Uhmm, Happy post-Halloween.

It was pretty nifty to see some of that old stuff that Vash? posted there. Gargoyles/Star Trek team-up looked decent, at least for what was completed...

Well it was still Halloween when I started the message.

No! He's advocating watching SpongeBob. A couple episodes of that is all you'll need to seriously alter your consciousness.

Or walk up down a flight of stairs and deliberately misstep. If you hit your head falling down 'em it'll be cause you were trippin'.

Or, as it is Halloween, eat lots of candy and drink diet soda. Then go directly to bed. You'll have very.... different dreams.

-Get stoned and head to a cathedral. I'll bet you'll see some pretty Gargoylish stuff there.
*note, I do not advocate the use of LSD or other hallucinogenics. :-)

Happy Halloween, everybody!

I watched my tape of "Eye of the Beholder" today, as my regular "Gargoyles-style" celebration of Halloween. (You've got to admit, it's a better way of celebrating Halloween in a Gargoyles-ish fashion than getting stoned.) Still a lot of fun. (And oddly enough, this same evening, Greg Weisman answered a question about Xanatos and Fox's relationship and alluded in his answer to "Eye of the Beholder" - the "genetically compatible" remark in the proposal scene, to be precise.)

Well, geez, Vash, that was pre-ASK GREG. If you count my daily dose there, I think I post MORE than I used to. ;)

I'll admit I haven't done a chat room in a while. Maybe I'll do that some time in the next couple of weeks. If so, I'll announce it here first.

Happy Halloween!

I leave you now with a link to Matthew Orwig's page. I don't remember what he used to post as, so instead, I will pretend to be Greg, who hasn't posted in a while and certainly no longer posts as much as he used to (as the link attests).

****The Great Pumpkin flies through the Comment Room, distributing toys and candy to all who dwell within. As it flies out of the Room, it turns back to the assembled multitude and opens its mouth. Blaise's head sticks out, almost like a tongue.****

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Blaise> That's okay, even many in her clan didn't know, until we met in person. ;)

Patrick> Wow, I didn't realize you and Kathy had been working together for so long.

Continuing the tradition, I'm now posting as Pogo--the lawyer of the fandom, also known for his animation cel collection and being Aimee's man. We were both part of the West Coast Clan, back when it still existed and was being run by DumlaoX, one of the founders of TGS. Another notable from the clan is Des Meergan, the one who made the GargoylesDM font many fans use. Anyways, I'm linking to the old clan page, which has a "Gargoyles Theme Song List" that's fun to look through.

Hey, I'm writing some fanfic and I want everybody's opinion on this:
When I talk about Zafiro, should I refer to him walking, or slivering, or what?

Any input?
Thanks

****Blaise "gallops" back in.**** Sorry for the 2x post, but....

VASHKODA> Yeah, I remember Thaylog (though, I must shamefacedly admit, I had assumed she was a "he" :0)). Like I said, so many folks to miss.

Later! ****Blaise "gallops" back out of the Room...and from some distance away rises a chorus of voices shouting "Ni!"****

****A washcloth suddenly appears out of thin air. It starts to fly about with a familiar cleaning-type motion. As it "cleans" the once empty air seems to "wipe away" and reveal Blaise. He shakes out his washcloth and stuffs it back into his robes.**** Yep, 'tis me again.

VASHKODA> Thanks for the page (and to daniel j.). I couldn't see any of the graphics, but just reading over the posts of over 3 years ago was very enlightening. It sure brought back a lot of memories. So many people there that have been missing (Madam Destine, Robbie, Doug Elder, Entity, Demonskrye, Aris Katsaris, Coyote the Bando, and far too many more for me to list).
And I got a kick out of reading some of my old posts. I sure as heck was a lot more verbose and excitable (sp?) back then.
Actually, the whole Room seemed to be busy that week, full of discussions about the "X-Men" movie that had just come out, and TGC.
Maybe we should talk about that old "Goliath Chronicles" again. We've got enough new faces in here, it might just drum up some discussion.

For now, though, I've got to get to work...trying to get work (sigh). Later all! Until then, farewell. ****Blaise gives a whistle, and in slopes a dirty peasant, his back weighed down with an absurdly large pack. The peasant also seems to be holding two halves of a coconut. Blaise takes a stance as though he's riding a horse and "gallops" out of the Room, the peasant, banging the two halves of the coconut together, close on his heels.****

I think I'll continue my Halloween tradition of posting as people who used to come here. Today it's my old friend and clan leader, Thaylog (anyone remember her?). As a tribute, I'm linking to the Gargoyles/Star Trek fanfic she archived on her site, which was originally posted in bits and pieces by people in this CR.

You can get episodes semi-legally off kazaa.
It takes awhile, so recommend just leaving your computer online all night.

I'm organising myself to go to The Gathering next year (blow the cost!), I just hope I don't forget the show before I get there.
After been shown constantly on Pay-TV for the last 4 years , Gargoyles has totally disappeared. I wish I had been able to tape the eps when they were being shown, 'coz I'm really in the mood for a Garg Marathon.

AVALON MISTS FYI

I'm pushing back the opening date to the 5th of November (as opposed to the first). (Due to personal time constraints on my part which I apologize for in advance.)

The Winter addition will still open on the 5th, just need a little more breathing space for coding.

Also, Avalon Mists is looking for people to help out, if you wanna help out on staff, please email us letting us know. I can't personally work on the spring addition, so if anyone wants to help out with compiling the articles to html, please feel free to apply.

Feel free to email us at avalonmists_webzine@yahoo.com

I watched "The Mirror" with some friends over the weekend (when I visit, they ask me to bring a "Gargoyles" tape, and I usually let them choose the episode they want to see). It's a superb episode, and I appreciated it even more now that I have read the comments on it in "Ask Greg." (Seeing the skyline reflected in the mirror after Demona throws it off the building is a nice touch). Someone noticed that the subway entrance Demona uses is number 42, which is a popular number among fans of the "Hitchhiker's Guide" series.

Something that impressed me this time was not in the episode itself, but in the reaction of some of my friends to the fact that the WTC is the center of the action. It seems that even an animated image of the building, over two years later, can still evoke unpleasant memories. I won't elaborate on this, since there are far more eloquent posts in the archives on this subject.

Christi: Always nice to have fresh blood. And if your boyfriend deson't want to go to the Gathering, tell himj there'll be free food. That's how girls always get me to go places.

DocFaust: I don't intend to do 'ranting' in any order, "Cloud Fathers" was just (as of Friday) latest one I had semi-legally acquired over the internet.

It seems ours isn't the only "Gathering" happening soon in Canada. LOTR fans are putting together a "Gathering of the Fellowship" con in December. They even have a promo video out, with fans in costume, that looks pretty good. ;)

I guess last week was "Cloud Fathers" and this week is...whatever comes after "Cloud Fathers," but I'd like to ask all this the same.

Has the question ever arisen of whether it's okay to air this episode whenever, given the Navajo people's seasonal restrictions on telling Coyote stories?
