Before the breakup did Queen Perdita ever saw a picture of Garfield Logan before his hair and skin turned green?

Greg responds...

I'm sure she did at some point.

1. How close are Superboy and Black Canary? Do they share a somewhat familial bond and are they still close by season 4?
2. Has Garth moved on from losing Tula or is he still struggling to move on like Artemis did?
3. When exactly did Cyborg join the Justice League and how long was he with the Outsiders before joining the League?
4. When did Conner and Megan graduate and move in together? Year and day please.

Greg responds...

1. They're close. But, familial... no. I wouldn't think so. She's a friend and mentor.

2. I'm not sure what you mean by "moved on". I'm not sure I love that phrase. I'm sure he has good days and bad days.

3. Cyborg joined the Justice League in December of Team Year Nine. He joined the Outsiders in January of that same year.

4. They graduated high school in June, Team Year Two. I don't have a specific date. They graduated college in Team Year Six, but because of the Invasion, they may have graduated late. I don't have a specific date. Sometime after graduating, they moved in to the apartment above Lucas Carr's garage. Again, I don't have a specific date, but they were already living there together by July 29, Team Year Eight.

Hello Mr.Weisman
How did bane almost defeat batman in hand to hand combat? Shouldn't batman be more skilled and experienced (If not stronger) than bane? Was he holding back or he is just getting older and is not as good as he used to be?
And sorry about the grammatical mistakes, I am not a native English speaker.

Greg responds...

Why would you think that Batman would be more skilled and experienced than Bane? They have parallel backgrounds, and Bane's been literally fighting for his life since early childhood, i.e. years before Bruce started training in earnest.

Why did you have Tara say mother of goat instead of mother of God in young justice outsiders?

Greg responds...

It started with Brion, not Tara. And, candidly, it started with Brion's voice actor, Troy Baker, who said it once during a recording session, and we thought it was so funny, we used it and kept using it. Then we decided it was a common (translated) expression in Markovia - a less blasphemous euphemism for Mother of God. So, since Tara is Markovian, it made sense for her to say it, too.

How did you cast Jenifer Lewis? She's not commonly seen doing voice over work. Whose idea was it to cast here? How is she?

Greg responds...

Jamie Thomason suggested her, I believe. (Though, it's been awhile.) And she was great. I haven't seen her since, so I hope she's still doing well.

Was the reason you decided to have Shiva and not David Cain be the abusive parent who relentlessly trained Cassandra into being the perfect assassin due to her backstory in the comics being too similar to Artemis and Sportsmaster?

Greg responds...

Not consciously. Mostly, I think we just found Lady Shiva to be a more compelling character than David Cain.

Hi Greg, want to start by saying I love the world building of young justice and the amount of passion you and the team have towards the shows creation, huge respect! The fact that you even take the time to interact with and respond to fans who feel entitled to have all sorts of opinions is a huge thing in itself and the way you respond and handle situations is admirable! I have a couple questions that im not sure can be answered or would warrant a no spoiler haha. Ive looked through the archive to make sure it hasn't been answered before and I don't believe it has so here it goes:

1. Is the Blue Beetle "Big Bad" of Barts time actually Jaime? Once the Reach had Jaime in captivity they might've killed him off for a new host or maybe actually found a way to put him on mode, so the identity of the human host of the tyrant of Barts time is unclear.

2. Flash´s secret identity seems to be important to him, he even has a different eye colour when in his uniform (blue) as opposed to his actual green. With Jay being a public hero with his name known, surely people must recognise him out of costume? In associating him with Bart as his guardian, it wouldn't be impossible for people to make a connection between Allens and Jay, doesn't this put their secret IDs at risk?

Thank you in advance regardless of whether the questions are answered or not. I love the show a lot and have been enjoying the first half of season 4 so far (especially all of Klarions scenes, the were incredibly chaotic hahaha). Very excited for the rest of the season.

Greg responds...

1. IT IS UNCLEAR!! You're the first person that I know of who has noticed that fact. It was left intentionally ambiguous. Jaime assumes, because Bart assumed, that it was him. But I think that's doubtful. Of course, now, we'll never know.

2. Bart's in costume, and the world doesn't know that he's Barry's grandson - especially since Barry's kids are so young. The fact that people know that Jay and Barry are friends doesn't automatically mean that Barry is the Flash. Presumably, Jay has more than one friend.

How come we hardly see Dick interact with Tim? Dick is a lead and Tim is his brother, I would think they'd hang out and work together often, but i dont think we saw them have a single conversation in outsiders. Are they not as close in YJ as they are in the comics?

Greg responds...

They're close. But we only have so much screen time to devote to relationships that do not further the story we're telling. Their relationship is not in question. And Tim, much as I love him (and Cameron Bowen who plays him), is not one of our leads. But given enough time, episodes, comic book stories, etc, we'll get to everything, including Dick and Tim.

Why did the show have to become so dark when it was revived just because the fandom is older? 99.9% of DC media is dark, the optimism in YJ was refreshing. And making material darker doesn't automatically make it more mature.

Greg responds...

I agree that dark doesn't equate with mature. But you're implying that YJ ONLY got dark and didn't get more mature, and I don't agree with that at all. And that's on top of the fact, that I believe YJ remains thoroughly optimistic in its viewpoint. Oh, and probably not as dark as you think.

I don't assume I can convince you of this, but I guarantee that you're not going to convince me.

When Black Lightning became the new leader of the Justice League how come Superman wasn't made second-in-command of the JL? He obviously has a strong moral compass. Plus he was never apart of nor had anything to do with the Anti-Light.

Greg responds...

I don't recall ever making "second-in-command" an official position in YJ's JL.
