1.Is Morgana related to Oberon?
2.What does she think of Oberon?
3.Does she still hate Arthur or Merlin?
1. Not saying.
2. Not saying.
3. At what point in history?
Ok greg this has been puzzling me for a long time.
What does titania whisper to fox when her and oberon leave back to avalon after they give her baby back? She whispers something to her. First you think it is a kiss. But its a whisper. Now I know a whisper when I hear one. *L*
Can you answer this riddle/question?
Yes, I can.
Suppose I used the phoenix gate to travel back in time to plant an undetectable bug [while no person was watching and no person caught me] where I could record the conversation between Titania and Fox. If I was to play a recording of that conversation, what would I get?
The answer to your question.
What happened to Boudicca after Oberon went all jolly blue giant in 'The Gathering: Part One'? I mean, when he phased out of human form, he just left her there! Wouldn't someone notice a big, olive drab gargoyle lounging about the street?
I assume he sent her back to Avalon. Do you have any reason to assume he didn't?
Hi, Greg, hate to pester you more, but it's what I'm particularly good at. First I want to say thanks for taking the time to look twice at our questions, and to those who criticize you for giving "smart ass" answers I say this----"HIS SHOW HIS RIGHT! LEAVE HIM ALONE!! YOU'RE LUCKY HE EVEN TAKES THE TIME OUT OF HIS INCREDIBLY BUSY SCHEDULE TO EVEN LISTEN TO OUR WHINING, SO GET OVER IT!!" Okay, now for my question, hehe:
1. Do you know what Titania said to Fox or is it something you thought you could come up with later, kind of leave it open?
2. If you do know what it was, did you have any plans for revealing it in the future or were you keeping it bottled up indefinitely?
3. Last question: If you do know what she whispered to Fox, will you please tell us one single word from what she whispered--just one single word? (That is, assuming it wasn't a single word in the first place, then it would be a little pointless to ask you to say, huh;))
Thanks Greg. I know you get pestered a lot about this, but it's only cuz we CARE! hehe Love the show and thanks! Take it easy!
1. I know what I think she said.
2. Most likely, the latter.
3. Not today. Probably never.
what type of character has titania in midsummer nights dream shakespear
I'm not sure what you're asking. She was Queen of the Fairies. I'd recommend reading the play or, even better, attending a production.
How can Thailog and the Clones be cured of the clone virus when they're solid stone, and incapable of intraveneous injection? If science is a kind of magic, as Titania mentions in 'The Gathering' two-parter, no mage could meddle with it.
Well...
1. Don't take what Titania said too literally. She was making an analogy, not writing a treatise.
2. Keep in mind, you're talking Goliath Chronicles.
You said that Titania collected changelings like the Indian boy from Midsummers Nigh Dream so care to list a few more changelings collected by Titania?
Was I talking about the Gargoyles' Titania or Shakespeare's Titania? I can't remember.
i have a question about the flora on Avalon, actually, a couple questions:
1. the plants on Avalon, like all the forests and stuff, were all those plants brought to Avalon or were they made whe and however the island was created? in short, are those plants real world plants or magic/Avalon plants?
2. if i went to Avalon and planted a tree, could Oberon control that tree as he did with the plants in "Ill met by moonlight"?
3. was the apple orchard that is near Oberon's Palace planted by mortals? if so, when did this occur?
4. in 2002, how are the tropical plants brought from Guatemala doing on Avalon? thriving?
5. does Oberon know of the tropical plants and if so what does he think of them?
thanx, Greg!
1. Probably some of each, but more of the former.
2. He's very powerful. So, yes.
3. I have every reason to think that apples are native to Avalon.
4. Probably. No reason to think otherwise.
5. He does, yes. He must be okay with the idea or he wouldn't have allowed them in.
1.What goddesses/gods(you said they could change their gender) were Mab worshipped as?
2.What gods/godesses were Oberon worshipped as? Puck? Titania?
I haven't done the research on this yet. I have a few notions in mind, and there's probably more out there that would work, but I haven't done the research yet.
If Oberon were to be killed, or even removed from rulership of Avalon, would the third race be freed from his Law, or not? (I know this seems like a "duh" question, but I thought I'd ask and be sure)
It depends on who takes over.
Questions regarding three of the Fair Folk
1. After the Wierd Sisters were banished by a simple parlor trick, they rather easily accepted the ARchmage's suggestion for help. Why that as opposed to just using Avalon's magic to destroy the clan?
Why put that much trust in a single human?
Did they even hedge their bets with attempts of their own to remove the clan?
2. When Odin went through his entire deal of getting his eye back, why didn't he, at one point, attempt identifying himself as Odin before threatening a Gargoyle's protectorate? It seems he'd tried everything but the truth before threatening Elisa... and then the truth at the same time, so what really could it have cost him to identify himself before going to threats?
3. While Oberon may have seen himself as being well in the right for wanting to rid Avalon of the mortals, why didn't he think to identify himself as Oberon: Rightful Lord of Avalon? Seems to be pretty much an obvious thing that he may have missed.
Basing this next question on the idea that Avalon wants the humans and Gargoyle clan to remain (or else why bring the world tour group back to Avalon just in time?). Why did Avalon obey Oberon's commands to attack Goliath, Angela, and Gabrial?
1a. Well, I could say, "Why not?" But the not-quite-as-short answer had to do with their own banishment from the island by Oberon. By becoming "servants" to the Archmage, it enabled them to embark on the island at his command. Otherwise, how do they attack the Magus, et al, when they're forbidden to set foot on the island. There's also a longer answer and a very long answer, but I'm not getting into those now.
1b. They didn't.
1c. They have three plans in play and removing the clan is only a part of each.
2. Chalk it up, as he did, to recent inexperience at dealing with mortals.
3. I believe he did.
3a. That's a big assumption. The Island didn't bring the travellers back. To return to Avalon, the travellers use a spell. In any case, what the island wants and needs, doesn't change the fact that the island is soaked in magical energy, which Oberon is a master at utilizing.
Hi, I always had this question about The Gathering part II. During the fight with Oberon if Xanatos knows that he's vulnerable to iron WHY THE HELL DOESN'T HE REGULAR MACHINE GUNS AND REGULAR IRON BULLETS ? What is this fascination with energy weapons if a good old M-16 would shred Oberon to pieces. (I mean a shot from a harpoon gun weakened him greatly) .(Of course I understand that making the God-Like Oberon appear so vulnerable,or showing him neary defeated would ruin the episode )
Well, frankly, the real reason is that we're generally not allowed to use real world weapons except at great discretion. Shooting even a magical being up -- one who'd be vulnerable to bullets -- would definitely not get past S&P. No way.
I think we justify this in the show by presenting our cast with even more impressive weapons. And by demonstrating their limits. An iron harpoon through the chest weakened but didn't kill him. The bullets would have hurt certainly, but might have ultimately done even less damage. Who knows?
Again, I forget who asked this: "4. Where was Vinnie when the Mirror took place? ~_^ "
Greg responds: "4. Haven't thought about it."
It would have been kinda funny to see Vinnie walk by in the background, maybe trip on his tail or something, and say "Can you believe it?" just so we'd be sure it was him.
In fact, and I realize there was neither time to design them, nor a place for such a thing in the story, but it would have been a great deal of fun to see what the human cast, Matt, Chavez, Morgan, Fox, Xanatos, Dracon, etc., would have looked like as gargs. (Especially those last three) Heck, it'd be fun to see what Owen would look like as a gargoyle, even though that obviously wasn't possible.
MacBeth... Was MacBeth in town for The Mirror, and if so, was he changed into a gargoyle? Puck said "All humans on this concrete isle...", and MacBeth is still a human, albeit a magically immortal one. Again, fun to imagine.
And, I know you don't like hypotheticals, but would a fey in human form, such as Anastasia Renard have been affected by the spell or not, since you said that in mortal form, Oberon's Children take on all aspects of that form.
http://www.adventurers-comic.com
In my opinion, yes, Anastasia -- had she been in town, which is unlikely -- would have transformed. Of course, at will she could abandon her mortal (now gargoyle) form for and look however she wanted.
The grant of immunity to Oberon's magic is a great gift to Goliath and his clan (even if it *is* subject to Oberon's interpretation).
1) You've explained that Elisa still fell prey to Oberon's sleep spell because he didn't consider her part of the clan. a) Why is this? Did Oberon not recognize how close Goliath and Elisa were back on Avalon? Did he automatically dismiss the idea that a human could be adopted into a gargoyle "clan"? b) Just a comment here, but I think it would have been a nice touch if Elisa *had* been granted immunity from the sleep spell, kind of as a way to symbolize her relationship to the clan. c) At some future point, do you see Oberon extending this immunity to Elisa as well?
2a) Do you have any specific ideas for future moments when the clan will once again get to take advantage of their immunity from Oberon's magic? b) When you introduced Oberon's gift to Goliath in "Ill Met by Moonlight", were you already thinking ahead to "The Gathering", realizing that that the clan would need this immunity? Or was it simply something you figured you might make use of eventually in a future story?
1a. Largely, I don't think he's that observant. Gargoyle clans. He's thinking gargoyles. No doubt, Elisa was regarded as an ally, but I don't think it occured to him to actually consider her to be part of the clan.
b. Well, it's nice and symbolic, but I just think the spell has to come from Oberon's PoV, and it seems out of character to me for him to include her. This isn't something I missed. This is something I considered and made a conscious decision about.
c. I doubt it.
2a. Not specifically at this moment.
b. Yes and yes.
Is Mab the most powerful being of the third race? If so who is number two? Oberon?
Generally speaking, yes. Mab #1. Oberon #2.
But power is a relative concept. And depends on how or what it's used for. There may in fact be many with more power, but only to do certain things. Or who only would do certain things.
See?
Hi Greg!
Just wanted to say Happy Birthday! Mine was yesterday, so it's easy for me to remember when yours is. Don't know how it is for you, but birthdays have taken on a little stronger meaning for me since the tragedy. I'm old enough that I start to think of birthdays a bit cynically (one year older, etc... I'm 29, BTW), but there are a lot of people won't have any more birthdays ever, so I'm very grateful to be home celebrating with my family and other people I care about. Hope you're doing the same. All the best to you and your family in the year to come!
P.S. Now, can you tell us what Titania whispered to Fox? Just kidding. ;)
My birthday was over eight months ago, and I can honestly say I don't really remember it. I think I was still in a haze.
But thanks for the good-wishes.
And P.S. No.
This may have been asked, but I haven't seen it...
1.Is Tatania one of Oberon's children?
1a.If not what is she considered?
2.Is her power equal to Oberon's power or does she have the lesser strengh of a Child?
1. In the sense that Titania is one of the race of Oberon, yes. She's not literally one of his offspring.
2. In terms of sheer power, I'd guess no, she's not his equal. But she's more than his equal in other ways.
What was Anastasia maiden name?
Haven't decided.
You mentioned that you could only recommend Isaac Asimov's book on Shakespeare (I assume that you mean his Guide to Shakespeare, which I have a copy of) with reservations. I was wondering if you could tell us a little more about those reservations of yours about it.
Boy, I must have been really touchy on September 10th.
Let me just say, it's weird to be looking at these questions, asked early in the morning of 9/11, clearly before the events of the day. (Or at least before people became aware of those events.) Puts everything into perspective, you know.
Anyway, Merlin and Oberon have a thorny relationship to say the least. I can't really answer your question in any more detail at this time. I half regret revealing that Oberon was M's dad.
You've mentioned earlier that Merlin isn't considered one of "Oberon's Children" (by which I mean the Third Race, rather than Oberon's biological offspring). I recently began wondering over the reason for that, i.e., what reasons Oberon has for not classifying him as such.
The only other "halflings" we know of in the Gargoyles Universe at present are Fox and Alex, and we know what criteria Oberon had for deciding whether they could be considered "Children of Oberon" or not. He viewed Fox as human rather than Third Race because she had shown no sign of manifesting any magic (at least, at the time of "The Gathering Part One") and Alex as Third Race because he still had the potential of developing magic.
Now, moving back to Merlin; he clearly did learn how to use magic, so obviously Oberon used a different criterion for classifying him as human rather than "Oberon's Children" than he did with Fox. So my question is, what is this different criterion?
(And don't worry; this isn't one of those "trying to trip you up questions" that you mentioned being unhappy with recently. I'm just genuinely curious about this).

Hi, Greg, me again. I want to ask specifically WHY you won't tell us what Titania whispered to Fox...that's all. I'm not asking what she said (I know you won't say) but WHY won't you say? Thanks a lot and keep up your fantastic work!
Multiple Choice:
a. I think some things are more fun if they are left mysterious.
b. Some of you might like the one true answer, but invariably some of you would be left disappointed. And my fragile ego couldn't handle that.
c. I have to keep some secrets.
d. Nobody's asked the question in such a clever way that made me want to give it up.
e. I keep thinking of halfway decent smart-ass responses.
f. All of the Above.
g. None of the Above.
Hi, Greg, I just wanna say I love the show and I was wondering something---Titania had Fox by the human, Renard, but did Oberon have any flings with human women? Did he have any children by them? Thanks!
Merlin.
Why did Mab disapprove of Titania?
Lots of reasons.
Did you plan to introduce any other Shakespeare plays into the Gargoyles Universe besides MacBeth, Ill Met by Moonlight and the Tempest? What did Oberon, Titania and Puck think of Ill Met by Moonlight? What did Prospero think of the Tempest?
I assume you mean "A Midsummer Night's Dream"...
Anyway, yes.
I like to think that all were happy enough with Shakespeare's work. But except for Macbeth's reaction, I haven't fully worked out the responses in my mind.
