Ok, I was wondering if you could give me some advice about how to get The Gathering to come to my home town. I can't go to any of The Gatherings because I'm in college and well. School comes first. Anyway, ya think ya could? Well, bye.

Where do you live?
(I applaud you for putting school first. But the Gathering is usually over a weekend in the summer, so I'm not clear why college alone is an impediment.)

A skip tracer tracking a bail jumper, who's also being pursued by other factions and is in pursuit of something herself. They wind up joining forces with each other and with one of the factions.
(At least that's the main story in my version of the pilot. For more details, ask someone who was at Gathering '99 in Dallas.)

I know you've been asked this before, but because I don't know if it has changed, what else can fans do, to try to get Gargoyles back?

As I've said, the best thing they can do is attend the Gatherings. Nothing tops that.
But if anyone wants to initiate a worldwide snail mail letter campaign, I'd currently emphasize putting the series out on DVD. That's a realistic short term goal that would contribute to our overall goal.

I would really like to attend a gathering convention, i really would, but I can't, i'm fifteen and entering the ninth grade so I wouldn't be able to attend any Gathering Conventions until the year 2007.

Ask your parents to come with you. Others have done this and had a good time. Even the parents, I believe, have had a good time.

OK, I do realize the banquet was SUNDAY night. (I've been home sick which doesn't help with my sense of time, especially not right after a holiday.) I'm also used to going to Friday-Saturday-Sunday events where awards dinners, etc. happen on Saturdays. Have GATHERINGs generally been three day affairs, or does it vary from year to year?

Varies, as I recall.
Personally, I like it when it's a four day event because the result is you get TWO REAL DAYS. Friday and Monday people are arriving and departing. Saturday and Sunday they are THERE.
When it's a three day event, you only get ONE REAL DAY. It's still fun, but I like to milk it.

At some point at the Gathering, I overheard you telling some lucky fan or fans when Brooklyn learned to read. I was dashing off somewhere, probably trying to chase down Kanthara again (whom I finally caught on Monday-- Hi Kanth!), and I didn't get to eavesdrop on the whole thing. It sounded fascinating, and like part of a larger question about which gargs learned to read when. I sure wish I knew the answer, and I'd bet money that your other faithful readers want to know too. So...
We know when Hudson and Braodway learned to read-- they started right after "Lighthouse on the Sea of Time." When did the other members of the Manhattan clan learn to read?

Thank you, Mary. I believe Brooklyn learned to read shortly after awakening in the twentieth century. I believe Goliath learned from Demona in the tenth century. I believe Demona learned from the Archmage. I believe Lex learned in the tenth century too. Angela was taught by the Magus.

In "Deadly Force", the trio describe "Showdown" as a "new movie", but it's a black-and-white film. Were the trio using the word "new" in a comparative sense (the same way that Lexington described Shakespeare as a "new writer" in "Enter Macbeth"), or was it genuinely a recent film that happened to be shot in black-and-white rather than color?

It was either the latter or a restored rerelease of an old film. Either way, it was new to them.
