............Last month, got my Electric Tiki... Last week, got my Bowen designed Goliath statue. Let me tell you it's not as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Yes, he's more muscular than the other statue, but this one doesn't really look 'too' fake. Wasn't sure how it would look from the pictures online, but it really is nice...
Did anyone else order this one? and what do you think of it?

I wrote a post on my blog about an issue which I consider important but is totally off-topic for the purposes of this forum, so I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look at it. Thank you!

Yeah, and the "Batman TAS" episode ended with Bane being completely humiliated, Batman pulling off his mask and in a pitying manner saying "is THIS the best you can throw at me, Thorn?" The crew hated the character, and it showed.
And "Mystery of the Batwoman?" Seriously? There was nothing intelligent about that movie.
Bane never impressed me in any other non-comic book media before this. In "Young Justice" he was actually intelligent, and cunning. And actually well voice acted, unlike his TAS incarnations.
I suppose the older adaptations of Bane were intelligent... when compared to 1980's cartoon villains.

Bane also appeared in the DCAU movie Mystery of the Batwoman and in an early episode of The Batman. He wasn't stupid in either appearance.

I have to disagree a little with people saying that this is the first time Bane has been portrayed as intelligent. In Batman: The Animated Series, Bane was depicted as being fairly intelligent, studying Batman before he confronted him. ("Bane") In the revamp of the show that aired on the WB, Bane, in a dream sequence, was shown to be fairly calculating. ("Over the Edge") Finally, in an episode of Superman, Bane was shown organizing a new gang consisting of himself, the Riddler, and the Mad Hatter. ("Knight Time")
Of course the portrayal of Bane in Batman & Robin has tended to overshadow this. ,

Todd: Wotan was just a name-drop; the emergency involving him trying to block the sun was what the Justice League were forced to attend to rather than the fire at Cadmus Labs, allowing the three "sidekicks" (gets punched at super-speed) to investigate it on their own, unbeknownst to the busy League.
So we never actually saw Wotan or whatever he was up to in the pilot. Whether that changes in the future is still up in the air (but this being a Weisman series and all, I wouldn't be surprised).

Sorry for the double post, but I was reading Greg's latest answers at "Ask Greg" and noticed a "Young Justice" question about "Independence Day" which mentioned somebody named Wotan as the antagonist. To those here who saw the episode, did Wotan show any "Odinish" qualities (since "Wotan" is the Germanic version of Odin's name, popularized by Wagner), or does the name seem to have been just a coincidence? (I also noted, in the same question, a mention of a magic amulet linked to the sun, called the Amulet of Aten - Greg Weisman confirmed the spelling - and thought it an appropriate name for something connected to the sun.)

I have heard this quote from Demona to Goliath somewhere, but I cannot for the life of me remember where.
"You're no bastion of morality yourself, Goliath!"
I don't think it was in the canon 66, but it could have been in one of the Goliath Chronicals... it certainly wasn't in the cannon comic... it may well ahve been in the Marvel comic or Disney Adventures... it could very well have been in a fan fic. (I read many of them).
Does anyone else remeber this quote or am I dreaming?

Well I am just alerting there is always online and dvd availability. Camelot seems to be Starz answer to the Game of Thrones. Check out the page I don't quite know what take on Arthurian legend this is. It certainly has no similarity to Broadway musical. It is a darker fantasy the Merlin in this version Ralph Fiennes brother plays a more earthy and warrior like Merlin than I have seen before.Either way I keep people posted. Good eye candy to Eva Green plays Morgana and the Guenevere is played by a beautiful but unknown to me actress. This series seems to Focus on Arthur Pendragon's early life. It is like a similar show on Sci-fi
called Merlin focused on a sibling rivalry between Morgana and Arthur.

Dres: Not so much indifference, just perhaps nothing substantive to add to the discussion. In my own particular case, I don't subscribe to Starz, and I didn't even know such a show existed. Despite my enthusiasm for Gargoyles take on Arthur Pendragon, I'm unlikely to order Starz anytime soon so my catching of the show remains unlikely and my discussing it is pretty moot. *shrug*
Phil: I tend to mooch on my dad's subscription to National Geographic, lol, so thanks for the heads up . . . I'll be looking forward to this issue when he's done reading it :)

I have a "This Day in History" desk calendar that gives a historical event for each day of the year. The entry for today was about the discovery of the world's largest diamond in South Africa on January 25, 1905. The diamond was cut up into several diamonds; the largest two were named the "Star of Africa I" and the "Star of Africa II"; both are now on display in the Tower of London (presumably as part of the Crown Jewels, though the entry didn't say). I wonder if this was the inspiration for the "Star of Arabia" mentioned in Xanatos's private collection in "Her Brother's Keeper".

Long story short, back when Disney Adventures had Disney Afternoon comics, there was a 5 part comic featuring this new character called the Chaos God. The link should explain the rest.
Oh and two continuity glitches. One intentional for the sake of fitting one of the installments and the other an error:
1.
Yeah, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers takes place in a world dominated by actual humans, but for the sake of the crossover, the humans in their world are anthromorphic animals.
2.
Yes you are correct. Fenton and Gizmoduck are shown standing next to each other before the Darkwing Duck story ends. Oooops.
