I was waiting till the wipe to mention that the kickstarter just broke 50% today (if no else had already, that is) -- but I just check again, and I just couldn't wait!

We're at 63%! According to Kicktraq, four folks donated a combined total of $6,060.

Wow. Just -- Wow.

so...
I hear the German Disney Cinemagic channel has been broadcasting the Disney series "The Little Mermaid" in HD for about a week now. I think this is the first time that such an old Disney series has got the HD treatment if I am not mistaken. Anyway here is a direct comparison between the video quality:

SD (old master): http://i.imgur.com/VTLYafX.jpg
HD (new master): http://i.imgur.com/qLdmCdO.jpg

It's not perfect, because they cropped the top and bottom to make it fill the whole 16:9 screen, so they actually did zoom in the image (which means a quality loss) but it looks miles better than the old master, especially the colors.

Now if the original negatives of the other Disney series are still around (which I think they are) I hope Disney doesn't stop here and produces new HD transfers for all of them, too...

Who knows, maybe we can actually buy Gargoyles S1 on Blu-Ray with a brand new HD transfer in 2025 or smth...

I think one of the best things we can do for the Kickstarter is keep raising awareness online via social media sites like Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook. Even something as simple as RTing Greg's tweets on the subject can help.

For those who haven't noticed yet, most of the $200 pledge levels on the Kickstarter have expanded to allow as many as five backers. In addition, there are two new choices for the voice mail messages/video shoutouts - Jeff Bennett and Greg himself.

"It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known."

I was watching a documentary about the reign of Henry VIII on the local PBS station last night, with little silent-dramatization moments to illustrate during the events of his reign. In the ending credits, it listed the actor who played Cardinal Wolsey as a "John Canmore".

That's the first time I've come across a real-life person in modern times with that surname. I don't know, though, whether he's actually related to Duncan and Malcolm Canmore.

Tenth in the name of the first season of "Better Call Saul" coming to an end and knocking it out of the park! Seriously, best show on television.

Ninth in the name of the Rain of the Ghosts Kickstarter being almost half way there and earning a Kickstarter Staff Pick badge!

Someone want to create a poster for the "Rain of the Ghosts" KickStarter campaign that we can hang at local grocery stores, comic book stores, book stores and other local businesses to help spread the word?

Well, presuming last week's directive was followed...

..I command you all to go FO(u)RTH and get OTHER people to pledge!

I am angry that David Lynch won't be directing the THIRD season of Twin Peaks. I didn't care for more Twin Peaks as much as I looked forward to him directing again. He already wrote the scripts too. :(
