Was Quincy Hemings comment on being on the staff of Teddy Roosevelt meant to be tongue in cheek regarding his age? I was looking at Garg-wiki and it said he was born in 1900, so he wouldn't be part of the official staff as I do not believe they would let children work for the White House unless I am missing something?

Greg responds...

They did let children work in the White House.

Was Kenneth the Third aka the Grim the heir of Kenneth the Second despite being his nephew, not being the son of the current king, and younger then Maol Chavilm? The show comics and real life are kinda of confusing regarding Scottish succession.

Greg responds...

Kenneth III was the son of Kenneth II's older brother Duff, so he was the rightful heir.

Dear Greg,

You've said recently-ish that your take on time travel is a multiverse-level hypertime-like theory most similar from what I can tell to that of Dragonball Z, where going back in time creates another universe...I have been wondering about this since the end of Invasion, because of the end of Bloodlines. I wrote a history for the original timeline that led from the death of Barry to the events at the beginning of that episode, because I figured it was simply a new timeline in the same universe, Earth-16's. Is Impulse not from Earth-16? If not, why did the timeline change in forty years, after he left?

Greg responds...

Well, I've got no familiarity at all with Dragonball Z, so I can't comment on that.

And to be clear, the rules we used in YJ are not my preferred rules of time travel. For those, see GARGOYLES.

But the YJ rules were based off the best I could manage to codify off of the DC Universe's rules.

Earth-16 had a history that Impulse thwarted. You can view his original history as Earth-16a, I suppose. Or you could just mark it up as GONE.

I think that in #3 of this question (http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=22075), Lenny was actually asking if a company would consider a recommendation *for* a more seasoned producer, not *from*. i.e. If the newbie who's idea was picked up by the company wanted Dini, Cook or Vietti to produce it, would the company consider that request or just provide their own producer? (I have a feeling I know the answer, but wanted to clarify what Lenny was asking)

Greg responds...

Ah. Yeah, I didn't get that.

I guess you could ask for whomever you wanted, but whether they can cooperate with that suggestion will depend on a load of factors, including but not limited to availability, cost, interest, studio needs, etc.

Hey Greg, I'm just wondering if you've put any thought into your twitter/social media break and if you're close to coming back. Not trying to be pushy but I sincerely enjoy your tweets.

Greg responds...

Thanks. I probably will come back at some point. But I have to admit I'm not missing it. It was a huge time suck and - at times - stressful and angrifying. Other times it was great, admittedly. But I'm not sure it's me. Ask Greg suits me much better.

Hi Greg,

I wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed Young Justice, Spectacular Spider-Man and the first two books of the Rain of the Ghosts series. Your writing helped inspire me to try my hand at fiction writing and, after a couple of years, I now have my first novel published. So I wanted to thank you for being one of those people who inspired me to try my hand at it.

Looking forward to Young Justice 3 and best of luck with it!

Greg responds...

Thank you. And thanks for posting this. It's very gratifying!

Did Wally take Vietnamese lit because Artemis is half Vietnamese?

Greg responds...

In part. And in part because it interested him. But mostly because it was a class they could take together.

Hi! I'd like to ask you a question from a writing standpoint if you don't mind. When juggling a lot of plotlines, how important is it to develop relationships on-screen? On the one hand, obviously the main couples should be. But for the minor ones/background characters, I'm not sure if it's better to leave their relationship status static (which would be unrealistic for most) until I can properly develop something for them, or sometimes put them in side relationships based on chemistry even without much prior development. This would be provided that these relationships could be used to further individual storylines, just not important enough to warrant too much attention from the main plot. It's okay if you don't have an answer, but I'm curious if you do.

Greg responds...

Every character should have his or her own life, even if you don't always have the screen time for it.

1) I haven't seen Greg on Twitter for ages...what happened to him?
2) What is with "Masque of Bones"? Is there any hope left for the Rain of the Ghosts series? They were some of the best books I ever read and I would be so disappointed if the project just died...

Greg responds...

1. I took a break from social media.

2. I'll get to it eventually, but it may be a LONG eventually. I'm afraid that neither book in the series sold well enough for my publisher to want to publish the third book. I was hoping that the audioplay version of Rain would generate some interest, both in itself, and the series as a whole. But that hasn't happened. So I will get back to Rain - and self-publish, if necessary. But right now, I need to pay the bills, with projects like World of Warcraft: Traveler.

I looked and I couldn't find this question so I thought I ask: Why are you interested writing about secret societies like the Light or the Illuminati?

Greg responds...

I'm interested in writing about most everything.
