Re: Illidan cutscene.

I always thought Illidan worked as a sort of counterpart to Demona. Illidan is similarly driven by dark motives and aspirations of power, but where Demona does things because she's suppressed her conscience, and she can't handle the vile things she's done to other people; Illidan is deluded and sociopathic and genuinely believes he's done nothing wrong.

I think Burning Crusade took him too far one way (making him basically a crazy idiot) and Legion's sort of taken him too far the other way (a well-intentioned extremist who doesn't play by other's rules) and neither is really... correct.

There are a great number of questions currently in the queue that will be deleted for violation of one or more guidelines, when I have a chance to do so.

That is certainly one of them.

That being said, Pete, please don't try to evade the swear filter. We try to keep this room approximately PG.

The question does seem to violate the "no ideas" clause.

Can someone delete this dumb cun't question? http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=22821

Someone asked for me? Who? Why?

Hello!

Sorry for the double post, but a few years ago, I did see a bookbag in a bookstore with a cartoonish picture of the Frankenstein monster reading "Paradise Lost" (with a snake on the cover); I was delighted that somebody was making that aspect of the monster more familiar to the public.

I mentioned this once in "Ask Greg", but I think that Goliath, in some ways, echoes the monster in Mary Shelley's story (who was nameless; Frankenstein was the man who created him). He's a monstrous-looking being who is also intelligent and even well-read (the monster in Mary Shelley's story had read Plutarch's Lives, "Paradise Lost", and Goethe's "The Sorrows of Young Werther" - a detail sadly lost in the Hollywood adaptations); he differs from the monster, however, in finding some cases of companionship among the humans (especially from Elisa) where the monster found none.

Also, Happy B-Day to Coldstone's great-great-grandma Mary Shelley!

PAUL> Given how Blizzard actively sought out Greg for Traveler, I suspect there are more than a few gargfans on staff.

Those of you who are interested in World of Warcraft have probably already noticed this, but there is a scene early on in the new content that is highly reminiscent of Goliath's introduction in "Awakening, Part One". The way Illidan stops Turalyon's sword is pretty much exactly that way Goliath stopped Hakon's sword.

ANONYMOUS - A lot of people who used to post here stopped coming here. Most likely because we've far less to discuss these days; once the top ten countdown's over, there's little to do but wait until next Monday and start again.

You can use the "Ask Greg" tab. If it's not a question that he would answer there, he certainly won't answer it through private email.

Can someone get me Greg Wiseman's email? I need to ask him something private about his work.
Sally

Hey, has anyone seen Supermorff?

ALGERNON - That extra delay according to Amazon (not to mention that it was originally supposed to be published last year) doesn't bode well.

In the case of accidental double posts, one may plead the fifth.

Muscles fade and the mind dulls. But as long as the heart is willing, strength remains.

FOURTH!

And BTW, has anyone heard anything more 'bout the Gargoyles Cinestory?

PreviewsWorld has it listed as out September 27th but the pre-order page on Amazon says October 10th?

I'll third the notion.

I can't second that, but it's certainly been several months since it's been this quiet to start.

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

First. (And this is the first time I recall the comment room being completely empty on Monday morning.)
