Thank you for your insight is more the premise of that person was or is in a secret society. In part is to answer what would happen if a Templar met and maybe battled a samurai or a kung-fu warrior from White Lotus or any other Chinese martial art secret society. What would happen if a Hashin was trained by the Koga clan. It is a story meant to an ode to martial arts and warrior history. The direction of the story is that these different warriors form a new brotherhood and the quests that unite them in brotherhood. I see I am on the right track thanks for the suggestions. I hope I gave you a general idea of what Im doing. One aspect that Im having trouble with is how much I want to make it a historical seting and how much I want to make it a fantasy story?

Dres> Taking your questions one at a time:

It does sound like an interesting concept, though what you're describing is a pretty general framework of an idea. It's tough to say for certain how it might turn out with so little information, but it definitely has potential.

Just googling "comics writers seeking artists" brings up a whole bunch of links that look like they would be useful. I can't tell you for certain whether they'll be helpful or not since I've never been in the position of looking for a comics collaborator. But it seems like as good a place as any to start, though I'd wait until you have a little more sense of what your story is going to be about before you try to find someone to work with.

Since you're starting from an idea of what subjects you want touch on, I'd start designing a character or characters that will allow you to explore these ideas. For example, if you want to explore secret societies, then you're going to need a character who will at some point have some degree of access to a secret society. This suggests a number of different possibilities: a new initiate, a longtime devotee, an investigator of some sort seeking to unmask the secret society, or some ordinary person who gets caught up in the workings of the secret society without intending to, among other possibilities. For each of these character types or any others you could think of that would allow the character to have some dealings with the secret society, there are going to be questions that need answering, which will start to shape who the character is. A new initiate needs a reason to be joining the secret society and will have feelings about joining up, positive or negative. The longtime member will have a past history with the society, which could be good, bad or mixed. The investigator has a reason for wanting to expose the secret society, as well as reasons why he or she is choosing to attempt this potentially dangerous task rather than seek another way to deal with the society or not deal with them at all. The ordinary person who didn't seek contact with the society is going to have to have a reason to cross paths with the society and some choices to make once he or she does.

There is some trial and error involved with writing. You can plan and outline and brainstorm to a degree, but sometimes, you just need to start writing. If it's good, you keep prusuing that idea. If it's garbage, you at least know one thing that doesn't work and can start to figure out what might.

I have never really asked for nay real help so I want to run this by some people that I feel might be helpful. Since returning from the Army I have had this idea to create Manga graphic novel. I want the story setting and content to be a crossover or mix of sword and sandals with the Wuxia genre.
It will be a warrior's tale of a grail quest type. I want to touch on hidden histories and secret societies. Use the story to discuss aspects of Western and Eastern history, religion, philosophy, and myth. I want feed back does this sound like an interesting premise or convoluted? Also any advice on how to get some help with the project I am a descent artist but not nearly good enough to tackle a graphic novel project especially since I have never done panels. I would like to concentrate on the writing of this I have ideas for the general direction that the stories will go but no concrete ideas for specific chapters and storyline. How do you create story lines and character development? Is it mere experimentation? Thanks in advance.

Gargoyleslady> Prior to this, I was going to suggest that you might want to seek out a co-author to help you with your story, someone who could work with you one-on-one via e-mail to help you through any problems that you might be having with your story. I'm happy to help out to a point, but I am starting to feel like this is becoming the Comment Room's story rather than yours. You've been given a lot of good advice already and you've taken most of it pretty much verbatim, but I think you're at the point where you need to start writing the story and making the decisions yourself. My general advice to you is that you should focus primarily on what Billy sees, hears, and experiences to make him change his mind about gargoyles and about helping Broadway. Everything else is either secondary or unnecessary.

Like Greg said, none of us can write this for you. Even if I wanted to, I just don't have the time. Many of us have given you our thoughts on what you have. If this is going to be your story, the decisions need to be primarily yours. You need to do the research to figure out where in Central Park Broadway could hide. (I gave you a link to site that might help; there are plenty more if you look.) You eed to decide what Broadway is thinking when he first sees Billy. That's what a writer does. If you really feel like you can't do these things on your own, I suggest you find someone who's willing to do them for you in exchange for co-author credit. Because if someone is telling you what different characters should be thinking at different points in the story or how to get the characters from point A to point B, they're writing the story at least as much as you are.

I wish you the best of luck. It sounds like your story has the potential to be really interesting and I'd like to read it when it's done.

GARGOYLESLADY> I'm not trying to be mean, but you have been posting non stop about this fanfic idea for the last week at least. Most of us have given you advise and suggestions but we want to move on to different topics now. It's nothing personal, we just don't want to commit to being co-authors.

Look why not go ahead and write up a first draft? Once that's done, come back and ask if anyone here is interested in being a beta reader. If you find someone willing, you can send them the first draft, they'll read it and send you back some notes. That seem fair

Besides, why can't people in the CR be nice to me and help me out? I'm doing this because you guys are very knowledgeable. I can't describe worth shit. I thought somebody here could help me out but... I guess not.
Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Guys, I'm not asking you to write this story for me. All I'm asking is to give me suggestions.

Greg B> I don't know what the heck you're talking about. I have not pestered anybody.

Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

I also agree with Greg. If there are those here who would like to continue assisting with outlines and breakdowns, I would respectfully request that the process be moved to private e-mails.

With regards to the censorship topic... really? It wasn't possible to discuss that without posting all the words that many people find objectionable?

GARGOYLESLADY> I tend to agree with Greg that the folks here have already done pretty much everything they can for you. You've already got an outline with a beginning, middle and end, as well as a bunch of helpful and informative suggestions. At this point I think the best advise is to fire up a word processor and get cracking on a first draft. It probably won't be perfect right off the bat but that's what edits and rewrites are for.

As for stuff like the geography of Central Park or other real world info, there's various online sources that can help with that. A good place to start might be Google maps or Central Park's wikipedia page.

Algernon
Man, 2010 was a crazy year. Remember when the monolith turned Jupiter into a star? Good times.

GARGOYLESLADY> Um, how shall I put this delicately. We can't write this for you. You have already been given a ton of advice and suggestions. So, find yourself a beta reader, or editor, and start writing.

There's got to be someone on fanfiction.net or any other fic site willing to help you out. Or have you already tried that, and exasperated everyone else? I know of at least one prominent fanfic writer you pestered for years on end, and now she wants nothing to do with you... and she warned me about your behavior just today. I'd rather not see that sort of thing happen in here.

So, take the training wheels off the bike, stop asking us to hold your hand and either start writing or don't. But please stop asking this CR to write your story for you.

Demonskrye> Do you need to see my revamped outline in order to give me more advice?

Gargoyleslady> This might help:

If the story is that Broadway is saved because Billy helps the other gargoyles to find him, then I think the main focus of the story should be how Billy goes from believing that gargoyles are vicious, mindless monsters to helping one get home. The race against time is going to be part of the story. The Quarrymen provide the threat to Broadway, the reason why he can't just find a good hiding place and go home the following night. Seeing the clan looking for Broadway will remind your readers of how desperate they are to find Broadway and bring him home safely. But the main story is Billy, this kid who ends up helping a gargoyle even though his first thought is to do the exact opposite.

Demonskrye - [<---"Rover Dangerfield" at The Ink and Pixel Club]

I've never been to New York City so I need some suggestions on where Billy could hide Broadway in Central Park.
Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

For the record, the position in that last paragraph is precisely what I am arguing. Although it is a largely impractical stance in modern-day parlance, I feel that the censorship of any individual word is a fairly silly notion, particularly when they are used in the expression of art. Words, in-and-of-themselves, carry only as much meaning as we choose to proscribe to them.

Re: "Money For Nothing"

While I'm not too big on censorship myself, I can't imagine why they wouldn't censor it for radio play. Do radio stations play unedited songs with words like "nigger," "bitch," "dick," "cunt,", etc., in them? No they don't. They still play the songs but they play an edited version where the offensive word is either replaced or muted. I can't imagine why they would do that for all the other offensive racial/ethnic/religious/sexual slurs but not for a word like "faggot." Words like "faggot" and "dyke" are not any less offensive than any other slurs directed towards a minority group.

I think if you want to argue that this song shouldn't be censored for the radio, then you are being a hypocrite if you don't also advocate that all other songs be played without censorship. Otherwise, the message you're sending is, "We are fine with censorship unless the offended group is gays, in which case we don't care, because we don't give a shit about gays."

Rebel

I'm not big on censorship in any form.
Matt - [Saint Louis, Missouri, USA]
"Gargoyles stand together. That is our way." -Angela, 'Ill Met By Moonlight'

I find it kind of odd that they were playing the uncensored version in the first place - most radio versions I've heard in this country at least replace it with the word "mother."

It does annoy me, however, given the context under which the slur is used. As Mark Knofler himself put it way back in 1985:

"I got an objection from the editor of a gay newspaper in London - he actually said it was below the belt. Apart from the fact that there are stupid gay people as well as stupid other people, it suggests that maybe you can't let it have so many meanings - you have to be direct. In fact, I'm still in two minds as to whether it's a good idea to write songs that aren't in the first person, to take on other characters."

The word is spoken in-character, people. It's not intended to be an insult unless you choose to take it that way. XP

MATT>The Song contains the word "Faggot," three times, and a homosexual man in Canada here complained to the CRTC (Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commusion) and they responded that the song has to be censored. A lot of radio station (and myself) are up in arms about it... I was just wondering about your position.

Okay, guys. I need some suggestions for what could be going through Broadway's mind when he sees Billy coming toward him. Here's the newly renovated outline along with future chapters three and four:

Barely Alive

Summary: It's a race against time. The clan must get to Broadway before the Quarrymen do.

Set a few days after comic issue #12 Phoenix

A. Night. Goliath is staring out over the city.

B. Elisa arrives and says she's gotten a report of suspicious activity in Central Park.

1. Goliath says they will check it out.
He sends Brooklyn and Broadway to investigate the disturbance.

C. Broadway is out on patrol with Brooklyn, near Central Park. Nearby, Demona steals something that could be a magic talisman... Broadway spots her and pursues her. Demona is focused on escaping from Broadway and Broadway is focused on catching her, they're not paying attention to what's happening on the ground. They don't fly directly over the rally, just near enough that the Quarrymen spot them.

D. In the midst of the chase, Brooklyn gets knocked out and doesn't know what happens to Broadway afterwards.

Very close by there is a Quarrymen rally going on and Billy is there with his mother. She brought him to the rally so she could keep an eye on him and make sure he is safe.

1. But the Quarrymen rally ends up being where she loses track of him, freeing him up to get into trouble.

2. Broadway stumbles upon the Quarrymen and, being the detective he thinks he is, tries to investigate. He is discovered through some clumsiness of him trying to hide in stealth. A fight ensues. He gets away but not before being injured.

D. Billy slips away during the excitement and chaos after the Quarrymen realize there are gargoyles nearby. He gets lost a bit and stumbles upon Broadway, who is now injured enough that he is in no condition to glide back to the castle.

1. Which puts Broadway in deep trouble being that he unknowingly flew into Central Park where there is a Quarrymen rally.

2. Elisa hears on the radio about a reported shooting centered around a gargoyle sighting and reports to Goliath. Brooklyn gets back to the castle and says he and Broadway encountered Demona in Central Park but then while fighting her, he got knocked unconscious and didn't know where Broadway went. Goliath realizes the gargoyle sighted was Broadway.
Now, it's a race to see who finds Broadway first. The Quarrymen or the Manhattan Clan.

Chapter 2

A. The clan will split up to search for Broadway. Goliath will take Hudson, Cold Stone, Cold Fire and Bronx and Brooklyn's group will be Fu-Dog, Lex, Katana, Gnash and Angela.

B. Elisa knows that it could be dangerous with the Quarrymen all riled up. Central Park is going to be a madhouse. She wants Goliath to be careful.

1. Billy is face to face with a Gargoyle.
It's talking, begging him for help. He's scared out if his wits. His mother has told him gargoyles are mindless, dangerous, savage beasts. What is he going to do? Help it? Or tell his mom and the other Quarrymen where it is?

2. Broadway gives Billy a pleading look. He's saying "help me, I've been shot".

C. Billy starts to realize his mother isn't completely right about what Gargoyles are like and decides to help. He approaches the Gargoyle to try to help it. He says," Don't be afraid, I'm not going to hurt you."

D. Broadway is having a bad night. He's injured and he has no idea where Brooklyn is. Now, there's this human kid coming towards him.

What is going through Broadway's mind?

Future Chapters

Chapter 3

A. Goliath, Hudson, Cold Stone, and Cold Fire have Bronx trying to pick up a scent.
B. With Brooklyn's group, Brooklyn has put Angela in charge of the search efforts since she knows the territory better than Katana would.
1. Angela is worried that Broadway hasn't been found yet, Katana puts a comforting hand on her shoulder and tells her not to give up hope.
2. Elisa and Matt are in a search helicopter and are combing the ground with the search light. So far, no sign of him. She thinks they're probably looking in the wrong part of the park but she doesn't want to give up.
C. She presses Matt to keep looking, they are going to keep going all night if they have to.
D. Meanwhile, Billy knows he has to hide the gargoyle and then try to go find it some help. Where can he hide it?

1. Meanwhile, Bronx is sniffing the ground and then stops and whines. Goliath muses that he can't find a scent.

2. Goliath checks in with Elisa on his communicator and asks if there is any news of Broadway. Elisa says," nothing."

Chapter 4

A. Billy's mom is just as riled up about Gargoyles as the other Quarrymen and she's also pissed off because she's lost track of Billy.

B. Goliath contacts Elisa and says they still have no sign of Broadway. Elisa tells him she and Matt haven't found him either.

1. With Brooklyn's group, Brooklyn is feeling guilty because he couldn't stop Demona and may be about to lose his rookery brother in the process if Broadway isn't found before sunrise...

2. Katana tells Brooklyn not to worry and to quit biting himself in the tail. They will find Broadway.

Demonskrye> Okay, Broadway tells Billy to go find his clan and let them know where he is.

Demonskrye> I've determined how the story will end: Billy sees the other Gargoyles and takes them to Broadway.
Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Gargoyleslady> I believe what Dres is suggesting is that you remove everything that doesn't fit into the "race against time" concept from your story. You've already started to do that by taking the advice we've been giving you cutting unnecessary characters and ideas out of the story. Coldstell is not part of the race against time. Coldsteel is not part of the race against time to find Broadway. Demona's plans for the carrier virus are not part of the race against time. The armed group trying to recover an artifact (which I think you've already cut from the story) is not part of the race against time. Elisa and Goliath arguing about whether its safe to have Coldstone and Coldfire around is not part of the race against time. Some of there could be interesting subplots, but before you start worrying about all of these additional storylines, make sure your main story - the Quarrymen and the clan trying to find the injured Broadway - is working. You can always add the other stuff back in later.

In general, you're going to want to keep the story fast paced and exciting. You will need to alternate between the clan and their allies and the Quarrymen and showing both sides getting progressively closer to finding Broadway so that your readers will keep wondering who is going to reach him first.

Billy's role in the story could be very interesting. He's been told by his mother that gargoyles are mindless savage monsters, but now he's face to face with one and it's talking, begging him for help. What's going through Billy's mind? I want to know why he makes the decision that he does and whether he's starting to realize that his mother isn't completely right about what gargoyles are like.

Finally, you're going to want to decide not just how the story ends, but why it ends that way. I'm guessing that the story will conclude with one of the two groups finding Broadway, but it won't be a very interesting story if the group that finds Broadway is just luckier than the other one. If the clan find Broadway first - and I'm not saying you have to end the story that way - is it because they understand and care about Broadway and know how he would act in this kind of situation while the Quarrymen are hunting something they have no understanding of? Or maybe it's because even when he's injured, Broadway is smart enough to figure out how to let his clan know where he is while still evading capture by the Quarrymen? It could be some completely different reason, but there should be a reason so that your readers understand why your story ended the way it did.

Landon: Thanks for the numbers . . . while they were TPBs, I'm curious how the three Gargoyles books did in sales as well, if only because they probably reflect the folks that knew those remaining unpublished issues were coming out in the trades, waiting more than a year after Gargoyles #8 and Bad Guys #4 came out.

Tangent: Anyone know how many issues of the DuckTales arc in the recent Uncle Scrooge TPB is supposed to collect?

I was guessing four like the recent Darkwing Duck TPB, but Landon's sales post for Uncle Scrooge show seven issues, so now I'm wondering if there might be future TPBs that might collect the DuckTales arc or if "Like a Hurricane" is collecting them all.

Barely Alive

Summary: It's a race against time. The clan must get to Broadway before the Quarrymen do.

Set a few days after comic issue #12 Phoenix

A. Night. Goliath is staring out over the city.
B. Elisa arrives and they're not seeing eye to eye about the new members of the clan: Coldstone and Coldfire. She argues that Cold Fire's robotic body and Cold Stone's cybernetic parts were both built by Xanatos and that he might have put something in them that could someday give him an advantage against the clan. C. Billy shows her where he last saw the creature and points in the direction of where it walked off.
D. Goliath radios Elisa and says they still have no sign of Broadway.
1. Now, it is almost dawn and time is running out for the clan to find Broadway before the Quarrymen.
2. With Brooklyn's group, Brooklyn is feeling guilty because he couldn't stop Demona and may be about to lose his rookery brother in the process if Broadway isn't found before sunrise...

Summary for Barely Alive: It's a race against time. The clan must get to Broadway before the Quarrymen do.
Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Demonskrye> I think it might better if I removed the bit about Cold Steel from the story because I can't come up with a good plot.
Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Gargoyleslady> Based on your most recent version of the outline:

If you want to get more advice on your story, I think it might be helpful if you wrote up a short summary of what you want the story to be about. Right now, all we have is your outline of the first two chapters and for me personally, it's difficult to figure out what should and shouldn't be in the story without knowing how all of these elements might connect up later on. If I knew what you're planning for future chapters, I'd have an easier time telling you what you might need to work on or expand and what you could leave out.

Right now, I feel like you have a lot going on with no clear indication of how or whether it all becomes part of the same story. You have Broadway, Demona, the Quarrymen, Billy, an armed group trying to recover an artifactthat may or may not be the one Demona stole, Goliath and Elisa arguing about Coldstone and Coldfire, and Coldsteel returning to Manhattan. Again, knowing what you have in mind for the rest of the story would be helpful, but right now, it feels like a lot is going on that don't necessarily related to one another.

I Don't see why Goliath and Elisa are arguing about Coldstone and Coldfire. I saw that in an ealier outline, you had Elisa saying that Coldstone hasn't changed much and he tried to kill her along with Bronx, Angela, and Goliath when they met him in Tibet. I'm afraid that argument doesn't work for me. Remember that the trip to Tibet takes place before the TV series episode "Possession." Coldstone has changed a lot since then; he's had the other two personalities removed from his body. As far as Elisa and Goliath know, the personality that eventually became Coldsteel was the one that attacked them in Tibet. (Actually, Coldstone was trying to force his brother to leave without him for fear that his evil personality would resurface and try to hurt his family.) Even though Elisa wasn't present when Coldfire and Coldsteel were created, I figure Goliath must have told her about the two robots when Coldfire rejoined the clan, if not before. So with Coldsteel inhabiting a different body, Elisa has no reason to think that Coldstone would turn on his clan again.

What Elisa could argue, if it's essential to the plot that Goliath and Elisa argue about Coldstone and Coldfire, is that Coldfire's robot body and Coldstone's cybernetic parts were both built by Xanatos and he might have put something in them that could someday give him an advantage against the clan. I don't know that she would go so far as to suggest that Goliath kick Coldstone and Coldfire out of the clan, but she might want him to be on guard and not let his happiness over having his brother and sister back blind him to the possibility that they could be used against him.

There should be a reason that Broadway is on patrol alone. As a few other people have mentioned, this is a very dangerous time for the clan, so it seems unlikely that Goliath would send a lone gargoyle out on a routine patrol without good reason. If you want, you could have someone else come with Broadway, but get knocked out or separated from him during the fight with Demona and not know what happens to him afterwards.

Right now, the armed force on a mission (are they Quarrymen or some other group?) feels like an unnecessary complication. Again, it would help if i could see what they're going to do later in the story.

Broadway gets shot down by Demona and attacked by the Quarrymen? Seems like too much to me. I'd pick one or the other. Right now, it seems like being shot down by Demona ddn't injure Broadway at all.

I actually think it's a fine idea to have Broadway and Demona fly over the Quarrymen rally. If Demona is focused on escaping from Broadway and Broadway is focused on catching her, they're not going to be paying a lot of attention to what's happening on the ground. And they wouldn't have to fly directly over the rally, just near enough that the Quarrymen spot them. This would create a perfect opportunity for Billy to slip away and discover the injured Broadway while the Quarrymen get riled up at the sight of gargoyles.

Make sure that there's a reason that Billy is able t slip away from his mother. If she has been smothering him due to her fear of gargoyles lately, it should be very hard for him to go anywhere without her noticing under normal circumstances. He should probably slip away during the excitement and chaos after the Quarrymen realize that there are gargoyle nearby. It provides good irony too. Billy's mother joined the Quarrymen to help keep her kids safe, she brought Billy to the rally so she could keep an eye on him and make sure he is safe, but the Quarrymen rally ends up being where she loses track of him, freeing him up to get into trouble.

Again, I can't tell if Coldsteel is essential to the plot or one character too many without knowing what he's going to do later on.

Hope that helps.

Demonskrye - "the worst selling issue of Gargyoles still sold more copies than the worst selling issue of Darkwing, the first issue os Rescue Rangers and any issue of the DuckTales run"

Just to clarify: Gargoyles #8 sold 5,288 in March 2008. I didn't include it since Darkwing #8 isn't out yet for comparison.

Landon Thomas - [<- Gargoyles News Twitter Feed]

Demonskrye> could you give me some suggestions for my Barely Alive fanfiction outline?
Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Landon> Thanks for sharing those Disney Afternoon comic sales figures. They're quite interesting.

Sales of Darkwing Duck seem to have been remarkably stable, generally hovering around the mid-6,000s. The one exception is issue #2, which could have been due to retailers expecting a bigger dropoff in interest after the first issue and ordering significantly fewer copies of the book, only to discover that demand was still there and resume ordering at the original levels. (That's just a theory. There are many other possibilities, such as some store dropping the book on issue #2, but other stores picking it up with issue #3 due to the positive buzz around the title.)

Uncle $crooge/DuckTales is a little harder to follow, as we don't have actual numbers for 3 out of the seven issues. what we have suggests that it's holding relatively steady in the mid-3,000s, though those missing figures could tell a different story.

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers is too new to determine any trends. Right now it's selling more than Uncle $crooge and less than Darkwing, though that could easily change for the better or the worse in the next few months.

So where does this leave Gargoyles.

As compared with the BOOM titles, Gargoyles had a pretty steady trend of declining sales. Though we can't know for certain, this could be attributed to the lengthy delays between issues, during which time readers and retailers may have simply forgotten about the comic. Looking at the numbers, it's possible that the main title would have stabilized somewhere around the mid 5,000s and Bad Guys would have sold somewhere in the mid 3,000s per month, though there's no a lot of data so it's tough to say for certain if the sales would have stopped dropping. What we can say for certain is that the two best selling issues of Gargoyles each sold more copies than the best selling issue of Darkwing and the worst selling issue of Gargyoles still sold more copies than the worst selling issue of Darkwing, the first issue os Rescue Rangers and any issue of the DuckTales run. If you average the four comics that came out, Bad Guys[/]i sold around 4.125 copies per issue, which beats out the best sales of [i]DuckTales run.

I hope BOOM is looking at these numbers and factoring in the problems the SLG comics were up against when they look at the possibility of publishing a new Gargoyles comic.

Okay guys, I need some more suggestions for my story Barely Alive:

Barely Alive

Set a few days after comic issue #12 Phoenix

A. Night. Goliath is staring out over the city.
B. Elisa arrives and they're not seeing eye to eye about the new members of the clan: Coldstone and Coldfire.
1.
2.

C. Broadway is out on patrol alone, near Central Park. Nearby, Demona steals something that could be a magic talisman... Broadway spots her and pursues her. In the midst of the chase, Demona shoots him down.

Very close by there is a Quarrymen rally going on and Billy is there with his mother.

1. While the rally is going on, there is a separate armed force on a mission
trying to recover an artifact like the praying gargoyle.

2. Broadway stumbles upon the Quarrymen and, being the detective he thinks he is, tries to investigate. He is discovered through some clumsiness of him trying to hide in stealth.

A fight ensues. Broadway gets away but not before being injured. He glides to a more remote part of Central Park thinking he can hide better in a more deserted part of the park.

D. Billy decides to ditch the Quarrymen rally and the smothering of his mother and gets lost a bit and stumbles upon Broadway, who is now injured enough that he is in no condition to glide back to the castle.

1. Which puts Broadway in deep trouble being that he unknowingly flew into Central Park where there is a Quarrymen rally.

2. Elisa hears on the radio about a reported shooting centered around a gargoyle sighting and reports to Goliath. Goliath realizes Broadway has not been seen since going to investigate that disturbance in Central Park. Now, it's a race to see which Quarrymen find Broadway and the Manhattan Clan...

Chapter 2

A. The clan will split up to search for Broadway. Goliath will take Hudson, Cold Stone, Cold Fire and Bronx and Brooklyn's group will be Fu-Dog, Lex, Katana, Gnash and Angela.

B. Elisa and Matt will do their own searching.

1.

2. Billy is face to face with a Gargoyle. He's scared out if his wits. His mother has told him gargoyles are mindless, dangerous, savage beasts but this one looks like it's in need of help. What is he going to do? Help it? Or tell his mom and the other Quarrymen where it is?

C. Broadway gives him a pleading look saying "help me, I've been shot".

D. Demona is joined by Cold Steel.

B. Elisa arrives and they're not seeing eye to eye about the new members of the clan: Cold Stone and Cold Fire. Elisa argues that Cold Stone hasn't changed much and that he even tried to kill her when Avalon sent them to Tibet. Goliath doesn't care. Cold Stone is clan. Family.

Chapter two:

A. The clan will split up to search for Broadway. Goliath will take Hudson, Cold Stone, Cold Fire and Bronx and

B. Elisa and Matt will do their own searching.

2. Meanwhile, Billy is face to face with a gargoyle. He's scared out of his wits. His mother has told him gargoyles mindless, dangerous, savage beasts but this one looks like it's in need of help. What is he going to do? Help it? Or tell his mom and the other Quarrymen where it is?

But then why not just making it capable of killing all humans, instead of all intelligent life?

I keep thinking the carrier wouldnt have affected gargoyles at all, but Demona wouldnt trust Sevarius for what he was telling her, and so the precautions she was taking

Wouldnt it be ironic that she could have safely desinfected the whole planet of humans, but didnt because of her distrust towards them?

Chapter 2

A. The clan will split up to search for Broadway. Goliath will take Hudson, Bronx, Coldstone and Coldfire and Brooklyn's group will be Fu-Dog, Lex, Katana, Gnash and Angela.

I've never been to New York so I don't know which part of the park they could search. I thought a good place in the park for Castaway to hold a rally would be The Great Lawn.

Dres> Thanks, I completely forgot about Coldstone and Coldfire. So... How about this:

A. Night. Goliath is staring out over the city.
B. Elisa arrives and they're not seeing eye to eye about the new members of the clan: Coldstone and Coldfire.

Gargoyleslady - [kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

True, but like I said last week, I think one of the reasons the virus was selective to intelligent life was because the Fulfillment Spell did something to it. We don't really know too much about the spell other than it only works on holy ground, it can only be cast on the night of Hunter's Moon, and it fulfills the spellcaster's desire.

Now, Demona said in her recording that she was using the spell to bond the carrier virus and the disinfectant together. But as she was casting it, did she simply have to be THINKING about what she desired? Because then, she could just be thinking "bond this to that, to create a virus capable of destroying all intelligent life."

Of course, if that's the case, that means that there are limits to the spell. Otherwise, she'd have used it to kill us all centuries ago. You probably can't use it to kill, but you can use it to MAKE something that can kill.

I guess you could also put Fu-dog with Brooklyn and Bronx with Goliath.

Gargoyle lady Im not sure what you want as far as help with the Xanatos and Goliath scene there maybe enough going on with Quarrymen and Demona and Coldsteel on the loose. Im not sure where you are developing the Xanatos angle so Im not sure what to suggest that scene seems pretty clear cut just don't draw it out. Im not sure Xanatos would suggest that or bother to ask permission right now he is concentrated on getting there trust back and carrying out Illuminati interests and his family. I don't think that he would do anything to make Goliath or the other Gargoyles suspicious.

And gargoyles appear to be omnivorous, but their fangs look well-suited to tearing flesh. So I've always felt they prefer meat when they can get it.

Anonymous: I think it has less to do with Demona caring about non-intelligent animal life, and more to do with the rest of the animals on the planet don't represent the projection of Demona's unwillingness to accept responsibility for her actions. In her mind, humans are the cause of her troubles, so they're the main life form she wants to exterminate.

Going back to the subject of Demona's virus...it does get one's attention the fact the she made it so specific. I mean...if she did a virus that affected all apes, that would be far easier and less dangerous to her and her kind, why not doing it?

She took great efforts on pointing it JUST to humans. Can we say she cares about other forms of life?

Maybe its true what they say: serial killers love children and puppies.

Suggestions for what they maybe doing I got one for that too. Goliath, Hudson,Coldstone and Coldsteel are being shown NYC and patroling it.
Bronx,Fu-Dog, Lennox, Brooklyn, Katana, and Angela are out investigating the Pack after there battle with them such as how Coyote 6.O got upgrades and for what purpose the rest where broken out anybody here smell Illuminati link? This mission requires more stealth so Broadway draws short straws and is left looking after the Castle and Gnash. Gnash convinces Broadway that he should show him the ropes and patrol the city also appealing to Broadways vanity lol. They stumble unto the Quarry men tells Gnash to fly back and report to the others while he investigates. Gnash disobeys and is discovered by Demona and Coldsteel so Broadway gets injured while trying to rescue Gnash. Gnash is has been trained well enough to fend off Demona and flees to go get the other Gargoyles. Broadway is cunning enough to retrieve the praying gargoyle and elude the Quarrymen, Demona and Coldsteel, but is injured and now in great danger. dres - [escodr3s at yahoo dot com]

yeah the rally was my idea not hers and jokingly I might add. It sounds comically ironic don't you think. In any case a scenario like this could still work. I see the Quarrymen as an organization that works on two levels a public one and private one. So not all members are preview to the organization's activities just the hand picked of Castaway. So while a rally is going on there could be a separated armed force on a mission maybe say trying to recover an artifact like say the praying gargoyle.
Broadway stumbles upon the Quarrymen and being the detective he thinks he is tries to investigate he is discovered maybe through some clumsiness or awkwardness of Broadway trying to hide in stealth. A fight ensues Broadway gets away but not before being injured he flies into a more remote part of Central Park thinking he can better hide in a more deserted part of Central Park at night. Billy decides to ditch the quarrymen rally and the smothering of his mother and gets lost a bit and stumbles upon Broadway who is now injured enough to be in no condition to fly back to the castle Wyvern. Did some edits to several Goliath Chronicles episodes on GargWiki site recently, adding a section for discontinuity.

Now of course the series did contradict the original series quite a bit, but for the moment I added occurances in which The Goliath Chronicles messed up it's own stories (such as Sevarius being in jail, even though his last onscreen moment indicated no trouble with authorities).

So on that note should Broadway's television appearance in Broadway Goes Hollywood have removed suspicion that the gargoyles are mindless beasts (which aside from some moments, they'd be treated as).

Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

GARGOYLESLADY> My last post may have been harsh, so I am suggesting an alternative that I think may be more workable, but still preserves the spirit of what you want.

Broadway is out on patrol alone, near Central Park. Nearby, Demona steals something that could be a magical talisman... Broadway spots her and pursues her, and they both glide over Central Park. In the midst of the chase, Demona shoots him down.

Very close by, there is a Quarryman rally going on, Billy is there with his mother. He wanders off, and finds Broadway.

How does that sound?

Greg Bishansky

Gargoyleslady> So Billy is at a Quarryman rally, Broadway gets shot down over the rally and Billy finds him?

1. Broadway is too smart to just fly over a Quarryman rally. I don't think he'd be dumb enough to make himself that kind of target.

2. Billy finds Broadway before the rest of the Quarrymen do? His mother just lets him run off after this happened?

This scenario seems to convenient, and you might want to re-think your set-up.

Greg Bishansky

Demonskrye> Actually, in my story Billy will find Broadway Injured after he's been shot down by the Quarrymen.
Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Gargoyleslady> I think it would depend partly on the time of night when he's going to encounter Broadway, which is going to be affected by factors like the time of year (determining how early it could get dark) and how much has happened before Broadway encounters Billy (determining how much time has passed between Broadway waking up at sunset and crashing in Central Park).

If it's a fairly early night, it's theoretically possible tha Billy could be out on his own after dark. But even though I don't know his exact age, Billy is still fairly young and unlikely to be out at night without an adult. A big city after dark can be dangerous at the best of times and Billy's mother joined up with the Quarrymen, meaning that she is extra afraid of gargoyles and probably extra protective of her kids.

So unless Billy has an adult with him, I'm thinking the only reason he would be out in Central Park at night is if he's doing something he's not supposed to, like maybe rebelling against his mother being more and more insistent about knowing where he is at all times.

Goliath Tiki came so I am happy and disappointed because it came with the cross on the steeple broke off. Being that A10 has no more in stock I have no choice but to restore it myself. I think Billy should encounter Broadway after a Quarryman rally that he attends with his mom, lol.

Also, I want to say something about Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series. Has anyone noticed in the episode Ice Ducks Cometh that the two alien villains rivalling Dragaunus bear a striking resemblance to Broadway and Hudson?
Gargoyleslady - [kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Matt> Thanks, Matt. Yes, that does sound interesting. I would imagine Billy's reaction when he finds Broadway may be fear since, like you said, his mother is a Quarryman and she has probably told him the lies about the Manhattan Clan fed to them by John Castaway who is using fear as a way to recruit people.
Gargoyleslady - [kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Gargoyleslady> That idea sounds interesting. Keep in mind though that the last time Billy encountered gargoyles (aside from Hudson on Halloween '96) was when Goliath and Lex were battling the Pack... and Billy joined in. And with his mother being a member of the Quarrymen, I don't think his attitude towards gargoyles would be great. That said, it'd make for some interesting drama and dialogue.

That Conan clip is great!

Its here! Its finally here! I just got my Electric Tiki Goliath statue. Number 180 of 200.

The item status on the Sideshow website is SOLD OUT! Very good thing. Im glad I got my order in on time. Hope they get the ball rolling on the next one soon.

It would be cool to have the statue as an avatar.

Watching the Conan clip right now. Very funny.

I have a fanfiction story Idea where Broadway is shot down by the Quarrymen in Central Park but is found by Billy Greene. I already have the outline, I just need suggestions on what Billy could be doing when he finds Broadway.
Gargoyleslady - [Kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Electric Tiki Goliath arrives sometime today. I know everyone on here is really into YJ but does anyone know when the other anticipated Cartoon Network series begins? Im really looking forward to Thundercats may be even more so than YJ. Heresy I know but Studio 4 C an anime producton company is producing this so yeah T-h-un -der, Thundercats, Ho!!

When Young Justice comes to DVD, I hope Conana and the Flaming C somehow wind up in the bonus features, lol. :D

Tangent: Finally picked up BOOM!s second issue of Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers . . . I'm becoming more and more convinced that my monthly purchases of the comics Darkwing Duck and Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers are going to compel me into buying DVDs of these shows soon.

The cash isn't there right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if I grabbed a one or two Volume I's in the next few months d:

I just caught the east coast feed of tonight's Conan O'Brien show, which featured a big shout out to Young Justice. If you are a fan of Young Justice (or Conan) try to catch or record the west coast feed or the late night rerun of the episode. You'll be glad you did.

Gragoyleslady> "When Chavez asked Matt about the Xanatos angle and he said he and Elisa had been up to the castle and reported nothing unusual, he was hiding the gargoyles' existence from his own Captain. Technically, Matt lied to Chavez."

Actually, he technically DIDN'T lie to her. There was nothing unusual to him about seeing the Manhattan Clan at the Eyrie Building. That is there home, afterall. Now, you are right that he was hiding information from the Captain. He knows she wants to know if the gargoyles are with Xanatos, but he is unwilling to answer that question. His statement was a way to answer her honestly without telling her the whole truth.

First issue Nightwatch:

Matt Bluestone said for people to remain calm but I don't think people will remain calm after the gargoyles were revealed to the world. They're so scared that they're believing Castaway that the gargoyles are dangerous.

Jon Castaway was symphathizing with people and is using fear as a way to recruit.

Hudson and Brooklyn knew it was very dangerous to be seen. Goliath didn't care if it was too dangerous to be seen, he just knew he wanted to see Elisa.

With the city up in arms, Elisa was worried about Goliath gliding out to see her.

Goliath was feeling alone and he's tired.

When Chavez asked Matt about the Xanatos angle and he said he and Elisa had been up to the castle and reported nothing unusual, he was hiding the gargoyles' existence from his own Captain. Technically, Matt lied to Chavez.

Fleance and Banquo saw Goliath roosting on Elisa's balcony and thought it was just a statue. Even before the sun went down, Banquo still thought it was just a statue but Elisa knew otherwise.

I have the comics so I plan on giving my observations on them.
Gargoyleslady - [kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Yes, I do.
Gargoyleslady - [kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

That episode was written by Weisman, but aside from that and possibly episode 13, the series dismisses it.

Do you plan to give your observation on the comics as well, or just the onscreen stuff?

Antiyonder

Antiyonder> Yes, I have read the comics but I picked that up from the televised version of The Journey.
Gargoyleslady - [kendal dot renfro at yahoo dot com]

Gargoyleslady> Looks right to me.

Now have you read the comics yet? Cause the rest of Season 3 (televised that is) would more or less dismiss the idea that Canmore and Castaway were one in the same aside from a line in the finale.

Oh and:

Greg B> So, are you really done with The Goliath Chronicles reviews? Cause I enjoy your rants on the finale, and would like to see you tear apart Ransom. Heck, the Angels of the Night is in my opinion ThatGuyWithTheGlasses worthy.

Jon Canmore wears two masks: the slicked back hair and mustache and the Quarryman hood.

There were a few good reasons why Broadway couldn't concentrate on his reading lessons: Goliath was missing, Angela was upset, she was standing right next to him and she is Goliath's daughter.

Elisa was worried that Goliath came to see her when she knew it was foolish to be seen and Goliath was angry that there were people disputing his kind's right to exist.

Nothing like that, Brainiac. I teach 8th grade, and first semester is ending. So there's no school on Thursday or Friday, and Monday is MLK Day. Actually, Thursday and Friday were supposed to be a work day and a professional development day, to finalize grades and prepare for next semester as well as learn some new strategies, but lacking students it still feels like a holiday. But budget cuts led them to declare those furlough days, so we have to stay home without pay. It kind of sucks, but I'm going to try to make the most of it by thinking of it as a long weekend.

in the name of unexpected days off! Because- it rained, and it's cold, so the rain might freeze? Buses might tip over because of high wind? I don't know, but that means a three day weekend, followed by a two day week, followed by a five day weekend, followed by a four day week. And then that's about it for January.

Oh, and I asked my dad to record The Cape for me, so hopefully he remembered.

EIGHTH!

Not that it really needs to be said, but the countdown's not necessarily required, but it's a casual way to start the week and at least gets the ball rolling discussion-wise d:

As for me, I definitely enjoyed Keith David on The Cape . . . as for the rest of the show, I found the pacing a bit off ([SPOILER] I had no problem with the flashbacking or the titled scenes/chapters, but I guess I figured the training would take longer and not be so montage-y [/SPOILER]) . . . it could just be Pilot jitters/setting up pipework business, so I'm hardly discouraged at this point and will definitely be watching it whenever the next episode airs :)
