How does Demona get along with Samson and the rest of the cast in Gargoyles 2158?
Delicately.
In THE CAGE, while I understand Talon was eager to look for any excuse to blame Goliath for his troubles, how could he take in Xanatos' story so easily? I mean, he heard the whole presentation in METAMORPHASIS, he knew Xanatos financed everything, how could he be so willing to ignore that?
You're asking this from the man who had Demona say "What have I... What have THEY done to you?"
Never underestimate the power of denial, pal.
Hi Ya Greg! I have a good question. Why did Demona hated humans so badly? Plus, What makes her to go out there and rule over the world and trying to distroying humanity?
Hi Demona May,
Well, if the show didn't answer that one for you, I'm not sure what I could add. The short answer is that she's pretty messed up inside. She has experienced persecution and discrimination and tragedy, but much of that was caused by her own actions.
Can you be more specific?
Hi Greg
The other day I saw Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus. The play was performed outside, overlooking the Hudson river, and the view and the gardens remined me of Avalon. I thought the play was very good. I hear its not performed often and I could see why. The queen of the Goths, Tamora, reminded me so much of Demona while I watched it. She was just as dedicated to getting revenge on Titus Andronicus for the murder of her sons as Demona was on humanity.
Did you ever have Tamora in mind while handling Demona?
Well, not consciously. I've read Titus, of course. But I've never seen it performed. There's a movie version that just hit one theater in L.A. this week. It stars Anthony Hopkins, Jessica Lange and Alan Cumming (the voice of John Castaway in "The Journey"). I can't wait to see it.
Hudson didn't seem as upset as Goliath had been in the World Tour about Angela recognising Demona as her biological mother. Why was that? (I mean I see Hudson as the bastion of old style Gargoyle tradition. So shouldn't his reaction have been stronger than Goliath's had been?)
When? Are we talking about "The Reckoning"?
Hudson had the time and the distance to be steadier.
Goliath's head is still pretty messed up regarding Demona. It's much more personal. Much more psychologically dangerous.
Hudson can recognize that in Goliath and choose to act as a balancer. Hudson hopefully is more three dimensional than simply being the 'bastion of old Gargoyle tradition'.
I've always wondered: Why was "Temptation" given that particular title?
Doesn't it seem self-evident?
I guess not or you wouldn't be asking, right?
Demona was tempting Brooklyn.
There are a few deeper resonances as well, but I'd just recommend viewing the episode again...
Okay, here's a few more. THanks again. ;)
1. What does Demona think of the Illuminati?
2. What do they think of her?
1. I'm sure she regards them as a threat.
2. I'd guess she's regarded as a loose cannon.
In the "Avalon" trilogy, the Archmage's arsenal consisted of himself, the Weird Sisters, Demona and Macbeth. Why did he feel the need to have Demona and Macbeth? I know he said they were canon fodder, but why did he even need canon fodder? Couldn't the Weird Sisters have just waved their hands and eradicated every single gargoyle and human on Avalon? Why did he build his assault around those two? For all the trouble that the Weird Sisters went through in obtaining them, it just doesn't seem that they were worth it. How the Archmage told the Sisters to "guide their paths", you would've thought that they were instramental in some way to his plans; that he specifically needed those two. But what's so special about them?
Good question.
The answer requires looking at the situation on (at least) two levels.
Level One. Taken at face value, he did need cannon fodder. The Sisters had to be very careful how they operated, in order not to break Oberon's Law. And the Archmage had a few personal vendettas he wanted to deal with. So he needed Demona and Macbeth to handle some of the more mundane work of eradicating the enemy.
Level Two. Who said any of this was the Archmage's plan? Well, he did. But he was an arrogant bastard. So do you trust him? Where did he get the plan? By observing his future self carry it out. Where did his future self get the plan? By observing HIS future self carry it out. Maybe there's something larger going on here...
Ya think?
Hey, Greg! Umm, sorry for those other mega-posts, I kind of read the ramblings after I posted that. So, here are a few of my questions:
1. About Goliath's hair, well, I don't quite understand it, nor Demona's. How does it stand up like that?
2. How old was Demona when she was really, really old?
3. Could a gargoyle be hatched deformed? You know, like missing a leg or something.
4. Who created Goliath?
5. We know that gargoyles get cleaned during the day, but what about Elisa? How did she manage to survive in the skiff?
6. How can Brooklyn speak with that beak?
Well, I guess that's all for now. Have a nice day!
1. Huh? Some people's hair just does that. Look around.
These are all questions on different topics, so they must be submitted on separate posts.
Hi again Greg,
Ok, this question is in reguard to Demona and MacBeth's magical link. We know that they feel each other's pain; but does it only work with pain or do they share all physical sensations with each other?
~The B of R
Pain is more visceral. But they might share other things as well.
