Did Lexington ever want to have children? (Biological children, not adopted since you have implied/said he hasn't realized he's gay yet.)

Does Lexington prefer to single or is he craving to have some kind of sexual/intimate relationship like the others? Some people out there prefer staying single because relationships have a tendency to get really messy or they're just busy and they're happy being single. It can show either maturity or just plain bitterness/hurt.

What kind of relationship avenue does he prefer: intellectual, emotional, or physical? Everyone's different about that so I thought I'd ask.

Greg responds...

1. Lex probably wants kids some day, but he's a gargoyle and biological offspring are of little significance relative to clan offspring. You're thinking like a human.

2. I think Lex is in no hurry, but, yes, he wants an intimate relationship eventually.

3. All of the above.

Are you really sure you want to eventually turn Lexington gay? It's estimated that 72% homosexuals have an STD of some kind. Check out these statistics from the CDC.gov site (Center for Disease Control):

*Note: everything listed here is cited!!*

72% of homosexuals had HIV in 2005
http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/msm/resources/factsheets/msm.htm

over 40% of all STD cases occurred amongst homosexuals in 2002
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/hepatitis/msm/nastad_ncsd.htm

infection of HIV co-infections with syphilis has ranged from 20%-70%
http://www.cdc.gov/std/syphilis/STDFact-MSM&Syphilis.htm#common

STD positive cases for homosexuals who participated in getting tested
Gonorrhea: 1-21%
Syphilis: 11%
Chlamydia: 6%
http://www.cdc.gov/std/stats/msm.htm

CDC estimates 64% of MSM comprised of cases for P&S Syphilis cases in 2004:
http://www.cdc.gov/std/stats04/trends2004.htm

MSM (homosexual men) are at incresed risk for multiple STDs:
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/hepatitis/msm/dear_colleague.htm

Gonorrhea increased in MSM (men who have sex with men) to 23% in 2004:
http://www.cdc.gov/std/stats04/gonorrhea.htm

Rates of STDs in MSM for 2005, slides 73-80:
www.cdc.gov/std/stats/slides/SurvReportSlides2005.ppt

Many STDs go undiagnosed because many of the diseases lack symptoms. There are more than 25 diseases that prevail and cost the health industry millions of dollars to treat. Symptoms are more noticeable in women than they are in men many times and women carry a heavier burden under then when infected. Some STDs are on the rise while others are coming to be under control and are either viral (viruses- most are incurable) or bacterial (which can be cured with antibiotics):
http://www.cdc.gov/std/Trends2000/Trends2000.pdf

Thousands of cases go undiagnosed until it is usually too late and serious side effects occur. Here's to healthier beings, humans and gargoyles alike!!

I do NOT necessarily credit these statistics, but in any case, they're immaterial. What the HELL does citing these have to do with anything?

Me again. (You remember me of course. *Shifty glance* *Ahem*)

My question is this, how do you think the environment of the comic book will allow you to address the... uh... 'issue'(?) of Lex's sexuality. Will it be easier to reveal than in the TV show? Not as easy? As I'm betting on the former, will it still be difficult due to disney's need to check every issue?

Or is it just something that we'll all find out when the time comes?

I hate yes/no questions, so I'll submit a bit more intellectual question asap!

Greg responds...

As I've stated before, I will attempt to write Lexington with consistency -- but not explicitly.

Hello Again Greg! I hope you are well. And now onto the Question:

Are Goliath and Elisa the Only Cross-Species couple out of favorite 8 Gargoyles, the Manhattan Clan?

We know that Booklyn ends up with Katana, Bronx with Boudicca, and Broadway with Angela, Hudson has already had and lost a mate. I guess it is pretty apparent as to why I ask this question, for you are no fool at all. I will gladly join the ranks of the fans who have an intense interest in Lex's mate whoever he is. When I was younger and watched the show I always felt Lexington was the cutest one, and now that I am an adult, I still feel the same. I also seem to (coincidentally) be attracted to men with a build similar to Lex's, and I would love to know what kind of guy, gargoyle, Fae (or alien???) our little green friend would go for.

I hope you find it in your heart to answer! Thanks to you and yours!!

Greg responds...

Jarrod, it's a perfectly legit question. But, no. I don't find it in my heart to answer. I've given away SO much already. The fact that you can blithely mention Katana in a post, as if you've already met her is somewhat depressing, you know? You gotta leave me a few secrets now that I have the comics.

Okay, this is a question that's been on my mind for a while now. I've always wondered, was it a little harder for Lex to learn to type on a computer because he only has 4 fingers on each hand instead of five? Would it take him longer to type something up than a human because of this?

Thanks for your time.

-Charisma82

Greg responds...

Never having had five fingers and never having had a keyboard before, I think he wasn't too hampered by a handicap he wasn't aware of. Though a keyboard is designed for ten fingers, to a first-time observer, one could argue that it was designed for someone with 48 or more fingers. Yet we all adapt.

Why does Lexington have to be gay? I am a girl and I'm insulted by this. I was always told being gay is a sin. As a fan I don't believe he's gay at all.

Greg responds...

You are free to believe what you want, but in my personal opinion, whomever told you that being gay is a sin was at best misinformed, at worst evil. And I don't see how you could possibly be "insulted" by this revelation in any case. How does it effect you at all?

How will the others in the clan react to Lex being gay? Angela and the other boys may be more accepting, but Hudson and Goliath struck me as "old school" in terms of acceptance. (well, not Goliath as much. He is dating a human for christs sake!) Just curous.

Greg responds...

You're assuming that for Gargoyles, "Old School" means homophobic. I don't accept that.

In fact "Old School" for humans wasn't homophobic either. Homophobia is a relatively RECENT phenomena, as far as my (very limited) research has revealed.
