It isn't really much of a question, but all in all, I just wanted to say "Thank you". Thank you for all the high quality shows you produced that enriched my childhood and still give me intelligent and gripping entertainment in my favorite media, animated shows, as an adult.
Most off all, I also wanted to express my admiration for your resolve. While privately I may often joke bitterly about the "Weisman curse" whenever one of your shows gets unfairly canceled way too soon despite (arguably) having the best quality in the entire program. You will always have my gratitude for continuing to produce great shows despite all the stones placed in your way.
As for questions:
1. If you had the means to, would you do a Young Justice/Gargoyles Crossover?
2. Sorry to bring up this unfairly missed opportunity gain, but if you had remained on the staff for "The Roswell Conspiracies", do you think that show would at some point crossed over with Gargoyles?
3. In the spirit of question one, do you think Demona would make a good Red Lantern?
In any case, once again, thank you. Thank you for raising the quality and complexity of the already great W.I.T.C.H. cartoon, thank you for producing the best animated Spider-Man series to date, thank you for bringing Starshiptroopers to the screen in the way it should have been in the first place, thank you for doing such a great job with Max Steel, thank you for doing a huge part in keeping animated DC material extremely high quality, especially at the moment, and of course, thank you for Gargoyles, probably my favorite franchise ever, and I am rooting for you to one day get it back and do more wonders with it.
1. I don't think so. Maybe as a radio play. But I don't see the two universes as being particularly compatible.
2. No. Two different companies.
3. See, this kinda thing doesn't interest me much. If you think so, great.
Thanks for all your kind words.
I was recently rereading your old series bible for "Roswell Conspiracies", and two of the names of the characters seemed familiar to me: Cedric Harris and Tri Chung. I pulled out my copy of "Clan-Building" and spotted them - yep, both were named as members of the Gargoyle Taskforce in #3. You really do take care never to waste anything.
That's true. Also, Cedric and Tri were my freshman roommates in college. I first tried to use their names in the Black Canary mini-series I wrote for DC, but which never got published. Cedric, I believe was the Chief of Staff to the mayor of Star City. Tri was the Mayor's husband.
After reading through the Roswell Conspiracy Bible, I have to ask, were the modern day political undertones in the story intentional? The Global Alliance for examples seems a lot like the US in its unilateral and heavy handed approach to dealing with the various alien groups.
Well, keep in mind I wrote that a decade ago.
Hey Greg
I've just finished reading your "Roswell Conspiracies" bible, there are some really great ideas in it. The ban on faster than light travel is somewhat revolutionary and unique in a show like this. It's a shame that it didn't work out but it did get me thinking about outer space and aliens in the Gargoyles universe so…
1) Do the "Greymen" exist in the Gargoyle universe?
2) Did the "roswell incident" or some version of it occur in the Gargoyle universe?
All things are true. One way or another.
1. Why does Siobhan try to kill Markus and betray the Alliance?
2. How was the alliance to defeat the agenda and the uber-villains?
3. Why does Markus become the final night officer? What happens to Hawking? What about the alliance?
Well, I remember more of this stuff, at least. But I'm still not going to answer. I may some day canabalize some of this stuff and use it.
And in any case, you're talking about material that would have covered episodes and episodes. This isn't the format for novel-length responses.
1) Have the Nosferatu discovered the secret of faster than light space travel? Is there an armada on the way?
You get that they didn't end up using my development to make the show, right?
I had some notions, but I never got the opportunity to work them all out -- and clearly the notions I had haven't stuck in my memory, BECAUSE I never got the opportunity to work it all out.
1.Why is Apollo working for the Skray? Is Niko also working for them? If so why?
2.Who was going to be replaced with a Vampyr?
3.Who was going to betray all that the Alliance stands for?
4.Who was going to be revealed as a Lycanth?
I'm not even sure all of the premises for your questions are correct. And I don't think I remember all the answers either.
Sorry.
Who exactly were the uber-villains going to be for Roswell Conspiracies?
Do the Greys actually exist?
What does Trish Ainsely know that the rest don't?
I just don't have these answers fresh in my mind. Sorry.
Concerning the VAMPYRU why aren't they afraid of sunlight like traditional vampires?
I don't remember, off the top of my head, either...
a) whether what you've stated is true or
b) if it is true, why.
Fact is, it's been a long time on a show I did NOT end up doing.
Sorry.
1.Are the NOSFERATU suppose to be the inspiration for the nagas of Indian and Japanese legends? If not what legends were they suppose to be the inspiration for?
2.And the skray are they suppose to be the inspiration for the mermaids of legend?
3.Concerning
3.
1. Mostly certain vampires.
2. More Creature of the Black Lagoon, in my mind. But I wasn't on the show long enough to work on the designs at all.
3. Very.
3. Couldn't agree more.
