Who was Elisa's cat Cagney named for? Jimmy Cagney? Cagney and Lacey? none of the above?

Michael or Brynne Reaves came up with that name. Originally I thought it was for Cagney & Lacey. After all, Elisa's a female police detective and Chris Cagney was a female police detective. Then I found out (from Michael) that Elisa's Cagney was male. So I guess he was named after Jimmy.
