Brook> I personally enjoyed My Bloody Valentine 3D. Ranked up there with Friday The 13th as one of the best movies this year.

But, then, I am biased about it, regarding my affinity for the horror genre.

Grr. Arg.

@ Demonskrye: apparently, I just went to see MY BLOODY VALETINE 3D (and am still drunk... ah, nothing better than watching these kinda films with a "best girlfriend" and being completely drunk) and the 3D-trailr for "UP!" was shown before that, and... well, look slike this is the first PICAR-film in AGES to actually get my money. I was especially thrilled by the bird and the dog. :D

Also, i'm thrilled for this one film... I think it was called CARALINE...pretty dark material for a child story, but it looked amazing, especially in 3D.

As for MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D, it was exactly what i hoped for... even if it wasn't of the wuality of the band of the same name.

Daniel> Your question is still in the Unanswered Questions queue, currently in the #31-40 page. Greg has over 100 questions to answer before he gets to yours, so it will be a while.

Antiyonder> I agree. Couldn't "An Ask Greg Helper" step in and answer some of these repetitive questions? Though to be fair, season two of SS-M will be airing soon, so it's possible that there will be some word on how it's doing sometime soon.

Movies> Just saw Pixar's "Up" today and it's excellent. I would hope everyone here will at least consider checking it out, if only because voice of Hudson Ed Asner plays the lead role (and does a stellar job of it too.)

Demonskrye - [demonskrye(at)gmail(dot)com]

Daniel> What was the question?

Speaking of which, with all of the repeats of:

1. Is Spectacular Spider-Man going to be renewed?
2. Is this going to happen on TSSM?
3. Is character so and so going to appear in TSSM?

Has anyone considered updating the FAQs?

Antiyonder

@ Litwofl: That would be totally amazing. :)

Did Greg Answer my question yet? I can't find my question on the unanswered questions list.

Walkaround Goliath> I've seen pictures of him before and thoughts that he looked a bit too gray, though it's still nice that the costume existed. Even if he had been purple though, I doubt many people would have recognized him, which makes me doubt Disney kept him around to promote the DVDs. For one thing, Disney never showed much inclination to do anything to promote the DVD beyond the print ads. And since the walkaround characters with masks can't talk, Goliath wouldn't have been able to explain to anyone who he is and that his show is out on DVD. I'm guessing the reason he was seen as late as 2004 has to do with the fact that he was seen during those years at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The people in charge of deciding which characters go out when probably picked him for that event because - as I understand - they make a point of having a lot of characters at the party and Goliath would fit in with the Halloween theme, even if people thought he was just some random scary winged dude. I think the costume actually dates from back when the show was on the air, but no one has posted any sightings of him from that time period yet.

Personally, I'm surprised he didn't get mistaken for Chenobog more often.

Demonskrye - [demonskrye(at)gmail(dot)com]

Audra - Wow, thanks for the link. I find the time period bizarre: 2003 - 2004. Do you think he was around before that? Was it to advertise the 1st DVD or maybe a new action block on Toon Disney? I wonder who decides which characters go out on a given day or party. Presumably they have all the characters, including Goliath, in storage somewhere on the grounds.

As for not recognizing him, the color and head are quite a bit off (and even scarier feet). I imagine they were going for a living stone look.

That Disneyworld Goliath is pretty cool, yeah.
I'm annoyed at the appearance during 03 and 04 though...

But I like him: http://home.att.net/~disneysue/characters/wdw/greenarmyman.html even better. :)

And he scares me: http://home.att.net/~disneysue/characters/wdw/conniesaurus.html

Brook
I agree with Rebel on EVERYTHING she says!!

This is random, but I never knew Goliath was a character you could meet at a Disney park. :O http://home.att.net/~disneysue/characters/wdw/goliath.html But I guess it's not surprising with how rare he was actually out, and it looks he wont be anymore, he hasn't for years. It's sad reading the general info on this page, how most people didn't know who he was. (But it's not surprising unfortunately) But if I ever saw him while at a Disney Park, I would so go up to him and talk to him, and get a picture! Lol. :P
Audra - [birdygirl85 at hotmail dot com]

>Brook: Don't have the know how to scan and show images. Sorry.

>Ozzie: I was talking to someone yesterday myself. He seemed interested in getting the episodes anyway. And since he doesn't have Disney XD, it should be an even greater incentive.

Antiyonder

Well, I got the series a new fan. Let my comic shop owner borrow season one and he loves it. Sounds like his favorite character so far is Brooklyn.

In The Edge, I've determined this:

Elisa getting a partner is another repercussion of being shot. This is something she can't get out of and she knows it. Xanatos donates The Eye knowing he's going to steal it back and he's chosen the Museum of Modern Art for its poor security and fine surveillance cameras. Just what he needs for his plan.

To Goliath, the fact that the castle was bought is a bit sketchy to him at best. If he understands it, he understands it in the possession=ownership sense. He also thinks Xanatos drove them into hiding in the clock tower. What he doesn't realize is that they were never meant to be driven out. That wasn't Xanatos's top priority. Goliath blames himself for being unable to prevent it.
Brooklyn and Lex think they're facing a stronger and more advanced version of the Steel Clan. Particularly the red robot. What they don't know, however, is that the red one is actually Xanatos in battle armor. Goliath is quite aware that Xanatos wants to find their new home. He's suspected that from the beginning and he'll do everything in his power to keep Xanatos from finding their new sanctuary in the clock tower. So, now he's having to consider his next course of action. Goliath knows they can't go back to the clock tower and they can't stay where they are, either. His biological clock is telling him it's not long until sunrise. The only option he has is to divert the Steel Clan to Lady Liberty. After the battle on Liberty Island, his robots have been destroyed and he's outnumbered so Xanatos retreats. Okay, the robots didn't work.

I can see what you're trying to say when you said Xanatos would much rather have the clan at the castle: He can't control them if they're not there. Makes that a little hard.

gargoyleslady - [kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

That kind of makes it sound like he's gay for others. ( ;

Lexington is gay. Broadway is totally straight for Angela.

Gargoyleslady> They do, but I don't think Xanatos was planning for that to happen. Again, he's in a much better position to control the gargoyles if they're stuck living at the castle with nowhere else to go.

Michael Clement> Broadway is not gay. He and Angela are mates (or soon to be mates) and will have three biological children together. Lexington is gay, though we don't yet know who his mate will be.

Becky> Are you reading the comic from SLG? It picks up where season two of the TV series left off.

I'm sure a lot of people would love to see new episodes of the show, but producing an animated series is pretty expensive and Disney just isn't interested in bringing the show back right now.

Demonskrye - [demonskrye(at)gmail(dot)com]

i think it would be cool if they started up the gargoyeles series again. or maybe new episodes just a thought

The One Known As Mochi >Hehe Im going to comic con too we should meet up. I still have some free passes to the event as my work gives em to me.
Shara - [jeanieherger at yahoo dot com]

Gargoyleslady> Well, possibly. But does it benefit Xanatos to have the gargoyles leave the castle? Not really. He's actually a lot better off if the clan is stuck with nowhere else to go, making them dependent on him. I think Xanatos was intrigued by Macbeth, the fact that he already knew about the gargoyles, was willing to take them on, and was bold enough to just come right out and offer his services. He wanted to know more about Macbeth and figure out how much of a contender he was. Tests seem to be a big thing for Xanatos, especially early on. He's not satisfied to just have his own alternative to the gargoyles; he needs to test his warriors out to see who comes out on top. The more he can learn about Macbeth and his abilities, the better. So he hires him. If Macbeth had managed to remove the clan from the castle, I think Xanatos would have been perfectly happy to have found someone who can defeat them, which would be a valuable asset. But I don't think getting the gargoyles to leave the castle was really his top priority.
Demonskrye - [demonskrye(at)gmail(dot)com]

Warcrafter> He did the theme lyrics, but this one will likely be a review.

How he reviews it is the question. Either it will be a satrical criticism of the show or an appreciation one like the one for Double Dare.

Goliath and his clan are Scottish, and "Gargoyles" has done a lot with Scottish history and legend. The television series brought in Macbeth, the Loch Ness Monster, and the Stone of Destiny (as well as the less familiar Kenneth and Constantine). The comic book added in more of Scotland's history and legends (Fergus of Dalriada, St. Columba, and Kenneth mac Alpin), and I suspect we'll see even more when the trade paperback comes out in July.

But the gargoyles live in New York now. We've naturally seen a lot of New York City so far in the series, including many famous landmarks (the Statue of Liberty, the Cloisters, Belvedere Castle, Cleopatra's Needle, etc.). But I've sometimes wondered if Greg might find a way to incorporate a few elements of New York's history into the series. Maybe Brooklyn during his Timedancing will pay a visit to New Amsterdam (eventually) or the fighting in the Manhattan area in the autumn of 1776 between the British and Washington's army.

Todd Jensen

In Enter MacBeth, I figured out that Xanatos hired MacBeth to see if he could put on a big enough act to make the gargoyles leave the castle.
Gargoyleslady - [kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

If you guys played Star Fox 64 or others, you might have noticed that there are two characters and two planets that have the same name as the Gargoyles character's name.

Fox McCloud and Fox Xanatos. Difference: McCloud is a Male and Xanatos is a Female and they both have different last name.

Wolf O'Donnell and Wolf from The Pack. Difference: O'Donnell has a cyborg eyepatch and he has a last name while the other Wolf has no last name and he is taller than O'Donnell.

Planet Titania and Queen Titania. Difference: A dessert planet and a woman name Titania.

Planet MachBeth and MacBeth. Difference: A machenic planet and a man name MachBeth who was hired by David Xanatos.

This is so wierd, but cool.
