So after reading the last couple posts, I'm guessing s8 is now all one giant inside joke if you're not participating on the twitter thing?

It looks like Marshall's last "report" is spreading out into the various accounts. Though none of the Redemption Squad ever mentioned Osama bin Laden being on their list, I wonder what responses they'll have.

Another correction, I have it on good authority that Mr. Xanatos declined to be interviewed. Still I'm loving this. I hope "Travis" makes this a regular feature.

Anyone who's interest in the formspring goings on might want to head over about now. Travis Marshall is hosting a special ep of Nightwatch with special guests Captain George Stacy, Dominque Destine, Norman Osborn, Alexander Thailog and David Xanatos.

The whole formspring troop has been very funny, even out-right hilarious, but I gotta say, in an otherwise pretty busy week, I'm glad I was finally able to catch this exchange between some questioner and the Stone of Destiny itself:

"How can you type without hands?"
"Do you think that the Spirit of Destiny can be contained within one vessel?"

So simple and so absurd, yet soooo funny. XD

I privately asked Jareth's player why they were interested in incorporating Jareth into the Gargoyles Fanon and they privately responded to me: "Because nobody in the Labyrinth Fandom has a Formspring and will play with me, and the Gargoyles fandom is just so fun!"

Lord Oberon has revealed his nearly-as-nasty father on Formspring. Apparently, it's The Erlking. This makes an obscene amount of sense, frankly, and fully justifies Merlin saying that Maleficent takes after his grandmother AND grandfather (it makes her the Elf-king's daughter or Elverkongens datter as mentioned it the myth's most early forms).

Whoever is behind the adaptation of this mythology for the Formspring characters, I would gladly shake your hand.

RICHARD JACKSON> Yes, I've seen the episode at least a hundred times. And no, that does not count. Demona is pulled off of Elisa by Gabriel and Guardian pretty much right away.

That is not a fight. And if no one else were in the room, Elisa would have likely been gutted within another couple of seconds.

Greg Bishansky - [<--- Greg's Blog of Clue-By-Fours]
"Cartman gets ten million dollars and Michael Bay gets to keep making movies. There isn't a God." -Kyle

Starting at 5:45 is where her non-fight with Demona begins. Elisa does roll around with her and holds Demona's arms back. I guess she was using leverage. Aside from "Awakening" part 5, I think that was the only time Elisa and Demona physically made contact when they were not the same race. "Race" in this context, gargoyles, humans and Oberon's children.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxJe2n1Ky0k

Richard Jackson

RICHARD JACKSON> I doubt that counts either. Especially since Gabriel and Guardian pulled Demona off of Elisa probably about a second after she pounced on her. So, nope, that was not a fight.

This was a recent answer on Ask Greg. http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=13259

Frustratingly, the questioner didn't specify that it was from Avalon Part 3 where human Elisa fought gargoyle Demona.

Richard Jackson

...Okey dokey, I've now officially posed the question to every "Gargoyles" and "Spectacular Spider-Man" character currently on Formspring, and a couple others besides (Maleficent apparently prefers Walt Disney, LOL).

Still waiting to hear back from King Arthur, Oberon, the Stone of Destiny, the Holy Grail, Anubis, Thoth, Odin, Coyote the Trickster, Angela, Marvel's Loki, Set, Zafiro, Obsidiana, and Negaduck. But I'm lovin' how this thing is going so far...especially learning what a wide field the current viewership of "Young Justice" holds amongst the casts. XD

This may well be one of my favorite things ever written.

Incidentally, do you think there would be any issues with me collecting all of the responses to the Greg Weisman questions and posting them on AskGreg once the question feature reopens? I'm thinking the big guy would get a kick out of them, especially ones like Amp's, Merlin's, and everyone who mentioned "Young Justice" and "W.I.T.C.H." As I recall, the three Illuminati members at the final Gathering Masquerade told Greg he was One. Obviously, Edmund must therefore be a Thirty-Six. Still, the idea of him being equal to The Big Man, Bluestone, Thailog, and XANATOS is just wrong on so many levels.

Masterdramon> At first I was a little bothered by the plot thread that their players have going that Lunette and Gnash are dating now (Because of the obvious TGS connection, I even asked Gnash about it) but then I realized...Gnash and Lunette are the only canon Gargoyles the same age that Greg has created. (I mean we know that most of the clans must have them, and Lunette has siblings, but Gnash and Lunette are the only canon gargs we've seen that hatched in 1978) And then I changed my mind and decided that it was brilliant and I liked it.

I'm really loving the responses I'm getting from the general "What is your opinion on Greg Weisman?" question, LOL. Apparently Spidey isn't the only one watching "Young Justice" at the moment; Brooklyn, Gnash, Angela, Broadway, and Lexington are catching it regularly as well. Meanwhile Dingo "loves" him, Mary Jane wants to voice act in one of his productions (and is "a tad jealous" of Vanessa Marshall for getting to play Black Canary in "Young Justice," LOL), Hunter and Castaway have both noted the similarity of his siblings' names to their own (and I've sent a follow-up to Castaway asking why he would say such a thing, given that they spell their names differently...slip-ups are fun!), Doc Ock thinks he's a hack and that Edmund Tsabard is far superior of a writer, and Venom...loved the second season of W.I.T.C.H.

Yeah, this whole thing was worth it to learn that Eddie Brock watched W.I.T.C.H. Maybe he ain't such a monster after all. XD

Responses still pending from Elisa, Norman, Gnash, Matrix, the Goblin, the Jolly One, Yama, Coldstone, Gwen, Peter, Shari, and Sally.

Of course, Greg Weisman started it all with his own Gargoyles/Spectacular Spider-Man crossover. Even though it's not canon, it's still a lot of fun.

(I wonder if the Stone of Destiny and the Holy Grail exchanged "heys" with the Spear of Destiny when it arrived at Carbonek.)

Todd Jensen - [merlyn1@mindspring.com]

What I love most is that we have multiple plot threads occurring at the same time. It feels sorta like peeking in to the Gargoyles Universe...or rather The Universe right NEXT to the gargoyles Universe where the SpecSpidey crew can interact as well. We see Griff, Arthur, and Fleur Grail hunting, we also see Demona and Doc Ock in their turf war, and we see John Castaway is in London (Just in time for the Royal Wedding, no less) investigating the sightings of the London Clan.

Maleficent is vying to overthrow Oberon, and this whole thing is...well...awesome. Kudos to everyone doing this! (Who are doubtless frequent visitors to this CR)

Likewise, I've become absolutely addicted to constantly checking these things; the power grabs, alliances, and betrayals all read so true that sometimes I forget that the "Gargoyles" and "Spectacular Spider-Man" universes aren't canonically linked. But it's damn fun reading, I gotta say.

Just recently started throwing my hat in the ring myself and asking around for the characters' opinions on Greg Weisman; the two that have come back so far (Goliath: "Who?" and Demona: "He is a human.") were fairly expected, but I'm awaiting responses from Thailog, Xanatos, and Spidey with interest. And I'll keep spreading around the same query to the rest of the expanding cast once the system lets me ask questions again, LOL.

Brainiac> You should create a Travis Marshall account! It would allow you do exactly what you've been doing and interact with characters. You might even score an interview with Goliath. The Jolly One has an account, why not Marshall?

Chip> I'm enjoying it as well. When the most recent events were just getting started, I had to ask Xanatos about a security breach (given his response, I should have prefaced the question by identifying myself as Travis Marshall) and I'm about to ask Coyote 6.0 why he'd bother following his programming to work for Coldsteel if he has indeed been given free will (once Formspring lets me - I've been a bit chatty).

Well, the site's files have been uploaded to our new web provider, but we're still setting up the database, and once that's done our webmaster need to do a check for any obvious glitches. The website owner also wants to upgrade the wiki software to the latest build, which will slow things down a bit.

There are times I love TVTropes comments. From the Just Bugs Me/Headscratchers page for Young Justice, after a lengthy debate on "Hello, Megan!":

"I don't care why she says it, she just needs to stop it. I swear if she keeps saying it, I am going to unleash a wave of psychic energy that is going to kill every puppy in a three-mile radius. And they aren't just going to fall over, no, they are going to explode. You don't want that on your conscious, do you Greg Weisman? Then knock it off."

I think Sally Avril is my favorite. Like I said a few days ago, it's either the best or worst one ever. I don't know who plays her, but damn, they're good at being a bitchy airhead.

Greg Bishansky - [<--- Greg's Blog of Clue-By-Fours]
"Cartman gets ten million dollars and Michael Bay gets to keep making movies. There isn't a God." -Kyle

Heyward> THIS is Formspring: http://www.formspring.me/

It's a question and answer social networking site, that you can connect to your facebook and twitter. The good folks who did the Gargoyles Twitter theater (and quite a few others actually) created RP accounts on Formspring and connected them to their Twitters. Demona, Thailog, and Griff have had them the longest, but as of late, other gargoyles characters have pretty much started coming out of the woodwork.
In addition to the Gargoyles character list that provided before, a number of Spectacular Spider-man Characters have popped up and have used the Radio Play as an excuse to...merge...their world with Gargoyles and create a shared continuity that could never happen in any canon materials.
They Include
The Green Goblin
Norman Osborn
Spidey
Peter Parker
Sandman
Vulture
Doc Ock
J Jonah Jameson,
and Sally Avril

And finally a number of Non-Gargoyles, and non-specspidey characters have been attempting to integrate or interact with Gargoyles characters for whatever reasons. Some of their players have made some natural or logical fanon to integrate them.
Loki (who claimes to be a visitor from the 616 Universe, although I would think that Marvel-26496 the official designation for Spec Spidey in the Marvel Multiverse makes more sense. After some initial resistance the Gargoyles/Spec Spidey accepted him)
Maleficent (From 1959 Disney's Sleeping Beauty. Claims to be Oberon's brother--and thus Mab's daughter--banished to another Universe. Logical, but definitely not even close to be canon)
Jareth and Sarah--From the 80's movie Labyrinth. No idea why this person wants to be incorporated/integrated into the Gargoyles verse, but has claimed to be a member of the Third Race a number of times, and Oberon has claimed he is his brother (But, if you are paying attention, Mab is NOT Jareth's mother, meaning they are half-brothers on their Father's side...hmmm...who's your daddy Oberon?)
Bob the Skull (From the Book Series Dresden Files) This one was very surprising, I've read and loved the Dresden Files books, and for the most part, they're kinda compatible with the Gargoyles Universe...except where Fairies are concerned. I'm not sure how his player plans to reconcile this, but it could be interesting. I found it hilarious the Demona doesn't think that Bob is a "Real thing". I anonymously attempted to explain what Bob was, but she refused to believe me. Ironic, because Bob probably could help her wipe out humanity quickly, he's practically omniscient.

Heyward

Chip> I think that's everyone...for now, at least. In the case of the canon-in-training folks, since the Formspring accounts are most definitely non-canon (for incorporating the final Radio Play, if nothing else), I'd say include them. Of course, that opens the whole "expanded universe" problem, which leads to...

Greg B> ...the fact that I agree it makes perfect sense, just like Xanatos and Osborn being business associates (of course, Xanatos can and most likely will run rings around Gobby and his glider).

Greg Bishansky - [<--- Greg's Blog of Clue-By-Fours]
"Cartman gets ten million dollars and Michael Bay gets to keep making movies. There isn't a God." -Kyle

Brainiac> A master list wouldn't have to include the characters from other realities, like Maleficent or Loki. We could use it to write down the core Gargoyles characters, and anyone interested would see the outside interactions for themselves when they opened the accounts. The tricky part are the characters like Thoth and Nimue, who while being canon-in-training characters, never appeared in the show/comic. Do we include them or not?

Please correct me if I missed one, but I think that this is everyone who's shown up so far:
Demona
Thailog
Griff
Shari
Amp
Lunette
Coco
King Arthur
Merlin
Fleur
Goliath
Elisa
Xanatos
Brooklyn
Gnash
Katana
Castaway
Hunter
Matrix
Dingo
Yama
Fang
Zafiro
Obsidiana
Coldstone
The Tasmanian Tiger
Oberon
Odin
Coyote
Anubis
Nimue*
Set*
Thoth*

Chip - [<------The League of Extraordinary Nerds Here!]
"An explanation of cause is not a justification by reason." C. S. Lewis

The thing about the Formspring characters is that they're interacting with a lot of other realities. I mean, a form of Marvel's Loki has shown up to take the place of the Gargoyles universe's deceased one, the Spectacular crew are obviously around (is it wrong that I hear Jennifer Anderson's voice instead of Grey DeLisle's for Sally Avril?), and most recently, the Mistress of All Evil herself has shown up and started taunting Lord Oberon. This stuff is just marvelous to watch (plus the idea of Maleficent being Mab's daughter and Oberon's sister is quite amusing) but it makes creating a master list a LOT harder if you want to get all of the interactions. Still, thanks to several of the characters tying Twitter to Formspring, getting started through the Twitter Theater should work for now as Phoenician said. I just wish Twitter Sevarius would let me know if a Formspring account is coming or not.

And now I'll shut up and wait for ninth and tenth.
