the way you respond when people express disappointment about how certain characters are shafted rubs me the wrong way, you usually say something like that characters not a lead and people need to get over it, yes its ultimately your show and your story you want to tell, so you can pick the characters you want to focus on, but i think you should consider the fact that these characters dont belong to you, they are established characters that people have strong emotional attachments to since childhood, thats a big reason why people are so passionate about young justice in the first place, and comic readers will naturally get upset if they feel like a character they grew up with is not portrayed properly or not being treated with respect, i wish you were a little more sensitive with how you used them instead of stuffing as many as possible in the show

Greg responds...

I respect that you have wishes.

But I honestly don't know what you expect me to say to be "a little more sensitive".

Am I supposed to pretend that I agree with you?

I disagree that we don't respect our characters - any of our characters - no matter how minor. Nor do I think that any of them are being portrayed improperly. (Though I don't expect that 100% of our viewers are going to approve of 100% of our portrayals.)

And, as I've said many, many times before, there's ZERO agreement among the fandom as to which characters we're not giving enough screen-time to. So, if we featured your favorite characters more, there'd be a multitude of comments saying, "WHY ARE YOU FEATURING THEM, AND NOT THE ONES I WANT YOU TO FEATURE?!"

So given all that, we feature the ones we think our story is telling us to feature.

As to the issue of us "stuffing as many as possible in the show"... we're not doing that either. We bring in characters as the story dictates. And again, if I took a poll as to which characters not to add, in order to give more screen-time to other characters, I'd get no agreement there either. You say we have too many, but I get tons of comments begging for the addition of still more. "Where's Raven, dammit?!" "Give us Starfire!" etc.

So to whom should I listen?

Well, ultimately, the only thing that makes sense is for Brandon and I to listen to what the story is telling us.

I could pretend I'm sorry that that statement isn't more sensitive. Or I could just lay it out as our method of operation. I choose to do the latter.

And I try to pretend that I don't think your entire comment isn't entitled and myopic.

(Probably shouldn't have added that last sentence.)
