Do you know any website besides here that has Gargoyles OST or Fan Made Gargoyles Music? I really love the music. Trust me, I have been looking for Star Fox music as well. (Don't bother with Star Fox)

Greg responds...

Nope, sorry.

Spidey question:

One of the things I notice upon rewatching the series is the awesome background music- did the show have a composer, and if so, who?

Greg responds...

The series wonderful composers were the Dynamic Music Partners: Lolita Ritmanis, Kristopher Carter and Michael McCuistion.

What are the musical scores playing in the Spectacular Spider-man episode Ganglands? Also what is the opera that is playing?

Greg responds...

The opera is Rigoletto. The rest of the music is by our composers, Lolita Ritmanis, Kris Carter and Michael McQuistion.

Thanks for doing such an amazing job with The Spectacular Spiderman. Both seasons are really enjoyable. I've just got two questions:

1) Why is it that a lot of the background music in season 2 was stuff that had previously been used in season 1? Aside from character themes, nothing seemed to be repeated in season 1, but in season 2, lots of music from previous episodes kept popping up again and again. Was a smaller budget used for the music in the second season?

2) The animation in season 2 seemed to be weaker than season 1 as well. Some episodes looked beautiful, but others seemed a bit choppy and off-model at times, like "First Steps" and "Identity Crisis". Was there a smaller budget for the animation in season 2?

Greg responds...

1. Themes were reused intentionally -- and by the second season we had a LOT more themes to reuse -- but to my knowledge, no actual music was reused, and I attended EVERY music spotting session, muisc preview session and sound mix.

2. No. We've had inconsistent animation here and there both seasons. Both our seasons contain some of our most gorgeous stuff and some of our weakest stuff.

Hello I was just wondering if you could help me with something I know you've answsered questions like this before but this one is different. I think that I would like to write lyrics and get paid for it haha I was just wondering if this is a real job? I know your not in the musuc bussiness but you are a writer and have written music before so any help would be apprciated. Were would I go with this? And who do I talk to to make this Happen? Thank you very much for your time and any help you can give, I really appriciate it!

Greg responds...

I wouldn't personally want to do it for a living, but it's fun to do every once in a while. But I'm afraid I have no career advice to give in this area beyond confirming, that yes, some people do lyric-writing for a living.

Personal question about your taste in music: what's your favorite kind of music to listen to? Im a country fan meself

Also, related to music, I know that youre not a fan of Gargoyles fanfiction (which makes perfect sense since its an ongoing story) but what do you think of fan-made music videos (or even fanart for that matter)? While listening to a country station today, one of my favorite songs came on. Its called 'Put A Girl In It' by Brooks and Dunn. Since I had Gargoyles on my brain at the time, I thought it would be a perfect song to describe the Trio before Angela arrived on scene. But do you also ignore AMV's like you ignore fanfiction?

Greg responds...

I have somewhat eclectic and perhaps old-fashioned tastes. I find myself listening to standards at work online at the Lounge.

I can't believe I'm evening asking this, it's so stupid.... but I was just skimming thru the archives, and found (from WAY back in 2003 or so, which makes me feel all the more stupid bringing this up) that u wanted Demona in the music video for "White Flag"
This is so eerie, b/c I thought the EXACT SAME THING when I heard that song. It would have been a heck of a lot more creepy if I didn't do that with nearly EVERY song I hear these days (at least when I'm bored.)
But there's one song in particular where it seems like EVERY FREAKIN' LYRIC is talking about Demona (please don't laugh or anything)- Avril Lavigne's "Happy Ending." Yes, Avril's kinda a guilty pleasure for me. The point is, I was just wondering if you had ever heard that song. I'm sorry for wasting your time (and completely embarressing myself) over such a dumb, DUMB question, but I just HAD to ask it. Just, do me a favor and ask Erin if she's got the CD ("Under My Skin") It's just, it's like if you guys ever did a Gargoyles musical (PLEASE don't!) I would expect her to sing that song to Goliath (who I think some kid wanted to sing Barry White-which I agree with, but I'm not too passionate about that.)
Anyway, done making a fool of myself, I'll just crawl under a rock now.
P.S.: Oh to heck with it, I've already made a complete idiot out of myself, I may as well do some product placement. If anyone besides Greg is reading this, please check out my new fanfics on the official gargoyles website (I know Greg's not gonna read it, and I simply have no shame.)

Greg responds...

I've heard some Avril songs on the radio, but I can't remember the titles, so I'm not sure if I've ever heard "Happy Ending" or not. I don't recall ever hearing an Avril song and going, "Hey, that's totally Demona." Whereas, "White Flag" really made me feel that way.

Greg,
I'd like to know (since the DVD just came out) if you plan on releasing a soundtrack of Carl Johnson's compelling music.

Greg responds...

I personally can't plan anything. It's not up to me. I'd of course love it if Disney did release it, but I'm sure that at this time they have no plans to do so.
