1) Where exactly in Eastern Europe is Markovia? Is it neighboring Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, or is it further away, like Hungary or Romania?
2) What was going on with the Doom Patrol - the one Dayton was a part of as 'Mento'? Were they an old TV show, a real hero team, a group of actors with very bad luck?
3) You've been working on Magic the Gathering books - would any of the Team/Outsiders members play MtG, and do you have deck themes in mind for anyone in particular?
4) Was Ilona Bedlam's older or younger sister?
5) Was Tara aware that Cassandra Savage liked her?

Greg responds...

1. We placed Markovia on a map. And the map is at my office on the Warner Bros Ranch. And I haven't been to that office in over a year. I can't quite remember. But I know it borders Vlatava and is close to Latvia.

2. A real hero team. The only (former) actor on the Patrol was Rita.

3. I've been off MtG for so long now that I've already forgotten what "deck themes" means. I think I'll leave it to your interpretation which heroes play the game.

4. Ilona's the older sibling.

5. They got along well enough.

So, since the askbox is closing soon to get a chance to catch up, I thought I'd finally send in an ask about one of my favorite bits of the new season - Terra's plotline. I'd been hoping to see a Young Justice take on Terra since s2, and when we started seeing the first trailers of the team going to Markovia, I got even more excited. And I was not disappointed! So often Terra is a flat character, a betrayer, a monster, a madwoman - if there's any sympathy towards her, it's usually in a vague tragic backstory of abandonment, or her having a moment of realization before the end and taking Slade down with her (and often with an implication that Slade is the more reasonable, understandable one in the equation.) It was so refreshing to see a take on her that remembered she had been a child, was still young, and being manipulated and abused by a much older adult - and that made that abuse and manipulation not a death sentence. Terra doesn't die, she lives, she chooses to face justice - and, in a note I'm particularly fond of, she does all of this not because she's fallen in love with a heroic boy, but because of her platonic and familial bonds - with Artemis, with her siblings, and with Halo. Seeing her finally get to turn her back on Slade, come clean, and live made the entire finale for me. So thank you for that, and now some questions about Tara Markov herself:

1) Why did Bedlam originally have her kidnapped, then tarred, then sold off? Had Slade's 'rescue' of her been a scheme between those two?
2) How much time passed between her original kidnapping, tarring, and the 'rescue'?
3) Tara can be extremely reticent in the show, often holding back in large conversations (though her glances around, gestures, and expressions have been very interesting to keep an eye out for on my rewatches). When she chooses to speak she's generally very forthright and direct, even if she's not sparing with her words. How did you decide on this pattern for her, and how did you decide on when she'd speak up and when she'd hold back?
4) Tara seemed very reluctant to tell Slade when Gregor was visiting them in America - had she expected the coup to take place, and if so, how did she expect it to end? Once Slade ordered her to kill Gar, what had she thought would happen afterwards?
5) In the ending montage, we see Tara and Halo attending Happy Harbor High, after her trial at the Hague. Even if Snapper Carr smoothed over any legal issues, how did the other students, teachers, and parents react to finding out that a foreign princess assassin had been attending, and would continue to attend, public high school in Rhode Island?

Greg responds...

1. DeLamb had learned he was a meta-human and wanted to see if his niece was, too.

1a. In essence, yes.

2. Tara was abducted on July 28th, of Team Year Six. She was meta-activated in early August of that year, and "rescued" by Deathstroke in Early September.

3. It seemed to work for someone who was keeping secrets.

4. Tara was conflicted - and so turned around that the notion of consequences had been blurred to non-existent in her mind.

5. It may have been overshadowed by Fred Bugg revealing himself as Forager. But basically, having two Outsiders at the school was largely applauded by the student population. Some teachers and parents may have been more reticent, but there wasn't any significant protest...

REALLY GLAD OUR VERSION OF TERRA WORKED FOR YOU! I MEAN IT!

Hi Greg. I have a few questions:
1) Why was Jade so absent in season 3?
2) Was there any problem with Kelly Hu?
And since in episode 325 Lian said something like "we need to find Cheshire for Daddy" (if I'm not mistaken):
3) Does Lian know that Cheshire is her mom?
4) In fact, does she even know or remember who her mom is?
And last but not least:
5) Did Will actually believe what Jade said about being a soccer mom and all that?

Greg responds...

1. Was she? Did she get significantly more time in Seasons One and Two? If so, I guess the answer is that story drives the use of our characters, as always.

2. No. She was great, as always.

3. Yep.

4. Yep.

5. Believe? I don't understand.

Hi Greg. There are a few things related to the anti-life equation that I am still unclear on following season three.

1)What was the original purpose of Granny's machine? I ask because it seems to me the only thing it was good for was inflicting pain - without Halo to provide the anti-life equation.

2)I'm still not sure how Halo = the anti-life equation. Could you please try to explain it to me?

3)Thank-you for treating Kirby's anti-life equation seriously. In Kirby's fourth world mythology, the equation was something very specific. Some other depictions depict it very vaguely. You didn't. You did your homework. Thanks.

4)What did you think of the Hunger Dogs as an ending to Jack's Fourth World saga?

5)How are you?

Greg responds...

1. It created the ability to spread the Ghost Dimension ad infinitum.

2. Halo does not equal the anti-life equation. She's part of its mathematical formula. Watch the episode again. Granny spells it out mathematically with a lot of clarity.

3. We try.

4. I try to avoid offering up those kinds of reviews on DC Comics stuff, as I don't want people to tie my opinions to what may or may not happen on Young Justice.

5. Can't complain. (I mean I do complain all the time, but really I shouldn't.) I'm employed (at least through early November), and everyone in my family is healthy. So, really, I'm doing great. Thank you.

Hello. I'm the anonymous 7 posts back who asked about Icon not being at the big meetup in Nevermore, and I realized that I just missed his name in Guy's list. Whoops.

I'm also the anon who asked about the A-series designations between Tye Longshadow and Dolphin. As was the case with that question, I assume I'm gonna get a big old "SPOILER REQUEST" for most of this, but maybe you're in a sharing mood.

1. Did El Dorado and Cyborg receive B-series designations upon their joining the Outsiders?
2. On the Young Justice backpack that was given away at SDCC 2019, some characters had designations listed with their names. Should the ones not used in the show be considered canon? (I'm thinking specifically of the Z-series for "Batman, Inc." and Stone, Victor G-08.)
3. If Vic is G-08, and Halo is G-03... care to reveal who are G-04, G-05, G-06, and G-07? The only possible option I can come up with is Dr. Jace.
4. There are three Z-series designations missing on said bag (Z-03, Z-04, and Z-06). Should I assume they are Plastic Man, Hardware, and Metamorpho (in that order or another)?
5. Long shot time. Will you reveal the League designations between Aquaman 27 and Steel 36?

Thanks for your time!

Greg responds...

1. Yep.

2. They are accurate (if now, as of the end of Season Three, outdated).

3. No spoilers.

4. No spoilers (but you're two-thirds right).

5. Nope.

Hey Greg I got a question regarding Batman on earth 16.

I know the real-life answer is just that they are different characters and giving superpowers to Batman doesn't fit him, but, still, I've always wondered why no empowering entity ever chose Bruce Wayne as a champion.

Say Why didn't SHAZAM chose Bruce Wayne Over Billy? Bruce already had the training, maturity, and skills, and instead, he decided to empower an orphan kid.

Same for other people giving powers like the guardians of the universe (or is it the ring that chooses?) going over people like Guy over Bruce.

Have you thought of an explanation for that?

Greg responds...

I could say that Billy has a purity of heart that Bruce doesn't have. That Hal, John and Guy have a greater ability to overcome fear with willpower. But really, the premise of the question doesn't work for me. There are billions of people on Earth. Why assume that Bruce is the be-all/end-all of humanity?

1) So are the titles of the series just meant to be meaningful? Like for example, in Young Justice: Outsiders, Beast Boy's team is called "The Outsiders" even though Black Lightning, Halo, and Geo-Force are the original Outsiders.

2) Is it like a metaphorical title about characters feeling like outsiders?

Greg responds...

1. I'm not sure I understand the question. The Outsiders from the comics are an influence, but this is Earth-16 continuity. The Outsiders refer to a state of mind, a social phenomenon and, ultimately, a new team of heroes, founded by Beast Boy.

2. That's part of it.

In the Young justice episode Overwhelmed when Super boy took Forager to Geranium city some thoughts crossed my mind 1. What do Benny, Erin, Kraig, and Karen all do for a living in geranium city? 2. What do each of the human disguises of the aforementioned Genomorphs look like? 3. Do thay each use the real names when outsiders are in town or fake names like Dubbilex does? 4. Are there any other secret Genomorph cities besides Geranium city?

Greg responds...

1. No spoilers.

2. No spoilers. For now, what you see is what you get.

3. They use their real first names and have adopted surnames.

4. Not at this time.

Hey Greg,
Q1)I wanted to ask regarding the castings for Young Justice Outsiders, How did you and the crew decide to give the roles of Geo-Force, Terra, Halo, Forager,Cyborg and Darkseid to Troy Baker,Tara Strong,Zehra Fazal,Jason Spisak, Zeno Robinson and Michael Leon Wooley?
Q2)And for replacments decide on David Kaye and Greg Cipes to be Vandal Savage and Beast Boy, i know regarding Greg as Beast Boy u did not cast him in the initially because u did not want any Teen Titans reprisals at the time so what change your mind instead of picking another actor because Logan Grove was unavailable for S3?

Greg responds...

Geo-Force - Brandon had worked with Troy Baker before and knew he was a good candidate to play Geo-Force/Brion Markov. We did have him audition (against no competition) just to confirm he could do the Eastern European accent without it sliding into Boris Badenov territory. He could. So we cast him. And he's been great as Brion and other characters ever since.

Terra - We held auditions for Terra/Tara Markov, and Tara Strong just nailed it.

Halo - I knew I wanted to cast Zehra Fazal as Halo / Violet Harper / Gabrielle Daou, and basically wrote the part with her in mind. Brandon and Jamie and I went to see her in a stage play, where she played multiple roles, so that they could confirm just how great and versatile she was.

Forager - With Wally West largely out of the picture, we knew we wanted to find something else to keep Jason Spisak in our cast. Brandon thought Forager would be a good bet and talked about the character with Jason, who loved the idea. We hired him without any try-out, and he was instantly great.

Cyborg - We held auditions for Victor Stone/Cyborg under the false flag of a pretend show with a fake character name. Zeno Robinson was our clear favorite for the role. We brought him in for a callback (with no competition), mostly to see if he had the versatility to play any other roles (such as Steel). We decided then and there that he was our Vic, and seeing Brandon and I in the Control Room, he had already begun to suspect whom he might be playing. We told him he had the role and confirmed he was playing Cyborg, and he practically BURST right in front of us. It was great fun.

Darkseid - We had already discussed a number of potential people to find YJ's version of Darkseid, when Brandon remembered Michael Leon Wooley's performance of the character from Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Jamie and I listened, and immediately Michael had the job.

Vandal Savage - We held auditions to see who could do the best job performing in the giant shoes that the late, great Miguel Ferrer had left behind. David Kaye was the clear favorite.

Beast Boy - When it became clear that Logan Grove was not going to be available to us, we talked with Jamie about who might be able to take his place. After we described the character's journey in Season Three, Jamie suggested Greg Cipes, knowing that we might not go for it, but feeling like Greg'd be perfect for the part. I'd worked with Greg on W.I.T.C.H. and agreed, but our upper management had been pretty adamant about us not using Titans' lead actors to play the same roles they had played on Titans. (Other Titans' actors were kiboshed for certain parts for that reason.) It was something Brandon and I initially agreed with way back in Season One, but by this time, we felt YJ had established itself as its own thing, and we were less afraid of comparisons. And for whatever reason, TPTB were fine with us casting Greg as Beast Boy.

Hey, Greg.

Watching Young Justice season 3, and was shocked by the appearance of designations A41 and A42. Given that the highest known A-series designation prior to this is A20 (Tye Longshadow), it seems like a lot has happened in the two-ish years between Endgame and Quiet Conversations.

I know you are loathe to reveal designations in an off-screen environment, so I won't ask who the missing twenty names are (or even the still-unrevealed A08, A09, and A14), but do you know exactly who those numbers are?

On another note, in Away Mission, the computer reads a designation as "Pierce comma Jefferson G01". But in Humanity, it reads a designation as "Zatanna Zatara A03". Is there any rhyme or reason to which designations are last-name-first or first-name-first?

Thanks!

Greg responds...

1. I do know exactly who the numbers are for. But, no, I won't be revealing any of that here.

2. The A-Designations are first name first. The G-Designations, hacked into the system by Dick Grayson are "[Last Name]-comma-[First Name]-G-[Two-Digit-Number]"

Hey Greg, got two questions for you

1. How did you meet Brandon Vietti?

2. I ask because I'm a big of the DCAU, how did Rich Fogel get involved with the series?

Greg responds...

1. Brandon and I met a couple times when I was at Sony and when I was freelancing for WB. But, honestly, we really didn't meet for real until Sam Register teamed us up to develop a new series for WB Animation. (That series was a Green Lantern series that was never made, followed by a Space Ghost series that was never made, before we finally were assigned to Young Justice.)

2. Rich and I go way back to my Disney days. He and Mark Seidenberg were partnered up, editing Gummi Bears. We've kept in touch, on and off, over the years. And more recently, we were both staff writers on Shimmer & Shine. I truly loved the Shimmer & Shine writing staff (Stephanie Simpson, Dustin Ferrer, Kevin Hopps, Cisco Paredes, Andrew Blanchette and Rich), so when YJ started up again I tried to get everyone to write an episode for Season Three and/or Four. Stephanie and Dustin haven't had the time, but the rest have all pitched in for an episode or two. (Of course, Kevin was already a YJ writer.)

Hello Greg, In YJ, what is the thought process behind each season's time jump, how do you and the creative team decide the length of each jump and how do you believe they add to the characters and the overall narrative?

Greg responds...

Again, this has been covered in the ASK GREG ARCHIVES multiple times. But generally, we think it allows us to show the growth and maturation of our young characters.

The length of the time jump is generally determined by both what we want to hide (and later reveal) about our characters and when in the timeline does the story fall that we want/need to tell.

Greg responds...

It's a legal decision that's way above my paygrade to credit the creation of all Milestone characters to the Milestone company. That's all I know. But I don't think it began with Season Three. Didn't we do the same thing in Seasons One and Two?

English is not my mother tongue, so I wanted to ask you 2 questions
1. in Earth 16 Superboy is the best friend of the third robin Tim Drake and Kid Flash / Bart Allen as is the case of the new Earth and Young Justice Rebirth?
2. the fourth season in which month of 2020 will it leave?

Greg responds...

1. I think for Earth-16, what you see on screen is what you get. Conner is friendly enough with Tim and Bart, but they were in a younger class, and he's closer to/with the folks he came up with.

2. I think you asked this already, so I'm not sure why you're asking it again. I know English is not your first language, but I'm not sure what you mean by "leave". I can't tell if you're asking me an in-universe question about when the show is set, the answer to which would be NO SPOILERS - or a question about when the series will drop in 2020, the answer to which is obviously that it didn't and was never, ever going to be ready in time for 2020. Granted, you wrote this in 2019, so if you would want me to update the question for 2021, the answer is that the show will drop when HBO MAX decides it wants it to drop. And they haven't announced that yet.

So, firstly. Thanks for responding to all our comments, it probably gets a little bit annoying sometimes, but its really cool that you interact with your fans, and I hope you keep doing it! ^_^

So for my questions-
1. You've said you dislike how time travel works in DC. It does seem really confusing. I've flipped through all mentions in previous comments and have come up with a question regarding Bart.

So, you've said "Earth-16 had a history that Impulse thwarted. You can view his original history as Earth-16a, I suppose. Or you could just mark it up as GONE."

So, if such is the case, would Impulse be at risk of fading away? Does only the future itself fade, and Bart avoids it by not being there? Time travel is really complicated to write, so I just wanted clarity on that.

2. The team started with the original 6, being Superboy, Ms.Martian, Kid Flash, Robin, Artemis, Aqualad. Now there are somewhere around 19 members that are on the team or are associated with the team. Do you ever feel like it is hard to balance so many characters?

3.Does giving an individual character like Bart or Cassie development get harder as more characters are added?

Thanks for your time/responses, it means a ton to me. \(^_^)/

Greg responds...

0. I'm still doing it. It just took me a while to get back to it.

1. I kinda have addressed this in the past, but for now I'm going to say NO SPOILERS.

2. I do. Many fans seem to think it's even more difficult for us than we think it is.

3. Of course. But I'm basically okay with that. When the story dictates that one character or another is the lead, that's great - we'll move them into the spotlight. But until then, our leads remain Dick, Kaldur, Conner, M'gann and Artemis, with whichever two to four additional characters that the season dictates gets the spotlight.

I mean I liked how he was this menacing villain in season 1 and 2, and even inherited the Xanatos "revenge is a sucker's game" thing.

But I remember In a panel you did with Marina Sirtis you said that you hoped your villains were smarter than Donald Trump

And now... he is acting like him in many ways. The "sad" commment, the social media obsessiom, the "fake news thing", being less competent this season.

So my question is, are you going to keep him as this incredibly intelligent mastermind? or is he going to be downdraded to a discount Donald Trump?

I'm loathe to admit it, but some of what the Orange Crush did was fairly smart when it came to manipulating the public - or at least his base. That's the piece we gave Luthor. But I still believe Lex is much smarter than our former Disaster-in-Chief - plus he has better hair.

I saw a message on the archives in regards to cloning and sexuality. As an identical twin, I know me and my sister do not have the same sexuality despite having the same DNA. I know there's also nature vs. nurture. Would you consider cloning to be similar to the shared DNA of twins in the YJ universe? If so, would it be possible for one of the Roys (like Jim or original Roy) to have an attraction to a guy or, say, a genomorph without a gender, in contrast to Will's clear attraction to women. I am not asking if that is the case, but rather if it is possible.

On another note, I am an avid Young Justice fan who loves your show and is looking forward to Season Four. I hope Starfire or Raven or Supergirl or other characters that are popular but have yet to show will show up!

One last question, do you ever look at the YJ fanfiction archives? Either out of curiosity or for inspiration? Just curious if you or Brandon ever peek at those!

Thanks and love your show!

1. I honestly don't know enough about the science to be sure. But I suppose I could do more research. So the short answer is: "It's possible?"

2. We don't take requests. We can't take suggestions.

3. Never. It's legally dangerous for me to read fanfiction covering anything I work on professionally. The same is true for Brandon.

My question concerns a moment from "Triptych," where we see Orphan slice 'Jervis Tetch' in half, who is then revealed to be Clayface. Arrowette responds to these actions with: "Did you know Tetch was really Clayface, or did you just not care?"

I was intrigued by this for a couple of reasons, given the fact that I'm a huge fan of Cass Cain. This scene brought two major elements of her character to mind.

First, the fact that Cass' whole backstory comes from the fact that she was raised to be a weapon in service of the League of Assasins. She wasn't taught to speak or read, just to kill. But when she took her first life, the terror in the man's eyes drove her away from her father David Cain, and eventually into the arms of Batman and her new family. But her dark past meant that Cass would NEVER take another life, and atoned for it every day as Batgirl and later Black Bat (and Orphan, in the new continuity). Because of this, I wondered as to why Arrowette would question Cass' lack of concern for Tetch's life.

But that brings to mind the second thing I thought of. As 'the One who is All,' Cass was raised to read people's actions through microexpressions and such. This means she could've easily recognized that Tetch wasn't who he appeared to be, if these comic book elements of her backstory were canon to Earth-16.

I don't want to ask anything that's too specifically spoilery, so I'll ask only this: when attempting to dig down to the core elements of Orphan's character, were these main values present in your minds, or were you going for a radically different interpretation of the character?

Thanks for your time! Hope to see more of Orphan in Season 4.

Greg responds...

1. You have to consider Arrowette's dialogue from HER point of view, not Orphan's.

2. I'm never going for a RADICALLY different interpretation of any character. We tried to get to the core elements of who Orphan was, just as with any other character. Anything beyond that does seem spoilery.

1. How old are Traya, Anissa, and Jennifer?
2. Was there any debate between the writers, producers, and actors over how to pronounce Lian? (I know some people including myself pronounced it as LeeAnn, and sometimes say that)
3. If it was Cadmus policy to delete the source material, how come they kept Roy alive and frozen instead?
4. How did Mal and Karen discover Conner's and Megan's real identities, or is that something we might see later?
5. What's your response and feeling when people come up to you and say that the show (or even Gargoyles) helped them during a difficult time, maybe even saved them from suicide?

Thanks!

3. In your mind, did Brion take Terra's place in your version of the Judas Contract story.

Greg responds...

1. Behind the scenes, I suppose lots of things may have been considered, but it was a long time ago, and we pretty much had the basic storyline in mind more-or-less from the start.

2. I don't think we ever considered killing Beast Boy then and there.

3. I'm not so in love with the necessity to viewing things in such a one-to-one schematic way. We weren't really doing much of an adaptation of Judas Contract. Not very many elements from that particular storyline were particularly present. We were doing an adaptation of a character, i.e. Terra, who happened to be introduced in that memorable New Teen Titans arc. But saying that Geo-Force took Terra's place is both accurate on one level and dead wrong on another. All depends how you define your terms, I suppose.

Hi, Greg! Hope production on Season 4 is going well.

Throughout Season 3, we get only one glimpse of Ray Palmer/Atom, standing on the Flash’s shoulder in the big group shot in “Nevermore.” He’s in costume and seems to still be operating as a member of the League. Yet, Kaldur’s line in “Princes All” indicated that all Earth-based League members were present “either in person or via hologram” at the Watchtower meeting. But unless he was at the subatomic level, Ray Palmer was nowhere to be seen.
1. Can we take this as confirmation that Atom was operating as a space-based Leaguer for most of Young Justice: Outsiders?

Season Four is going very well, thanks for asking. We have sixteen episodes in the can, six more in post-production, and four still being animated.

Hi, Greg!

First of all, I had just finished season 3 of Young Justice, and it was so overwhelming. It was very bittersweet, but so satisfying to see my favorite show again (and of course, congratulations on season 4! So excited for that!).

I wanted to ask a few questions related to season 3:

1. What was the hardest episode for you to write, and why?
2. I was also excited to see Geranium City and see what happened to the genomorphs! Missed those little guys!
2a. In what state is it located in, and why that state in particular?
2b. Do Jim and Amanda live in Geranium City, or do they have their own homes out of town but visit when they can?
3. I love all three seasons, but if you could change one thing and one thing only in each season, what would it be?
4. Was there ever a scene or storyline you wanted for seasons 1 or 2 that had to be pushed back into 3?
5. Which new character introduced in season 3 were you most excited about, and which one do you relate most to?
6. Thank you again for all the great work and effort you put into this show! Not only do I love the storytelling, but I love that you include characters that otherwise wouldn't have appeared in other adaptations!

Thank you again for a wonderful season!

Greg responds...

1. Script-writing on YJ is relatively easy, as we work off detailed outlines. And writing up the outline is fairly simple, as we're working off an extremely detailed breakdown on index cards. So the question becomes what was the most difficult episode to break on the cards. And it's been so long, I honestly don't recall. But I'd guess episodes 424 and 426 were among the hardest. And I didn't personally write the scripts to either.

2. We were excited to show you!

2a. No spoilers.

2b. They live there.

3. I try not to think that way.

4. Yes.

5. It was nice finally seeing Darkseid, but honestly, I was pretty pumped for a whole bunch of characters, including Halo, Forager, Geo-Force, Cyborg and Terra.

6. Thank you for your kind words! And for watching!

How did Ed teleport into the X-pit?

In YJI, he said that he could only teleport along his line of sight.

So when we saw him teleport with Wendy in YJO from a sealed room to outside the building, I thought he had just improved his powers in such a way that he could teleport to a place he can visualize, even if he can't see the place at the time of teleporting.

However, there was no way he could visualize the X-pit. He's never seen anything like it, never experienced it before, and I highly doubt Jeff, Dick or Kaldur described to him what it was like in detail before the Outsiders went off on their mission.

The best explanation I could come up with was that maybe he visualized his team members as his destination, but I don't really know, so.

Thanks in advanced!

Greg responds...

Even in Season Two, we showed Ed teach himself to teleport out of his line of sight.

By Season Three, El Dorado can just do it. And he was teleporting down into the studio warehouse below, which sent him to the X-Pit, just as it sent Kid Flash, Vic, Beetle, etc., there.

Sorry, I'm trying, but having a bit of trouble following you here.

You're asking, I think, how the Team remained covert before the Outsiders became public, even though some people saw them here and there.

And if that's the question, the short answer is, they aren't holding press conferences. People may spot them, but then the Team vanishes into the night. And although some of the Team are famous proteges, most are full-time covert heroes, including Nightwing, Superboy (until episode 326), Miss Martian, Tigress, etc.

Dick was a public hero as Robin, but when he switched to Nightwing, he let Jason take over the Robin role, and he went covert as Nightwing. And he's never come out publicly in this new heroic identity.

Mr. Weisman,

I made a mistake in a previous posting; here is the correct one below:

Thank you very much for a wonderful Season 3 of Young Justice; you've even managed to tease us with a Legion of Superheroes ring from whom I presume to be Saturn Girl. Depending on the length of the next time-skip for Season 4, I had initially wanted to tell you which DC Comics characters that I wish to see, but then I decided to hold off on that because I suspect you might probably say that there would be no absolute certainty in regards to who might appear and because you had mentioned that Season 4 will focus on a smaller group of characters. However, with the possible introduction of Earth-16's version of the Legion of Superheroes, I personally hope this move will somehow lead to their own spin-off series; because I'd personally like to see your own unique twist(s) on that superhero team of the future.

Greg responds...

That's very kind. Thank you. I'm not saying that wouldn't be fun. But we don't have a pick-up for Season Five as of yet, nor has there been any talk of spin-offs. Right now, we're just focused on finishing off Season Four.

1. Did Halo's rainbow aura heal the non-metas from the ghost dimension and are no longer going to die from exposure?
2. If Halo did heal The Team and the Justice League, did she then heal Jaime since he was a non-meta exposed?
3. Since Helga Jace was exposed in "Antisocial Pathologies" and has not been around Halo since, does that mean she is still dying of the anti-life equation?

Greg responds...

1. There aren't necessarily lingering effects unless exposure was prolonged, as it was with Dick. But Halo sped up the recovery process.

2. Maybe. But again, his exposure was relatively minimal.

3. No. Again, that was a brief exposure, relatively.

We know that Bruce Wayne is the legal guardian of Dick and Tim in Young Justice, but I wondering if this applies to the E-16 versions of his other kids.
- Was Bruce Wayne the legal guardian of Jason Todd?
- Is Bruce Wayne the legal guardian of Cassandra Cain?

Greg responds...

Do we know that Bruce is the legal guardian of Tim in YJ? I'm not saying he's not, but I don't ever remember revealing that, so I'm not saying he is, either. And if I won't confirm Tim, I'm obviously not going to confirm Jason or Orphan.

1. In "Princes All," we see Batman blink. Through his mask. Multiple times, at the Justice League meeting. Why? One would assume that he simply has lenses in his cowl. Is he wearing white contacts? Is he blinking behind them, and the animation is weird? Was this intentional?

Greg responds...

I honestly don't know. I'd have to look at it again.

If Lady Shiva had not interfered when she did, would Ocean Master have actually succeeded in killing everyone at Iris West-Allen's house or would Bart and Mera have been able to stop him?

Greg responds...

Without warning, I doubt Mera could have done anything. Bart's more debatable, I suppose, but I've never subscribed to overpowering speedsters to the point that they can fix everything. I think you have to assume that at least 90% of the attendants would have died. Maybe 100%.

In Bowhunter Security Will mentions that Dick was trying to use him as a Wally West replacement.
a) Did Dick chose Roy and Jim as Wally West replacements?
b) If not, was Jim chosen as a Ted Kord replacement?
c) Was Roy Harper chosen as a Jason Todd replacement?

Greg responds...

Dick wasn't conscious of seeking a Wally West replacement, so trying to create a one-to-one relationship between the Harpers and various dead heroes doesn't really track for me.

In young justice i see that Trajectory of infinity Inc has a Southern accent to her voice what state in the south call Home?

Greg responds...

I don't know that we've nailed that down yet. I have a vague memory of her coming from Georgia. But I'd have to do some research and confer with Brandon to confirm that.

Is Elongated Man considered as a meta human or just a human with powers?
I ask this because even though he has his stretchy powers, when Granny Goodness was explaining the negative effects of the Anti-Life equation on normal humans, we saw the green lanterns (who are normal humans) but also Elongated Man, who seem like he was having problems controlling his powers.

Greg responds...

Elongated Man is not a meta-human (at least not on Earth-16). He's a human who takes a "potion" to get his powers.

Hello Greg, big fan of the show. Loved it since the beginning and I'll love it till the end.

In short, my question is about the newer members of the Justice League, the ones introduced in season 3. With your usage of designations, we are able to see the timeline of how the membership grew. From the first member (Superman 010 and the newest member from season 2 (Rocket 26). Now from the beginning of season 3 you showed us that Kaldur, now taking the Aquaman mantle from Orin, became a member of the League after Rocket, with a designation of 27. In the same episode you also show us another new member, Steel, who you gave the designation of 36. It would stand to reason that there is at least 8 additional members that we have not seen. In that same first episode you also showed us 3 other new heroes that were confirmed to be part of the JL (Batwoman, Katana and Hardware). That lead the total of members not known to be 5 members. Later, in another episode you confirmed that the character Fire (although not seen) and the character Elongated Man (introduced in another episode) to be members as well. This now leads to 3 unknown members. Now we also saw a couple of character on the first episode in the planet Rann with the league. This included Adam Stange, a character you introduced in season 2, and the character of Ice. However, you did not state if either of these two heroes were part of the League. And if they were members, that would still leave one spot in the league filled by an unknow character. Many have theorized that this spot belongs to Metamorpho, another character you introduced in season 3, but it is unknown.
So, my questions are:
1. Are Ice and Adam Strange official members of the JL?
2. Was Metamorpho ever a member of the JL?
3. Is Steel the latest recruit of the League or are there other heroes after him?
4. Could you fill the designations between Aquaman II (27) â€" Steel (36)

Greg responds...

1. Ice is.

2. Not through the first 25 and a half episodes of Season Three.

3. No spoilers.

4. Yes, I could.

5. Is his identity kept mostly secret from his fellow Leaguers, or are some aware of it?

Greg responds...

1. Yep.

2. Elongated Man debuted in Team Year Six.

3. Team Year Seven.

4. I don't generally reveal designations here.

5. All are aware.
