Why did Lian stay with her grandmother instead of her father, Roy, when Jade went with Sportsmaster to get revenge on Aqualad?
It made sense at the time.
I support this show 100%, I woke up every Saturday and watched every episode of season 2 and then bought them all on iTunes, but I must say it was quite disappointing in terms of character development. I know you've said season 2 was a story driven season as opposed to season 1, but I mean I expected a few things to be addressed. In True Colors, I expected since Robin was leading the team we would get some insight into why he is so insecure about leading and maybe go into Jason Todd's death and it's impact on the Bat Family. But no, he only leads for a few minutes and then we move right along into the Green Beetle storyline. When Artemis and Miss Martian were fixing Aqualad's mind, I expected we would maybe get a flashback on Tula's death and its impact. But no, we cut away for an episode and then all of a sudden we come back and he's cured.
My question is, were those things originally supposed to be developed and then had to be cut to fit in 20 episodes, or did you only care about the story to be told (which was still great and far superior to many other shows getting renewed)
We did what we wanted to do in the time allotted. Had we had more time and episodes there's no doubt that you would have had more detail on all sorts of things. (Though I can't guarantee our priorities would have matched up with yours.)
Why show Jason Todd if you were never going to address him?
Why not?
(And NEVER is a mighty big word.)
Of all the characters to make the lead of season 2, WHY Jaime Reyes? He has never been able to sustain a title for very long. He makes a fun guest appearance every now and then but I don't think his character is strong enough to sustain an entire show
Well, obviously we disagree.
What was the purpose of the Tim/Cassie pairing? It had no development in the show and had no impact on the story whatsoever. The only thing they appeared to have in common was that both of their characters were horribly underused and we have no idea about either of their origins. At least we got to see Cassie's interaction with WW, we never saw Tim and Batman's relationship. And instead of showing how they got together, we just randomly see them holding hands and then cut to yet another Miss Martian/Superboy moment...
The purpose was to show that life goes on and that things happen off-screen. We couldn't give every character equal time. (Though I'm not sure I'd agree that they were 'horribly underused'.) But we could show glimpses of what was going on with them.
So we know Artemis' middle name is Lian, is that a family name or is Lian named after her aunt, or does Jade just really like that name?
I think it's fairly safe to say Lian is named after her aunt. It may ALSO be a family name. And clearly Jade likes it.
I would like to know how Jason Todd died in Earth-16 and the impact his death had on Dick.
Noted!
Why did you think it was necessary to have so many romantic couples? I get that they're teenagers and teens and many adults are romance crazy, but from a story and character development perspective, it seemed a bit much, especially since so much story was being crammed in already to the point that character development was lacking, and the romances ended up just taking up screentime.
It felt like the right amount to us.
Was the bgm played during the scene when Wally and Artemis kissed in front of the Eiffel Tower the same as their theme in "Salvage"? I'm not sure. If so, it was a nice touch.
I can't remember. Sorry.
Does the team know that Red Arrow is married and has daughter? Did Batman know about nightwing's plan about Kaldur and Artemis going undercover?
1. They do now.
2. Well, he's Batman.
