I always imagined Wally and Jade liking each other for some reason, and then it hit me: Jade is like a darker, nastier, sultrier version of Artemis. So, my questions are:

1) Do Wally and Jade like each other?

2) Was it your intention to have the two sisters mirror each others personalities to some extent? Or, am I imposing my own interpretation after the fact?

Greg responds...

1. They don't have much of a relationship, honestly, i.e. haven't spent a ton of time together. But I think they had good days and bad.

2. Both.

These questions pertain to Dick and Zatanna, and were not asked, as far as I can see, having looked for these questions.

1. Because Dick and Wally, as well as Zee and Artemis were best friends, in addition to Dick and Artemis being good friends, is it safe to assume the four of them went on double dates when the former couple was still an item?

2. How do you think Zatara would view their relationship?

3. Now knowing that Dick both lied to her about her best friend's death and used her to further the faking of Artemis' aforementioned death (I'd like you to know, I'm NOT saying his actions weren't justified, they were), does Zatanna now look at Dick in a new light?

4. Is it safe to assume the breakup was one without conflict? I ask because they're on oddly good terms with each other(better than my friends, at least).

5. Finally, I've always wondered: did you ever notice the coincidence that both Zee and Dick are or have been performers at some point?

Thank you, have a nice day.

Greg responds...

1. I think so.

2. Do you mean IF he was free of the Helmet?

3. I'm not sure about a "new light". She knew him pretty well already. I'm not saying she's happy about all of this. But she understands.

4. Depends on how you define "conflict," I guess.

5. Yes. Not sure it is a coincidence.

Did Garfield live at mount justice for most of the years of the five year gape between young justice and young justice invasion ?

He lived with his mom in Qurac until she was murdered. Then he lived with Rita and the Doom Patrol until they died. Then he lived with M'gann at Mount Justice until that blew up. Then, after he was rescued from the Reach, he lived briefly in Bludhaven in Nightwing's temporary base for the Team. Then he lived with his step-foster-father Steve Dayton somewhere in Los Angeles. Then after they had made some real money on Space Trek 3016, they moved to Brentwood. Then he legally became an emancipated minor and moved to the Premiere Building in Hollywood.

Hey Greg I got some questions regarding young justice and Atlantean magic.

On land we know only people born with the talent like Zatanna or Zatara can use magic (not counting artifacts like fate's helmet). Hence the reason Batman is not a wizard.

So my questions are:

1.- Given we have seen plenty more of human civilian magic users on Atlantis compared to land , does this means that all atlantans have the potential to use magic? or They just have a higher amount of talented magicians?

2.- Given Aquaman lacks magic powers and Ocean Master tried to steal Mera's magic, is their lack of magic powers due to lack of study on magic or they just weren't born with magical talent?

3.-Is Mera's magic derived purely on study? With that I mean, not counting her hard work. was she born with her raw power?

4.- Why didn't Ocean Master or Aquaman considered studying magic to gain magic powers like Mera?

Thank you Greg!

Greg responds...

I'm not necessarily agreeing with your starting premise.

1. I know there's no way (back in 2017) that you could have known this, but the answer to this question is actually a direct SPOILER for YJ season four: YOUNG JUSTICE: PHANTOMS. So... Sorry.

2. Reducing this all simply to "born with" and "not born with" is an oversimplification.

3. She was born with considerable raw power, but she also studied a TON.

4. What makes you think Ocean-Master hasn't studied? As for Orin, he had other stuff keeping him busy.

5) Would you define Doctor Fate as the nom-de-guerre for Nabu, or for his hosts? Your response to this may affect the list below.

Flash I - Jay Garrick
Flash II - Barry Allen
Green Lantern I - Alan Scott
Green Lantern II - Hal Jordan
Green Lantern III - Guy Gardner
Green Lantern IV - John Stewart
Black Canary I - Dinah Drake (Lance)
Black Canary II - Dinah Lance
Atom I - ?
Atom II - Ray Palmer
Blue Beetle I - Dan Garrett
Blue Beetle II - Ted Kord
Blue Beetle III - Jaime Reyes

Robin I - Dick Grayson
Robin II - Jason Todd
Robin III - Tim Drake

Guardian II - Jim Harper
Guardian III - Mal Duncan

Firebrand I - ?
Firebrand II - Danette Reilly / Red Inferno

Icicle I - ?
Icicle II - Cameron Mahkent

Thank you for your help!
By the time you read this, Outsiders will probably already be out, but best of luck!

I'm only going to cover characters that have appeared in the series. For any facts that I know, which have not yet been revealed, I am - for purposes of answering this question - going to ignore/pretend they don't exist.

1. All seems right.

2. Normally, I wouldn't be too inclined to do this, but these seem pretty obvious, so...

Firebrand I - Rod Reilly
Icicle Sr. - Joar Mahkent

3. I'm only going to cover characters that have appeared in the series. For any facts that I know, which have not yet been revealed, I am - for purposes of answering this question - going to ignore/pretend they don't exist, so that you don't know whether or not something is missing.

Good day Mr. Weisman
I'm a big fan of Dick Grayson, and as such I've read most of the Titans and Nightwing trades, but my interest in the character was sparked by watching Young Justice, so thanks for that. I was wondering: how would you describe him as a character? There have been varying depictions in the comics so I was wondering how you think of him. In YJ Season 2 he was very serious which reminded me of Nightwing from the Wolfman/Perez era. Anyway, I just wanted to know your thoughts. Sorry for the length of this, thanks for your time, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Greg responds...

I could probably write a dissertation on Dick, but I'm not going to do that here. For the most part, I like to let the episodes and issues speak for themselves. I don't want to sound like I'm trying to justify anything.

But basically, I think Dick was a fun-loving kid who experienced a horrible tragedy, but had two adult male role (Bruce and Alfred) models who stepped up and gave him a way to work through his anger and grief and reclaim the fun-loving kid that he was

Dick is, to my mind, extremely competent, which was born out in both the Teen Titans series of the 60s & 70s and the New Teen Titans series of the 80s. And so with that competence, and with the hard-earned knowledge of the responsibilities of leadership learned as early as "Drop-Zone" and "Failsafe", comes the serious-minded Nightwing that we often see in Season Two.

But I don't think that's his natural disposition. Instead, I look to the Robin of the 40s and 50s. Dick is the acrobat. The trapeze artist. The performer. Dick is the kid who learned to disappear like Batman but finds it so funny, he can't stop himself from laughing. That's the real Dick Grayson. A kid/teen/young adult that is so winning and naturally guileless and honest that even his ex-girlfriends still love him. (That is his super-power, after all.) He knows how to do the other thing - and he's actually scary good at it. But he kinda hates that too.

A non Beast Boy question~

Been exploring Earth 16 Atlantis a bit, a few things that seem evident or a bit off.

1. The scene arrangement in Issue 14 seems to allude to the city state origins of several Atlanteans, are these correct allocations:

-Lori Lemaris: Tritonis
-Lagoon Boy: Neptunos
-M'Chiste: Crastinus

2. Wyynde has similar tattoo markings on his collar/chest to Lagoon Boy in Season Two, is his sorcery specialisation in the same area (puffer/strength)?

Atlantean differences are stated to be due to diverging evolutionary paths. We see multiple "Merfolk" type Atlanteans in addition to others more varied subspecies. Assuming there would be many of each of these subspecies, characters such as the Lagoon Boy would likely not have an unusual appearance when in the area where this subspecies developed/migrated to.

3. However, Lagoon Boy in particular seems to consider himself unusual. Does this line of reasoning not hold for his appearance, or was his strangeness just highlighted for character building purposes as an issue faced by real teenagers frequently and not entirely due to his Atlantean physiology?

Greg responds...

1. Lori's definitely from Tritonis. I don't think we established where La'gaan is from, though it's not Posiedonis. M'chiste is from Posiedonis, but Garth is from Crastinus.

2. No. There are subtle differences in their skin-icons.

3. He's not unusual at home among his family. But on the surface world - and during the time of the Purists in Posiedonis - he definitely did not seem to fit in visually.

That's it. Period. Nothing else is canon to our series until Season Three (i.e. YOUNG JUSTICE: OUTSIDERS) hits the air (or until we get more comics).

Hey Greg,

This is a long shot but- Earlier in December 2016, you asked fans to buy more Young Justice comic books so the publishers will green light a new Comic book series on Young Justice.
Can we expect new Young Justice comics this year? or is DC at least considering a new series?
If the moderators decide to show you this, thanks for reading and much thanks for Young Justice.

Greg responds...

DC is, I think, considering it. But I've got no news yet. So keep buying those comics!!!

I noticed someone else asked a question about doing YJ stories that require a more mature rating. In this case, the poster wanted more brutal fight scenes. I don't have much sympathy with his desire for more violence, but it did make me wonder about something else: are there specific instances in which you would have liked to have told on YJ but couldn't because of the limitations of the target audience?

For example, I thought it was rather clever what you did in "Disordered." Personally, as a 49 year old, I wouldn't have minded an entire episode of them talking to Black Canary in therapy, but the reality is that your target audience wouldn't have much patience for that, and you probably couldn't have sold the idea to Cartoon Network either. You came up with an intelligent compromise of having the team's therapy sessions inter-cut with Superboy's adventures with the Forever People.

1) Are there other instances in which you had to come up with creative solutions to making an otherwise unpalatable story palatable to your intended audience? Can you think of some examples and what the work-arounds might have been?

2) And, are there still other stories that you wanted to tell but couldn't at all because of the network or because they wouldn't have interested your audience? For example, you probably couldn't produce an episode that was entirely a slice-of-life episode without an action element because that's your audience tunes in for. Have you ever wanted to do an episode like that on YJ?

3) Will the third season have the same content restrictions placed upon it as previous seasons? Or, will you have more liberty with your creative choices?

Greg responds...

I wouldn't say the "limitations of the target audience" but I would say the limitations of those who are nervous in seats of power.

But your example doesn't hold water for me. "Disordered" was told the way Brandon and I wanted to tell it. There was no compromise for our audience.

1. Your question is based on a faulty premise. I'm not really sure how to address it.

I suppose we hinted at Red Arrow's heroin addiction, as opposed to depicting it. Added in a metaphorical layer about his addiction to searching for the Original Roy, without negating the possibility that over that time he had also slipped into substance abuse.

On another completely different topic, we were aware that we could not depict LGBTQ relationships either. But that doesn't mean we don't have LGBTQ characters. You strive to write with consistency even toward those elements that you're not allowed to discuss.

2. 100% slice of life? No. I like the mix and the counterpoint.

3. I'm not commenting on the third season at all.

Hey Greg,
I know you said that there were no paperback copies left for the Young Justice series. Is there a possibility that some more might be made in the future?

Greg responds...

Anything's possible.

First, I'm beyond excited about Season Three! Congrats!

Second, while reading the comics, something very much didn't sit right with me -- Red Torpedo/Jim Lockhart. Robots don't eat, sleep (theoretically), or need to use the bathroom. So, did Jim just not do any of that? Also, whenever he changed clothes, wouldn't he have noticed something missing down there? (Unless, T.O. Morrow added that in, I guess...) It just confused me greatly and I'd really appreciate you clearing the subject up. :)

Greg responds...

He's anatomically correct. He can eat and that product goes through him. It doesn't provide anything, but it allows him to mimic being human. He's also programmed to ignore any discrepancies.

Hello Greg!
I recently watched the first two season of YJ and purchased the first 2 collections of the YJ comics. I really loved them, good luck on season 3, and if the sales are good enough on the continuation of YJ comic series.
But I have some questions too:
1.) One of my friends told me that he once read an issue called "Face your Fears". But I'm unable to find it anywhere, and it's not part of the collections. Is it still available somewhere? Is that a canon issue too?
2.) We know that both Jay and KF were slower than Barry.. but who is the faster one between Jay and KF? (Jay'speed in his prime, and Wally's speed as of Season 2)

Thank you for your time

Greg responds...

1. That was a giveaway. I think it was written to be canon, but I don't have a copy of it either, which makes it tough for me to include it as canon sometimes... mostly because I keep forgetting that it existed.

2. They were close to even, but I'd tend to give Wally the edge because of modern training methods.

Hi Greg, hope your day is going well, just wanted to say thanks for creating and producing all of these great shows, comics, and novels, and thank you very much for taking time out of your probably busy schedule to answer fan's questions.
1. How long does it take to make an episode of an animated series, like Spectacular Spider-Man or Young Justice?
2. Is Aquaman's son really named Artur, or was that just a typo in the video game?
3. What would it take to relaunch the Young Justice comic book series?
And I know these are probably spoilery, so I won't ask, but Zatanna and Rocket were some of my favorite characters in season one. Really hoping you guys get enough episodes to bring a resolution to the Zatanna/Zatara/Dr.Fate storyline, and we can finally find out who Rocket'a husband is! But if neither of these end up happening, I'm sure we'll get a fantastic Season 3 story from you guys no matter what. Ecstatic that YJ is back!

Greg responds...

1. Depends what you mean. You see, no one makes a SINGLE episode. From coming up with the springboard for the story, all the way through post-production, until it's in the can, it takes somewhere from between ten and thirteen months, depending on the schedule.

2. Artur is correct.

3. It would help if a lot of people bought electronic versions of the issues already published, either on the DC App, Comixology or iTunes.

"What makes you think Two-Face exists?"

There's a page on the YJ Wiki. http://youngjustice.wikia.com/wiki/Two-Face. He appeared in Young Justice: Face Your Fears and Christopher Jones confirmed Batman and Robin were in his lair.

Greg responds...

I see. So nothing definitive. ;)

Hi Greg, may I ask for the identities of the alien warriors Kylstar kidnapped to join his crew? I recognize Maxima, Draaga,& Vartox, but the others are a mystery to me, & knowing how well you & your team have incorporated even the most obscure of heroes and villains into Young Justice, I have a feeling none of the alien characters Kylstar recruited are merely nameless background characters.

P,S, love Draaga's redesign, much more alien than before, the chin tusks are a nice touch.

Greg responds...

Well, I see Connie next to Maxima. But - except for the ones you named above and the various Earth heroes and villains - the others aren't ringing a bell for me. You might ask Christopher Jones.

If the tie-in comics return (whether or not they will is a question that somebody else already asked), will the previous four collected editions go back into print?

Greg responds...

I don't know. It's not something I can control. But I hope so. Still, they are all available now for downloading. And if you want MORE comics, that's the single best way to get them, i.e. download the existing volumes.

Hi Greg! With the exciting announcement of Young Justice season 3, is there any chance that the tie-in comic will return as well? Thank you for taking the time to read and (hopefully!) answer my question.

Greg responds...

I hope so. Christopher Jones and I are dying to do it again. But we've gotten no word from DC Comics about that yet, and we have asked. The best way to help with that is to help spread the word to #BuyYJComicsonComixology or on the DC App or on iTunes. We need to show DC that the comic itself sells.
