I'll definitely be writing one up once I'm fully recovered from the food poisoning I contracted the last day of the con.

So much to describe...it's definitely a bit daunting.

Still no single con report. Not that there were any reports from previous Gargs 20 years cons.

*Comes out from a long period of lurking*

Hi... Just wanted to stop by and say that I'm thrilled to see a Gargoyles panel going to happen at San Diego Comic-Con.

I. Will. Definitely. Be. There!

Bought a copy of Spirits of Ash and Foam from Barnes & Noble the day it came out, while my Amazon copy is also just getting out of pre-order limbo (the pre-order will eventually be given to the school-where-I-work-at's library) :)

Besides, been rereading the first book anyhow (should finish soon, its delaying my ConJournals from getting finished, lol) d:

DTaina - Amazon does offer the ebook version, that's what I bought. I linked to it, if you click my name.

My Amazon copy finally shipped just before midnight. According to the tracking system, it should be here tomorrow. We'll see.

Bought my copy; I've read the first few chapters, and am enjoying it so far - though that's all I'll say until I've finished it (and will enclose my review within spoiler tags, of course).

I just purchased my copy of Spirits of Ash and Foam on Amazon. Does anyone know if they offer the Ebook version? I can't find it.

Haven't picked up Spirits yet. I'd prefer to buy in a physical bookstore to encourage stores to carry it. Sadly, Ashland, OR's bookstore doesn't have it (I'm up here on vacation this week). I was tempted to poke their counter saying "It's Tempest inspired and the guy who wrote it comes to this festival!" but then I realized I shouldn't harass the nice person selling me books. Will probably order it through my hometown bookstore's website...
UncleDeadly

Just wanted to thank everyone who's picked up - or is in the process of picking up - a copy of Spirits of Ash and Foam. I hope you like it, and if you do like it, I'd really appreciate it if you'd post a review on Amazon. It seems those reviews really help boost sales.

Thank you...

Greg Weisman

Just received my copy! I need to finish rereading the Rain of the Ghosts first, but I'm looking forward to reading Spirits over the next few days.
Ross

I just downloaded the Spirits of Ash and Foam ebook. I'm excited about reading it, but I have to finish another book I'm working on and I want to re-read Rain of the Ghosts before I dive in, so I may not get to it until next week.

Still processing? I wonder if there's any link between St. Martin's and Hachette.

I actually checked up on my local library system to see if it had any copies. Locally, there are two copies of the first book and they appear to be the only ones available for the state-wide lending network of which my library is a part. No sign of Spirits yet.

And my Amazon copy is still in processing, as it has been for several days now.

I stopped by my local bookstore last night on my way to a meeting and looked for it in the Young Adult section, but couldn't find it. So I went to the desk and ordered a copy - only to find out that they *did* have a copy, but it had been misshelved (something that I've become too familiar with, since I work at a library). I wasn't able to buy it that evening because of the meeting, but asked them to keep it on hold for me when I come back today to purchase it. Looking forward to it (and the fact that they already had a copy in the store - even if accidentally placed on the wrong shelf - may be a good sign).

ALGERNON - Looking forward all the more to reading the radio play now if Greg's able to share it with us.

Still need to find a bookstore that sells it, as well as reread the first one.

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else. ~~C.S. Lewis

TODD> From what I'm told, Savage's logic in the Radio Play is that any humans who don't survive Demona's attempted genocides are only "holding back the species."

Survival of the fittest.

Algernon
"This world isn't worth saving, tragedies and sadness will never truly disappear. But even so, it's the place she once tried to protect. I remember that. And I will never ever forget it. That's why... I keep fighting." ~Homura Akemi

Demona might join in the hopes of it furthering her own goals - but I'm sure that the rest of the Light would be keeping a close watch on her, ready to deal with her the moment she tries to betray them (and they'd certainly be expecting trouble with her eventually, since they're all - except for Klarion - humans).

Demona had allied with Xanatos when it suited her interests; she'd probably do the samd with the Light if she felt the same way.

I can't see Demona being a member of the Light's inner circle anymore than I can see her joining the Illuminati. She's far too erratic, dangerous and focused on her own goals.

Was there anything about Gargoyles after Clan-building arc? Like... how Brooklyn has changed after his dance through time, what kind of Gargoyles (or persons) Katana and Nashville are, how dynamics inside New-york clan change now that there are more members... that sort of things.
Cakith

Doc Ock and Demona would definitely fit in the Light's inner circle. Electro, Jackal and Hyena would make perfect stooges too. Can't wait to hear about all those bombshells from CONvergence.
Matthew
From far, from eve and morning, And yon twelve-winded sky, The stuff of life to knit me, Blew hither: here am I. -A.E. Housman

Todd: Yup, that's Doc Ock. But until CONvergence posts the video they took of the radio play, and/or the Wise Man posts the script here, I won't say anymore to give context beyond the line "The Light is down three senior members..." ;)

Definitely want to get started on my Con Journal as soon as possible, though, because there were a TON of neat bombshells - big and small - sprinkled throughout.

And in general, it was a blast and then some. Between the couple-dozen massively entertaining panels, the radio play (I got to play Lexington and both open and close the action, which was a ridiculous amount of fun), and getting to hang with Greg and various other Gathering old hats socially...

Yeah, that was one great weekend.

And as soon as I'm done recovering from the severe bout of food poisoning I contracted immediately afterward, I'll be sure to tell y'all about it!

Yup, those were the villains of the piece.

Here's the problem with most fanfic writers: they seem to think Dominique is a second life. It isn't. Demona spelled it plainly in "High Noon." She's a gargoyle. Dominique is just a tool to help her in her goals. She'll use the form because she changes into a human, whether she likes it or not, but Dominique is not another life for her.

For that matter, if they bring up Wolf during the "Gargoyles"/"Young Justice" crossover, things are really going to become confusing.

That was an excellent CONvention.

And the Justice League would have probably stepped in to investigate before Castaway had the opportunity to set up the Quarrymen.

I can easily imagine G. Gordon Godfrey accusing the gargoyles of being aliens (with the drawback that it might mislead those members of the "Gargoyles" audience who'd already mistakenly concluded from episodes like "Sentinel" that the gargoyles *were* aliens).

Todd Jensen
Hufflepuffs are really good finders

Todd> Yeah, I imagine the revelation of the gargoyles' existence would be slightly less shocking in a world where the existence of aliens and Atlantis are already common knowledge.
Ross

A crossover between "Gargoyles" and "Young Justice" sounds more challenging than one between "Gargoyles" and "The Spectacular Spider-Man". "Gargoyles" and "The Spectacular Spider-Man" were both set in a world where "super-heroes" and "super-villains" were just starting to become public, but largely secret. "Young Justice", on the other hand, is set in a world where super-heroes have been public knowledge for a long time - long enough for the Hall of Justice to become a major tourist attraction in Washington D.C. A very different atmosphere indeed.

Most likely the script of the radio play takes a "don't worry about it" approach. (I'm looking forward to reading it, though, if Greg decides to post it on "Ask Greg" as he did with "Religious Studies".)

Anyone who posts in the CR win the pie contest? How did that work anyway? Did people bake pies beforehand or was there a place where stoves and ingredients were supplied and there was a bake off?
Anthony Tini

Woah, almost forgot about Spirits of Ash and Foam, thanks for the reminder! Gone ahead and preordered, so looking forward to that in a few days.

Really hoping to see the radio play on youtube soon! I read on the Gargoyles News twitter page that Marina Sirtis talks to herself as Demona and Queen Bee, and...

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

...Sorry, my brain seems to briefly lose coherent thought after reading that. Darnedest thing.

Seventh.

Really? Greg's second book, Spirits of Ash and Foam comes out tomorrow, Tuesday July 8th 2014? Because I did not know that Greg's second book, Spirits of Ash and Foam comes out tomorrow, Tuesday July 8th 2014. Greg did not mention once that Greg's second book, Spirits of Ash and Foam comes out tomorrow, Tuesday July 8th 2014. I had no idea that Greg's second book, Spirits of Ash and Foam comes out tomorrow, Tuesday July 8th 2014, he did not mention once that Greg's second book, Spirits of Ash and Foam comes out tomorrow, Tuesday July 8th 2014. But it sure is good to know, that Greg's second book, Spirits of Ash and Foam comes out tomorrow, Tuesday July 8th 2014.

Todd/Quincey--The Radio Play is FANTASTIC and QUITE FUNNY. I see no reason to withhold the major beats (In fact I have shared them already with a few people) but it is much better SEEN/HEARD, so I am hoping it will be up on youtube soon. Also Greg will probably post the script rather soon. Also, as much as I love Frozen that's a separate 'verse from gargoyles (And Greg only thought that it was an okay movie)...And as Greg has not actually seen Once Upon a Time, I am pretty sure this question makes no real sense.

Also, Elisa's sex life was one of the few not really discussed at the Blue Mug. Other than in a general sense.

6th - I'm wondering if there was any news/talk about a blu-ray release of the episodes or any plans for future episodes in some form.

Any tidbits that Greg shared about Rebels would be cool to hear about, but I'm sure he didn't/couldn't say much if anything.

Anthony Tini

I'm curious about the radio play, after learning it was a triple crossover of "Gargoyles", "The Spectacular Spider-Man", and "Young Justice" (meaning, among other things, that it's a Marvel/DC properties crossover as well). Let's hope those of us who didn't go to the convention get to find out more.

And tomorrow, "Spirits of Ash and Foam" will be published.

Todd Jensen
Hufflepuffs are really good finders

I take it there's a NDA going on about the story of the radioplay?

Also, at the Blue Mug, was there any new details about Elisa?

Wish I had though about asking someone to relay this question for me before, but hey, I could always ask it here.
So, considering that Once Upon A Time and Gargoyles both belong to Disney, and both have a bit of a similar-ish tone, is there the possibility that Storybrook exist in the Gargoyles universe? oh and also, is Elsa of Arrendelle a child of Oberon (or daughter of one)?
