Zeroman-as Canadian Animated series go, this isn't really too bad. Animation is actually quite good. Some of the stories are a little too toilet humor for my tastes, but it's stil aimed largely at adults-particularly Canadian adults. There are alot of Canadian references that the average person outside Canada wouldn't get. It's actually quite funny seeing Don Cherry & Ron McLean play themselves as villians(although the pair did appear as themselves in a nother amberwood production-hose hounds). BTW, the information linked has Les Mutton as 66(he's 63-going on 64)-and is an postal worker by day. Zeroman's secret sidekicks is a buffed guy named Ty Cheese (one of the few sane characters in the series. He'd likely be able to do anything in life-except he he made a promise to help the rather dim witted Superhero - Ty also happenes to be gay). Other characters are Sally Uberchick-Les's love interest(athough he'd never admit it-nor would she). Villian Rusty Woodenwater-a wealthy former child star who's career is washed up-so he's turned to a life of crime(of which Don & Ron are his henchmen). Then there's Jaundice Mutton-Les/Zeroman's mother - who doesnt know he's Zeroman-dispite being Zeroman's biggest fan. Her son Les-however(who still lives with her) she'd do almost anything to get him to move out.

It's not a brilliant series, nor is it a throwaway. Some episodes are quite good, others, as that website says-fall flat. It's worth a look if you can get it.
Athough id' still prever Gargs back on Canadian TV thank you(are you listening Family Channel?!!).

Okay, I took a stab at it...I tried to sculpt tonight. I found this neat clay at Michaels that looks like stone. So I sculpted the Praying Gargoyle that Demona uses in City of Stone. It's horrible. It was fun to do sometimes, but then I looked at the printout of the actual sculpture from the show and cringed again. But hell. I made it. I am including it in my auction for the Demona My Little Pony as a bonus. No other reason then I wanted to experiment with that clay. It is neat and saves a heck of a lot of time on painting it to look like stone. I'll post it tomorrow here.

To be honest, both Brooklyn and Lexington had no issues with socalizing with humans. As far as whether or not something happened to Brooklyn, that could have simply been something as simple as another human protecting him during the day (we already know its someone common for gargoyles to be caught away from home) or something else entirely. I suppose we won't know until someone asks at the gathering. :) (and thats IF he even chooses to reveal that something did indeed happen to him)

Zeroman>> In case anyone else wanted to know about "Zeroman," here is a web site I just found via Google:
http://www.spacejunk.org/update.php?ID=23

Transformed Human Theory >> I did suggest that it would be rather odd if Greg Weisman was thinking in this direction ;-). I'm not even sure if it could work. To me, though, it adds something to the story: a certain poignancy, a certain irony (esp. when dealing with the Mutates).

But can it even work? One problem is that Brooklyn would have to have been *very* young during the transformation. He has to believe subconsciously that he is 100% gargoyle, even if he consciously knows about the transformation. The problem is that I'm not sure I can make the ages of Brooklyn and the Magus work out right. Another problem is that Brooklyn might end up being a potential magic user. I am almost positive Greg does *not* want this. (I think I can work around it, though.) Yet another problem: this still doesn't explain the Magus' bizarre hair coloration. I've heard of platinum blonds, but this? Does he use some sort of ancient bleach or peroxide!??

On another note: I'm surprised no one has brought up Puck's hair to shoot down my arguments. You see, Puck's hair never impressed me the way the Magus' hair did: Puck's a fey. They can look as weird as you can imagine.

Okay, I know this is completely off-topic, but it's been soo long, and I need to get this off my chest. I would do this to the people around me, but they're starting to tune me out and no longer even try to console me.

So here's my rant: BRING HOCKEY BACK!!! I've gone too long without the game, and it's REALLY starting to get to me now. I've even gone as far as to start watching Zeroman to get my fix of Don Cherry and Ron Mclean.
Saturday nights were almost a sacred thing here in Canada. A night where every wife (or whoever else didn't understand hockey) knew not to bother the avid hockey fan. A night where you could safely put a good six hours of non-stop hockey under your belt.
And now, only a few months from when the playoffs would start, there's STILL NO HOCKEY! What is the world coming to when a nation can no longer enjoy their (second) national sport?
I say we get Bob Goodnow and Gary Bettman out of there (asap), and lock everyone else into a room, and not let them out until they come up with an agreement. There is no way we can allow this lockout to continue into next year!!!

BRING HOCKEY BACK!!!

End of rant.

I don't think that Brooklyn is a transformed human at all. More likely, Gregarius, I think that you're merely reading too much into certain scenes (much like the case of people who tried reading too much into the Captain's "They're not my kind" lines in "Awakening Part One").

Patricia>> Sorry about the double post. Didn't see your post.

Even in my scenario, are you sure that the Magus knows who Brooklyn is? If the Magus does know, does he even care now that Brooklyn's a gargoyle both mentally and physically? (Think about how Maggie's family treats her in TGS)

Heck, does Brooklyn know what he used to be?

Matt>> OK, I will.

Think about Derek and Maggie, only much younger.

In other words: Could Brooklyn be a human who was turned into a gargoyle at a young age? Specifically, could Brooklyn have been related to the Magus?

I have more thoughts concerning this scenario, but they will wait, I think.

JJ> I got what you're going after.

I'd much rather be able to see season 2 than to try to respond to this, as I know I'd need to brush up on the characters and such.

I think it's farfetched... seems almost unlikely. And I do realize what universe we're talking about.

The Magus was the one that cast the sleeping spell.

Battle Beast>> It's a shame that the U.S. lost the Bronze Medal in overtime to the Czechs. :-( Not sure what happened to goalie Al Montoya; he was so good last year! And what's up with the U.S. defense? :sigh:

And Now for Something Completely Different>>
I had a weird thought. I previously noted that Brooklyn sometimes seems to forget how different he, as a gargoyle, seems to humans. Now, I also recall that extreme temperatures bother Brooklyn more than the other gargs (although he certainly can endure!) and that our beaked friend even feels a sense of wanderlust (remember his quip about going on a World Tour) even though his species is intensely territorial.

Now, that just makes him an odd gargoyle. Heck, Griff seems to have a stronger desire to go on a worldwide adventure than Brooklyn! However, when I saw "Long Way to Morning," I noticed something ... strange. Not only does the young Magus sound like Brooklyn (Phooey! Jeff Bennett gave his voice to many, *many* denizens of the Gargoyle universe), he even has Brooklyn's white hair -- even when the Magus seems to be barely an adult. Now, recall that when I asked Greg Weisman why Brooklyn seems at ease with humans early in the series , he agreed with me that something did happen. *

Greg couldn't have meant...

Greg wouldn't...

Would he?

Well, he was a soap opera fan. And wouldn't it be a cool twist if... But, would it work?

Anybody have a clue what I'm driving at? >:-)

*Word of Warning: Greg Weisman actually said that Brooklyn's early attitude towards humans had more to due with a more open personality. He did suggest, however, that something did happen.

This being my first time booking the flights and hotels, I'm a little surprised at some of these prices. There's this one deal with JetsGo, where you go for $20, and come back at regular price. Now this is all good and all, but $68 for taxes? On a $20 ticket? You gotta be kidding me! Then add in the other ticket, and the tax on that... brings it to a nice $319. I know that's pretty cheap, but to a university student like me, that's quite a bit of money. And the fact I don't have a job... well, it's hard to raise that kind of money.

That's all for now!

Siren> Funny you should mention Stan Winston. I don't know if you were aware of this, but he's had a couple of his concepts made into toy lines. One was "Realm of the Claw" with humanoid big cats. One that I think may have been shelved was a line of various werewolves. And the there's "Stan Winston's Gargoyles". Most of them bear little or no resemblence to our guys, but it's interesting to know he's thought about doing gargoyles in some capacity.

Sentinel> I enjoyed Greg's ramble, though i haven't seen the episode in years. It also reminded me of something my sister told me recently. In order to move those giant stone heads from one side of the island to the other, the islanders cut down a large number of trees to roll them on. Unfortunately, they somewhat overdid itand caused extreme damage to the island's ecosystem. On top of which, the wood shortage meant that the islanders couldn't build boats to go fishing. I find it interesting how this story contradicts the misconception we sometimes have of all native peoples living in perfect harmony with the land. There's no doubt that some did and still do. But others...not as much.

Siren: That's from the Gargoyles coloring book. I've also seen it in the sticker album and several posters. I'm guessing someone scanned it and colored it. Notice that the outside of Demona's wings is blue, not a dark purple. So you might want to look into whoever colored that drawing and ask if it's okay to use it. :P

If thats a piece of fan artwork, its a DAAAAMN good one. That may be a cropping from "Awakening" when she's watching Tom talking to Brooklyn and Lexington for the first time. (just before she crouched down) I'd rule it a fan-art until its confirmed that its an official one or not just to be on the safe side.

Folks, its worthless responding to the spammer. Its just a spambot, not a real person doing this. I doubt thats even the real IP address of the bot doing this anyways since any scriptkiddie spending 5 minutes on google can dig up plenty of proxy servers to mask their IP address.

That being said, the Wal-Mart out in the Wolfchase area (a more "upper-class" part of Memphis) is SOLD OUT of Gargoyles *again*! If this keeps up, we'll definitely get that season 2 release. :) Keep spreading the word people, because its definitely helping.

StarCreator > Negative copies means either people have it on order so that when new shipment comes in a copy is held for them, or it means that someone screwed up the inventory and they initially had more copies than was entered into the computer. For example, they had 54 copies but the computer was told they had 50. When each one sells and is scanned, the computer deducts it from invetory, so when all 54 are gone, the computer says -4.

Had a sales associate check the computer, which stated that the store had -2 copies. Apparently, the next closest store had -4 copies.

Patrick - Last time I saw those dvds, they were moved to be *slightly* more visible to the bottom area instead of being stored in a shelf on the bottom row. BUt I knew there was at least 5 of them and I can't believe they sold all at once just because of being relocated. I can't help shaking the feeling that those dvds were hidden somewhere, but I didn't run across any knowledge sales staff. The only guy I talked to didn't even know Walmart sold it.

I'm with Patrick. Wal-Mart hasn't taken Gargoyles off the shelves down here. Hell, last I saw they were still next to the new releases section. Best Buy even finally got Gargoyles in a couple of weeks ago. (took 'em long enough!) They had Gargs right next to Farscape (which for the longest time sold like hotcakes around here....which isn't suprising since Memphis is Ben Browder's (John Crichton) hometown.)

Dan>Gargoyles will likely be a mix between CGI and animatronics. It's perfectly plausible for a human to be in the gargoyle suit, There would be leg extensions to give them more hieght and to fit into the legs properly. Likely arm extensions too. The wings and tail would be totally animatronic. And then flight and some fight scenes would be CGI. Ever see Underworld? Watch the extras, the werewolves in that movie had similar body and leg structure. They could run and fight on two legs, as well as four. And often, it was people dressed in suits. They had tv screens inside the head to see where to go and what to do. But no depth perception due to it. But it still worked for that movie well. Aliens as well was another great monster. If WETA doesn't do it, I figure Stan Winston would be the next big one to go to. He did Terminator, Jurassic Park, Alien, and many many others. I do have confidence Gargoyles will make it to the big screen in full live action, I just wish it would be in the next 5-10 years.

Siren, if they do indeed make the movie, which they will. Weta might just do cg (ala final fantasy). I think that would be better, with the evolution in cd (animatrix). So getting the wings, body, and skin makeup would be better. But elisa and the rest will probally most likely be human. Anyway does anyone know more about that goliath christmass light? I have never left Edmonton since 1998... Actually, with my debt load I can't belive I managed to save up enough to go on two trips... Maybe I can go to the con next year...

Oh, and to our Canadian friends, a belated congradulations for winning the 2005 IIHF (Int'l Ice Hockey Federation) World Junior Championships.

I have an interesting question I'd like ask Ask Greg, and I don't think it's been asked before, but I want to run it by everybody here case I missed something:

When Greg proposed his spinoffs to Disney, I'm wondering how much he had to talk to the execs about the background of "Gargoyles" vs. how much he actually spent on the spinoffs itself. Do the bigwigs know what Gargoyles is? or does Greg have to work in that most of the main characters aren't human?

Can anyone help me on this?

I wonder if Greg's received his copy of the Gargoyles DVD yet. He mentioned (before the Christmas holidays break) having ordered one (alongside the Return of the King Extended Edition), but that it hadn't come yet. I wonder if it's arrived by now, and if so, what he thinks of it.

"Gargoyles" has 25% now with 137 votes, beating "Batman" at 101. DPH - I honestly don't know. A lot of that depends on whether Greg's planning on doing any more episode rambles in the near future (in which case he'll need to leave the queue open).

The accumulation of such questions is partly my fault, since I haven't been going through the queue to weed out those questions that break any of the rules. The reason for this is that Gorebash has been planning to revamp the system to allow people like myself to answer the questions that have already been answered lots of times while passing the genuinely new ones on to Greg, but just hasn't had enough free time yet to complete that, and asked me not to clear any more questions until he's finished doing that.

One of the worst parts of the "Ask Greg" queue (alongside people asking questions that have already been answered - many times over - or which they could have answered themselves if they'd thought it over for a bit) is that every now and then, somebody submits a good question which, unfortunately, happens to violate one of the rules. For an example, recently, somebody submitted a very good review of both the Gargoyles DVD and of "The Green" (in response to Greg's ramble on the latter). The trouble was, he submitted both in the same post rather than in separate posts, and since one of the rules is "No multiple topics in posts", it means that I'm going to have to delete that one when I get to it. I hope that I can reach him before I have to delete that question and ask him to resubmit those reviews in separate posts.

And the most recent post once again ignored the "no ideas disguised as questions" rule by asking Greg if he'd do something related to the assassination of Julius Caesar in "Gargoyles". I'm beginning to fear that some people just are not bothering to read the rules.

I uses media player classic (open source program based off of the original windows media player used way back in the windows 95 days) which plays just about any video and audio format out there. So yeah, that's definitely Goliath. I'm guessing he was left over from a show from ten years back or so and somebody aware of the DVD release thought to add him to the festivities. Victoria>Go with a Native American made flute. They are made of natural wood and totally hand-made. Depending on the tribe that makes it will be on how it looks and sounds. Most North American Indians used just a one branch flute. Like you see in movies and documentaries. Go down to the South American Indians and they use two types of multi-flutes. These flutes are tied together either with plant fibers or deer sinew. One type is several hollow branches, usually 6-8 tied next to one another. The other is a two level similar to the first, but one pile stacked on the other. Here in Florida, the Native American fests are starting and they are fairly cheap. $5-50 depending on workmanship and size. You can also try and find a Native American shop. I've seen them in downtown areas of cities and malls. They are hard to come by. Also you can order online. Try ebay or simply search yahoo or google for "Native American flute"

BTW, all the flutes I suggested are also often seen with satyrs like Pan. So any one of them would suit Puck :)

And if you are lucky enough to buy one at a Native American festival, they will often give you a crash course for free on how to play it. Rennaissance fairs sell similar ones too, but are usually more pricey.

Good luck! :)

I've been debating this for awhile, and if possible I really want to have a flute/pipe as part of my Puck ensemble. But I'm having a lot of trouble deciding on one. There's only that brief glimpse of Puck's flute in The Gathering, and that's not much to go on...except that it is brown, lol. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on types of wooden flutes that seem Puck'ish?

SIREN - Yes, I heard about it as well. Something to look forward to.

The part of me that delights in bizarre creativity demons had a recent vision of somebody entirely new to "Gargoyles" watching the DVD and proceeding to complain that Elisa's character design was a complete rip-off of Ellen Yin in "The Batman". (I find it amusingly ironic that, after all that worrying that the production team did over "Gargoyles" being perceived as being a rip-off of "Batman: TAS", the new Batman animated series produces a character who looks so spookily like Elisa.)

I just found out Disney is making a live action movie of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wadrobe. And they plan to release all the Chronicles of Narnia to the screen. WETA, the effects group responsible for LOTR costume creatures, armor, and make-up will be making all the creatures. Click my name to see a short documentary on WETA and the movie.

It almost gives me a slight bit more hope for the Gargoyles movie. Looking at what WETA does, they would probably make some great Gargoyles costumes. I wish Disney would get off the can and jump on making a Gargoyles movie before the fantasy movies die out of huge popularity

Goliath Light Float>That is CERTAINLY Goliath! Way cool!

BattleBeast>I am sorry I misjudged you. :)

Commentary>I would have to say...City of Stone. With a very very close second of The Mirror. The Mirror is wonderful and one of my favorite episodes (isn't it everyone's?) but it has more emotional points then actual history of characters. For the most part, I understand that episode completely. I see where it came from and why it's so well loved. CoS has so much vivid history. I would like to hear about the comparrison to Shakespeare's Macbeth and Gargoyle's Macbeth. As well as history on Demona, Macbeth, the Hunters, etc. There is so much to take in there.

All in all, I'd just as well be happy to see Season 2 on DVD without any bonuses :)
If I had to choose one type of bonus, I'd have to say concept art. I'd love to see more concept art like we saw in Greg's pitch. You really see how the characters evolved. Goliath for a while looked more like Beast from Beauty and the Beast. His eyes, pose, and facial expression reminded me heavily of him. Bronx of course was waaaay out there. But it was great to see where they started and how they ended up with the finished product. Also, Elisa's Farrah hair was fun to see, lol. I'd love to see more art from back when it was an action-comedy.

And two Gargoyle sightings: I work at an online auction service and we are selling a book, "The Wonderful World of Disney Television". I wasted time and went through the book and found almost a full page on Gargoyles. Of course it wasn't anything we couldn't find on IMDB.com. Mainly just voice actors and who they played, as well as crew credits. But it was fun to see. :)
And I watched TVLands 100 Most Memorable Moments on TV and Ms. Demona herself was giving commentary on different moments in TV history. I had looked away when she first came on and the instant I heard Marina's voice, I about gave myself whiplash. :)

Todd - I would actually prefer to think of where commentary would be usefull STRATEGICALLY. It's a given that the fans want commentary on all 4 parts of CoS. (I hope Greg Weisman is reading this and realizing how many of us are taking for granted that all 4 parts of CoS gets commentary.) The next obvious assumption for getting commentary is all 3 parts of Hunter's Moon. What's missing in the commentary? The commentary hasn't covered the Pack. To fill that void, I would humbly suggest commentary on Upgrade, the last episode where all members of the Pack are together.

Why Upgrade? In the 1st commentary, the main characters were intro'd. In the assumed commentary of CoS we really get into Macbeth and Demona's past, as well as commentary on Goliath working with Xanatos. Assuming Hunter's Moon goes through as commentary, we get more of the past, good commentary on Goliath/Elisa's relationship, more of Demona, and Xanatos making peace with Goliath. By doing commentary on Upgrade, we get things that are missed: the Pack, David & Fox's relationship, and a commentary on relationship among the trio.

Doing commentary on every multi-parter is great, but is that really do a complete overview of the series?

"The Mirror" would be a close second to "City of Stone" in terms of "Which early story of Season Two should have a commentary?" I'd also like one for "A Lighthouse in the Sea of Time" (one of my favorites still, both for the Arthurian content and a good way of getting across the concept of "being able to read is a good idea"). Maybe Greg could actually work in the plug for the various real books on Merlin out there (such as Mary Stewart's "The Crystal Cave") that he'd wanted to include in the episode!

Greg B> yeah, i noticed that too late... oh well.

beards> Greg once said something like "how do we know Lex doesn't shave his head and his face?" *shrugs* a typical Greg remark, lol!

Garg beards>> Defaulting to he who created them (...Greg), the answer is typically, "Some do, some don't." In Brooklyn's case, Greg has said that the most he could likely manage is a goatee. He seems to hint that the others are not likely to grow facial hair that requires shaving, though at the same time he hasn't ruled it out.

Vertigo !> Okay, well, that answers part of the question. The rest of it remains. Why doesn't Goliath have a beard, nd if he can grow one, does he need to shave?

About the gargs shaving, I doubt they did. Looking at our own species, some of us are known for being hairy while others aren't. Broadway MIGHT grow a beard considering his heritage, but I doubt the others will. Lexington doesn't have any hair to speak of, so that wouldn't be an issue for him. Given Brooklyn's choice of hair style, I don't think it would occur to him to shave either. His "beak" probably doesn't even have any hair folicles to speak of. Given how he and the others looked in "Future Tense" (Yes, I know it was made up by Puck, but given who he is he might know something of gargoyle physiology.) it may take Broadway a good while to even grow one while the others wouldn't have to worry about shaving at all.

That's absolutely Goliath in the Festival of Lights at Niagara Falls. There's no mistaking it. The finger-like protrusions on the top of the wing (used to clasp the wings together while caped), the joint protrusions on the elbows and knees, the loin cloth, the ribbed structure of the wing... it's absolutely Goliath, there's no way someone accidentally created a Goliath-like display that similar in detail.

Now the really interesting question is the origin of that particular display. Is it maybe something left over from 10 years ago or did a fan of the show put it together? Very interesting.

One would think ASKING this comment room 1st be a higher priority than submitting that particular question to Ask Greg.

Ok, that looks too much like Goliath to NOT be him.

And on gargoyles having to shave.... not too sure on this one, but if they do, then what did they use to shave back before the massacre? I'm sure it wasn't anything too nice like the small shavers that are around today.

Wanna see the Goliath light that Battle Beast was talking about earlier?

http://www.iaw.on.ca/~falls/image/light32.gif

Pretty sure it's not the demon from Fantasia. I don't believe that one was shown below the waist, was it? Nope, that loincloth is distinctly Goliath's and I'm pretty sure the face and what little I can see of the hair gives it away as well. Can't remember Fantasia very well, saw it so long ago, so I'm not sure if the wings and body are unique to Goliath as well or if the two characters are a lot more similar than I'm imagining. Would be nice to have a larger image. I'm sure we could get one if we could find out who these are made by or where they're stored or something, it'd be a nice thing to share with the rest of the fandom.

I wonder if that's supposed to be the corner of a building he's on, or a chimney. Chimney would be cool for a Xmas quality. I'd like to own it. It's like how the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas doubles as both a Halloween and Xmas movie, that Goliath light would work well for either occasion (heh, who cares if your family and/or neighbors question your mental health when you put it up at Xmas).

Phoenyx > Good question, I'd never wondered about that. Maybe it's one of those off-screen things, kinda like how you know characters need to go to the bathroom on TV and in books, but it isn't often depicted/described by creators 'cause it's not something that needs to be seen or said unless it's important to the story for some reason. I have a feeling the Trio may still be too young to need to shave if gargoyles' hair-growing is anything like that of humans. They're in their 30s or so, right? But that means they're teens by gargoyle age standards. Personally I had to shave on a weekly and soon after daily basis by the time I was 14, but I know some guys who didn't grow facial hair much or at all until they were 18 or later and even some who were shaving as early as 11 or 12. So it varies, as I imagine it would with gargoyles as well. Maybe even Goliath hasn't had to shave yet, maybe they don't grow facial hair until they're elderly. I'm trying to remember if any of the other gargoyles that seemed to be roughly Goliath's age had any facial hair...maybe the ones in the Amazonian (or were they Mexican?) and Japanese clans? Can't remember. If they did have facial hair, then it must be that either Goliath is shaving or hair growth varies by ethnicity.

Definitely "City of Stone", and "The Mirror" if he can squeeze it in. That was just too fun an episode NOT to have a commentary track for. If at all possible, Greg's rambles on all the episodes upto "High Noon" should make it on the S2 DVDs, and the rest included for each of the remaining episodes. (He hopefully would have rambled on the rest of the second season by that time. If not...well, Disney could always leave a link to here to read more.)

Random question. Do gargoyles have to shave? I was wondering this bc Goliath and the Trio are all clean shaven, and Hudson has a beard. Hmm...

Season 2 episode commentaries>> I'd like a commentary on "The Mirror," particularly from Greg, Keith and Marina. I think there's plenty in that episode to make for a good commentary; G/E, humans being monsters, and Demmie (do I need to expand on that?).

TODD> My vote would also be "City of Stone". Greg and Frank and hopefully another voice actor also. Since it's "City of Stone", Marina Sirtis or John Rhys-Davies would be great.

MATT> We're talking about a commentary for the next 13 episode batch they'd release. "Hunter's Moon" is a natural for later.

Todd: CoS would definately be the one to do commentary on. It's one of the most important stories in the whole series, and besides, it's what Greg could say the most on. I particularly think he should talk about which Wierd Sister is which, as a lot of people (myself included) don't really get the more subtle stuff Greg was doing with them unless it's pointed out to us (I only got it after reading the Ask Greg stuff on them).

I also think it would cool if they could get Marina Sirtis(sp?) and John Ryns-Daves(sp?) to do commentary on it too.

Why do you think they would only S2's first 13? I imagine they could include Avalon part 1 and leave it as a cliff hanger.

*Sighs* Well, it looks like i won't be able to make it to Las Vegas for my first Gathering. My cousin had to go and get all engaged on New Year's. They want to get married at the end of July. That date is still in the air. Hopefully, it will change.
Todd> COS would be a wonderful ep to have commentary with, I would also like to see commentary for the Silver Falcon, as it shows that there are other humans out there for the gargoyles to trust.

Todd> CoS would be cool, but why not Hunters Moon 1-3? i'd like to have those commentaries as good bookends. *shrugs* really though, i don't care, i'd be thrilled with Season 2 on DVD even if it had no commentaries!

10th!!!

Sorry...

Todd> I would like to see "The Mirror" or "Vows" as well as CoS. SInce he was able to do five for the first one, I think he would naturally choose CoS. I would be cool if he let the fans choose a couple eps to do commentary on. I think some "fan" input would do the DVD wonders.

Greg would have a field day talking about all the Macbeth/Demona stuff. In fact, I would love to hear him compare Willy's Mac to his Mac. Greg could do the whole 88 min commentary himself!

That is all I will say.

8th.

This is something that I've wanted to bring up for the last couple of days, but thought that I should wait until the room cleared first.

We don't know whether the DVD sold well enough for Disney to decide to bring out a Season Two DVD (though let's hope so), but for now, let's assume that it did, and that Disney announces that it is coming out with a Season Two Part One DVD that covers the second season all the way up to "High Noon" (that is, "Leader of the Pack", "Metamorphosis", "Legion", "A Lighthouse in the Sea of Time", "The Mirror", "The Silver Falcon", "Eye of the Beholder", "Vows", "City of Stone" - all four parts, and "High Noon"). Greg and other people involved in the show (such as Frank Paur and a few of the voice actors) can do an audio commentary on *one* story in the DVD - either one single-parter or one multi-parter. In such a case, which "Gargoyles" adventure from the above list would you wish most to see them do an audio commentary on?

My own vote would be for "City of Stone". It'd be neat to have Greg talking about the "compare-and-contrast" between the Macbeth of "Gargoyles" and the Macbeth of Shakespeare and how they drew upon the real history of Macbeth for these episodes. We could also hear a lot of insights on the character development of Demona and Macbeth here, the role of the Weird Sisters, and Xanatos and Goliath's team-up (which stands out to me still since it defies so many of the conventions of hero-villain truces in animation). Of course, I also hope that the commentators would be silent during the moments when Demona utters her two biggest lines in the story, "What have I - what have they done to you?" and "The access code is - alone." (They certainly knew to be silent during some of the best lines in "Awakening" such as Goliath telling the Magus to cast his spell one more time.)

Hey, thats kinda cool Siren. Now if only those lenses were UV reflective. ;) I freaked a couple people out one year by putting UV reflective lenses in my eyes and held a UV light upto my eyes in the dark. :D Of course, I couldn't see squat with the light in my face, but the reactions I heard were priceless. ;)
