Season Two Episode Eleven, City of Mutants Part One, of my TMNT/Gargoyles Crossover is posted:

I don't think that much thought was put into it. Any patterns you see in the Goliath Chronicles are likely a coincidence in my opinion.

A thought I recently had about the Goliath Chronicles.

The first half after "The Journey" (from "Ransom" to "And Justice For All") generally pit the gargoyles against mundane villains (except for Jackal and Hyena in "Broadway Goes to Hollywood" and maybe the Quarrymen in "The Dying of the Light"), with heavy amounts of the general public engaging in anti-gargoyle rioting. In the latter half ("Genesis Undone" to "Angels in the Night"), the season made far more use of "super-villain-level" adversaries (Thailog, Sevarius, Demona, the Illuminati, Proteus - plus the man with the invisibility suit in "Generations", who, despite his weak characterization, was clearly intended as a super-villain) and the public is kept mostly off-stage until "Angels in the Night" (where we do get more anti-gargoyle demonstrations).

I wonder whether the production team realized in the course of making the "Goliath Chronicles" that the approach they were taking in the earlier episodes wasn't working and changed the direction - too late to alter the first few episodes after "The Journey", of course, and with still several other problems in the later episodes.

Matt> Wolf doesn't necessarily have to be stronger than Malibu, every hold has techniques that can be used to counter them. If I were Lex, and Wolf had pinned me in that hold, after the fight, I would have learned the technique to break the hold. So, more a matter of experience.

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else. ~~C.S. Lewis

Aside from the machinery that Goliath threw, I think most of the junk at Pack Media Studios was props. Those spikes were likely just sheet metal over a frame or something.

And Wolf is pretty strong and had Lex in a solid hold. Hard to escape that (though its worth noting that apparently Lex escaped from Malibu in the exact same hold in "Bash". Maybe Wolf is stronger than Lex and Malibu.) Lex is stronger than the average human though, particularly a human of his size. Recall that he picked up and threw a Viking in "Awakening".

So, i started watching the series again recently. One thing i was curious about after Thrill of the Hunt, The Pack is disappointed when Lexington reveals himself because they were expecting someone bigger, ie Goliath. But, when the two gargoyles are busting out of the studio, both Goliath and Lexington brush aside the spikes like they were nothing. How strong is Lexington compared to Goliath? If the spikes were truly deadly, as Fox claims, wouldn't they have to have some weight to them? Later on, we see Lexington struggle to escape from Wolf.

Just struck me as a bit odd that he could plow through the spikes, but struggle after that. Maybe he was high on adrenaline right after the betrayal?

It's pretty cool that Gargoyles got mentioned in Michael Chabon's "Telegraph Avenue", being a Bay Area resident I'd like to see how he portrays Oakland. I remember reading "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" for my mythology class.

Zergrinch - What better compliment could be paid?
Greg Weisman

Regarding Greg's latest ramble about "Telegraph Avenue" and the mention of Gargoyles, I have to say that Greg sounds positively flattered. Personally though, I'm not sure I would like it if
the word "spontaneous erection" and my work were mentioned in the same sentence!
:)

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!
