Thirty minutes left until the reairing of the Young Justice premiere, so I thought I'd pass the time asking a completely unrelated question.
I saw your recent response about zombies, and how you like the old-fashioned "voodoo zombies" but not the modern, post-Romero zombies. I at least partly disagree, as I feel the best zombie movies can be good vehicles for social commentary (for instance, I thought the recent Land of the Dead was a brilliant metaphor for war profiteering- on the other hand, Dawn of the Dead was probably pretty clever at the time, but criticism of shopping malls now seems hopelessly dated). But that's just a difference of opinion. I was more interested in seeing how zombies might show up in your work.
1. Did you think of Goliath in "Temptation" as a zombie? Was that intentional on your part?
2. Do you think zombies may make a more formal appearance in Gargoyles, or have you covered that ground in "Temptation?"
Thanks for reading. I'll probably write up a ramble on YJ sometime this weekend, once I've seen it.
1. Loosely, I guess.
2. At the moment I have no plans, but...
When I was asking if there will be some new villains in Young Justice, I wanted to say if you will create some more new caracters for this series ?
Depends how you define "new".
Since one of the tag lines of the show YJ is "don't call them sidekicks" and is early or DC JLA universe does that mean that there will be young superheroes that were not "sidekicks making appearances or fighting along with YJ team?
Don't confuse marketing with content.
In the theme song of the Spectacular Spider-man under one of the photos there is a headline reading " the final, fateful photo by Peter Parker". Was this hinting at something?
I don't recall that, so I'll say... no.
1. Ballpark figure: how many requests do you think you've gotten from fans to have Keith David voice Black Manta?
2. Do you have any favorite Young Justice character designs?
3. Have you ever seen the videos of Tim Gunn discussing superhero fashion? You should check them out on YouTube (though you might not agree with what he has to say about Black Canary).
1. Haven't counted.
3. I have. It's fun, and I agree with much of what he had to say but not all. Of course, he and I are coming at it from, uh, a different "orientation"... i.e. he's a fashion professional and I'm a comic book geek. ;)
Do the Young Justice teens each attend different schools?
Or will they stay located in one city for school?
And if im not mistaken Robin (13?) is in Junior High (Middle School), while the rest attend high school.
Wait and see...
Sorry if this question has already been asked before, but is there any chance of a Mecha-Nation collected edition in the foreseeable future? I've held off from buying any of the individual issues because I thought a collected book was all but a sure thing. Have you, Victor Cook, Greg Guler and the fine fellows at Ape Entertainment simply not given much thought to a collected edition, or are you waiting until more issues or stories come out before we'll see a collection?
Still waiting for issue #2 to come out.
I watched the pilot for Young Justice, and it was phenomenal. I love this original concept you and Brandon are creating by taking inspiration from past shows and comics. This show will certainly be a hit and hope it goes on for many seasons to come. The question I wanted to ask, was whether Keith David would be voicing any of the characters on this show?
Already asked and not answered.
umm i was wondering was it hard picking the members on your Young Justice team? or did you have a pretty good idea on who you wanted from the start and besides wonder girl were there anyone else you wanted on your team but couldnt get... oh im a big fan of young justice already and gargoyles was 1 of my favorite shows growing up and loved TSS it was a new and fresh start on a classic and i loved every episode
We tried to "walk in the door" with no preconceptions. Having said that, it wasn't all that hard. We settled fairly rapidly on our main cast.
When Young Justice dvd's get released, is there any footage of the actors doing their voices in the recording rooms for it?
I don't know.
