Hello! I'm very sorry to have heard about the license for the comic expiring, but I'm gearing up for the TPBs which should be out shortly (assuming amazon.com's dates are accurate).
Since the license for the comics has a questionable future at best, I was curious as to how likely Disney would be about licensing Gargoyles for other purposes, namely rpgs & video games. I am huge pen & paper roleplaying game fan (or nerd, for short), and the Gargoyles universe would make a great setting. How likely would Disney be to go for something like that, assuming Disney even knows what an rpg is?
TPBs are in fact out. If you don't have 'em yet, order 'em now! (Please.)
I'm sure Disney's willing to license it. The question is anyone interested in paying the licensing fee.
I recently came across a stand-up arcade cab version of the Gargoyles video game produced for the Sega Genesis. This game is themed in Gargoyles artwork and can play any Sega Genesis game via a cartridge slot in the control panel. I am trying to find more information about the origin, construction and marketing of this unit. I have reviewed the FAQ's and understand that you are not a gamer, but if you can point me in the right direction where I can get more information about this cab, I would greatly appreciate it.
You can see pictures of this unit on my blog at http://www.2old2play.com/Blog/waterborn

I'd be interested too, but I know nothing about this. Sorry.
Last question: If you were ever given the chance to work on a Gargoyles game on one of today's consoles, which one will it be and why? What kinds of things would you include in the game?
Thanks again, and sorry for the trouble I caused with the last question I asked in... March, was it? I'm not talking about Disney and licensing issues again. Thank you for your time.
I'm not a gamer. It's all greek to me.
I heard a rumor that a Gargoyles-themed world might be made for the in development Kingdom Hearts 3. I was skeptical at first but a little research showed that with the exception of some of the main characters who were voiced by mainstream actors (Goliath, Elisa, Demona, Xanatos, etc), a significant portion of the other Gargoyles voice actors are already working or have worked on KH (Jeff Bennett, Jim Cummings, Matt Frewer, Cree Summer). Do you know if there is any truth to this? From a story standpoint, the Gargoyle's universe seems to lend itself well to videogames like KH.
I'd bet it's just a rumor. I've heard nothing about this. I haven't even heard the rumor.
Dear Greg,
I've been trying to locate the original Gargoyles Trailer (or Teaser) featured on VHS from when I was younger (presumably, before the movie/show came out). It's the trailer that shows Elisa's perspective as stones fall from Xanatos's castle, where she comments: "What could be strong enough to leave claw marks in solid stone?" At the same time this is happening, the title "Gargoyles" is being panned across the screen (similar to "The Terminator"). I have not been able to find it on YouTube or Google search, or even this website. If you know of a link or website featuring it, I would appreciate your help locating it.
Thanks,
Nik Z.
I don't. Sorry. I'd suggest trying to find the Nightmare Before Christmas VHS on E-Bay. I think that's where it appeared. I think.
Ever been offered or interested in including the Gargoyles universe in the Kingdom Hearts series?
Never been offered. Would definitely be interested. (Not like they need my permission, of course.)
hey greg not really a queation just wanted to show you a video where the nostalgia critic added lyrics to the gargoyles theme.
enjoy

Yeah, I'd seen that. But thanks.
Do you think you would ever post the actual scripts of the shows you've worked on? W.I.T.C.H. , Gargoyles, Spiderman ect. I would love to read them. I've never actually seen a cartoon script and I was wondering the major differences format/process wise vs film scripts.(which seem easy to find off the internet, but I don't know any sites that offer libraries of animation and comic formats)Thanks!
PS love the new spiderman episodes!
Different issues for different shows.
For Spider-Man, the answer for the time being is no. The show is (hopefully) on-going, and posting the scripts -- even first season scripts -- might reveal secrets I don't want revealed.
For Gargoyles, I don't have electronic copies of most of the scripts. Really, I only have "The Journey". And I definitely don't have the time to transcribe them.
W.I.T.C.H. is more of a possibility. But you're asking about Format and all formatting would be lost if I posted the script here at ASK GREG.
Inspired by a discussion we had in the Comment Room two weeks ago, I wanted to ask about Gargoyle merchandise, from action figures and books to kites and food and beyond:
Do you currently have any merchandise displayed in your home?
What was your favorite piece of Gargoyles merchandise?
What piece was the biggest let down for you?
What piece of merchandise do you wish had been made? (Any thing from a squeaky toy, Beanie Babies, footie PJs, anything crazy that may pop into your head)
1. Yes.
2. The "READ" poster, I think.
3. Brooklyn's head, I guess.
4. An Angela action figure.
Hello Greg,
Gosh, it's been over 7 years since I asked a question here!
First off, I'd just like to say how thrilled I am that you still continue to push for Gargoyles to reach the fans. No matter the medium! Before the comics, I lived for the "Ask Greg" section of this site, (I still enjoy reading here when time away from work and my horses allows). The comics have really been a godsend. It's always a disappointment to find your favorite show has no new material in the works, so I commend you for helping to keep Gargoyles alive and available to us all no matter what obstacle you must cross.
I'm very upset to hear about the license situation with the comic, but I have not given up hope for the future spin offs and further stories.
I'd guess you write timelines and probably have notebooks and computer documents full of continuing ideas. Have you ever thought about doing an encyclopedia/compliation with all of the characters, places and events as well as future events you have outlined? (Obviously with Disney's approval of course)
I apologize if the question has already been asked. I searched the archives and didn't see a mention. (There are alot of pages!)
Best of luck, keep up the good work and Long live the Gargoyles!
I've thought often about it. No publisher has ever expressed any interest.
