Wingless> Oh, gosh, I know that! :) But my suggestion is only a small step into getting the third DVD PROPERLY released.
Battle Beast - [Canada]
I did it! I watched all 485 Best picture nominees in 365 days!

Oh! The scene from "Upgrade" that you refer to must be the one after Elisa gets Goliath, Hudson, and Bronx to fight The Pack and she says there's no time to get the others because "It's all going down now." When they arrive, the police are shooting tear gas into the building, and there's a big explosion. Elisa says "Tear gas doesn't make that kind of explosion," and Coyote (just the flying head, he's not yet in his full "body" yet) says "You win a gold star, detective."

Remember now?

Ah, okay. Thanks for explaining.
Arlo
Gargoyles need not apply.

Apparently, there's one scene in "Upgrade" where a random building gets blown up. I've never caught the scene in question, but that was the reason why it was taken out of the line-up 11 years ago. "Outfoxed" was taken out at the same time, for somewhat more understandable reasons (an aircraft being flown at a New York skyscraper? Yeah, that probably *would* be nightmare inducing for any eight-year old watching a week after 9/11.)

"Golem" is stretching it a bit, but there was a considerable amount of property damage caused by one of the 'good guys', which could be viewed by some as trying to send kids the message that "vandalism is okay".

Spen

Maybe this is just me being slow, but I don't see the connection between September 11th and "Upgrade." Or, for that matter, "Golem." I guess "To Serve Mankind" does portray Goliath as a terrorist in a way.

Masterdramon : "Unfortunate but not unexpected. Disney XD has always labeled "Possession" as one of the Goliath Chronicles when airing it on TV.

No clue why, but they always have."

It might have something to do with "Possession" being 4319 number 67. They probably just looked at that production number and assumed that it belonged with all the other post-65 episodes.

With the other missing episodes, I can at least understand skipping "Upgrade" (it was removed from the Toon Disney lineup after 9/11), and I can sort of see why someone would take out "Golem" and "To Serve Mankind" for the same reasons. "High Noon" and especially "Walkabout" make no sense whatsoever though.

Disney hasn't released the last episodes of Gargoyles Season Two, Volume Two and Season Three on DVD? When will Disney release Gargoyles Season Two, Volume Two and Season Three on DVD with the 39 episodes?

WTF, I have Direct tv and the guide says that gargoyles should still come on at 3 in the morning, but lately it's been showing fish hooks instead. Is this because that put the show on line, they yanked it from television?

As I've stated, I don't think that the "To Serve Mankind" is actually an oversight since it isn't being run here in Canada either. Could be the censors have found an issue with it.

Wingless: I'm only comparing the second half of season two. I've been searching for good copies of those episodes for ages. I have all the episodes recorded on VHS from at least four different stations, TV-to-DVD recordings from Jetix, plus the whole show in nine different languages, and nothing tops what I found last night on Disney's site. These look incredible. If they were uncut, they'd be perfect.

I also finally have the correct Vows ending in great quality. Score!

Brainiac: I noticed the To Serve Mankind oversight, too. They probably left it out on accident, but it's still hilarious!

Missed a segment there; my apologies.

...sections for Season 2 on the master list include such oddities.

I've gone digging through the Disney Videos site. It's rather odd how most of the videos missing from the Gargoyles master list (http://video.disney.com/shows/gargoyles-4ba34a5545c1259e961b9666) can be found through the search system or the Suggested Videos of the various other episodes. Anyways, of the twelve episodes I mentioned were missing from the master list, eight are findable. High Noon, Upgrade, Golem, & Walkabout remain unavailable (along with To Serve Mankind, a deliciously amusing oversight).

Personally, beyond just getting all of the episodes available (and getting Possession listed correctly), I think it's important for the site to have them properly ordered for both the master list and general playback. Case in point - I have a tab open for City of Stone, Part 1 which lists the "Up Next" episode as The Price while in the sections for Season 2 include such notable oddities as Revelations in-between Kingdom & Mark of the Panther and Leader of the Pack after Eye of the Beholder & Vows.

Battle Beast: with all due respect, having the videos online legitimately is all well & fine, but it's not what we want. We can't watch them on our large screen TVs(not that I have one yet-but someday) and they're not uncensored. We're half of the way there, but lets have the rest on DVD- then I'll offer my thank yous.

D. Taina: are you saying these look better than the DVD's?

Wingless

Matt> Presumably because Before the Dawn didn't air as originally scheduled. I assume those same fans who type excessively in capital letters and have a habit of calling Weisman and Vietti internet trolls for producing stories with conflict or things happening on screen in a sequence may or may not have called him a liar.

Or maybe it's a general statement that he does not intend to lie to people. Either way.

(I haven't observed anything, I'm just assuming the former happened).

Harlan Phoenix

I looked through the whole Disney Videos site and found most of the Season Two Volume 2 episodes, except for Golem and Walkabout.

These have to be THE best copies of the episodes I've ever seen. Up until yesterday, I thought that the German copies were the best, but now they pale in comparison. It's too bad about the Toon Disney edits, though. But hey, no logos!

So, who do I e-mail about Golem, Walkabout and fixing the title for Possession?

Neill> The videos are DVD quality. No Disney Logos in the corner, no commercials (except a short one before), etc. Very nice. I'll try to have a screen shot up soon.

I think we should attempt to email Disney and thank them for uploading the videos, and ask that they correct the title for Posession and ask that they upload the rest of the missing episodes.

Battle Beast> See my previous post; it's more than just those four episodes missing.

As to the removed scenes video, it's right here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRmVeZYXNr8

Of note is the fact that Elisa pulling the trigger in Sentinel and drawing on Oberon in Ill Met By Moonlight are indeed included in current airings - it's the other scenes from those episodes included in the compilation that are at least partially removed (which makes the discussion about iron in Ill Met By Moonlight quite a nonsensical mess).

Again-not surprisingly-Disney XD isn't running "To Serve Mankind" in Canada either. and it took them until about april of this year to start regularly running TGC eps anyway(Although they did slip "The Journey" in for some reason back in January.) I'll never understand Disney.

The company that owns Disney XD in Canada (Astral Media) was recently swallowed by a bigger company-(Bell Media). One can only imagine what will happen. Some channels have and are being rebranded as something else entirely. Who knows what the big Bell will do to Disney XD and the other Astral properties.

ANONYMOUS> "Deadly Force" is up, dude.
Greg Bishansky - [<--- Greg's Blog of Clue-by-Fours]
Here's the problem with most fanfic writers: they seem to think Dominique is a second life. It isn't. Demona spelled it plainly in "High Noon." She's a gargoyle. Dominique is just a tool to help her in her goals. She'll use the form because she changes into a human, whether she likes it or not, but Dominique is not another life for her.

Let's see: Toon Disney edits, missing episodes, (meaning Deadly Force once again gets the shaft!) and of course "Chronicles" eppies. In other words, the Mouse House is just toying with us again.

Probably.

http://www.squidoo.com/thegeeklens-cartoons

could this video.disney thing be what was being 'teased' with regards to gargoyles being available in 2012 (as in, not on dvd but it's released this way) ?
wherein customer service may have seen a mark that something was coming and therefore responded as such when asked about it. but in fact it was a release in this manner rather than dvd?

i'm just asking if we know if that's what is going on here ?

SomeGeek
http://www.squidoo.com/thegeeklens-cartoons

Will watching the episodes on video.disney.com get Disney's attention? Do you think they will look on how many "hits" each video has to see if it's worth the investment to put the show out on DVD?
Anthony Tini

Disney Video> Unfortunately, Season Two is currently completely out of order and missing twelve entire episodes (High Noon, Upgrade, Golem, Walkabout, The Gathering, Vendettas, The Reckoning, Possession, and Hunter's Moon). I do wonder if they originally intended not to upload any of TGC as they skipped one episode in that set, giving it 12 episodes - the same number as those missing from Season 2.

Amusingly enough, the missing TGC ep is To Serve Mankind. I guess even Disney can't stand he who shall not be named.

Oh yeah, Tale Spin. I miss that. I wish it had had some kind of final conclusion, the same way it had a great premiere.

I think some kind of Disney Afternoon revival is not out of the question. Nicktoons has the "The 90s Are All That" block, showing old programming late at night which has been successful. And Cartoon Network revived the "Toonami" block in name for late night as well, though the actual shows are newer. I'd be all for a hypothetical "Disney Afternoon: After Midnight" and if the current nostalgia trend holds true it could potentially do well.

Hey, did you know that Disney just added most (all?) episodes of Gargoyles on their official site!?
http://video.disney.com/

And with a very cool banner advertising it!
They may not have released the last episodes on DVD yet, but I think it's quite a huge news! (I'd go crazy if they added TaleSpin the same way!!)

The last couple of years, it seems Disney has done more and more efforts towards the Disney Aftenoon...(I'm even hearing a rumor about the "Disney Afternoon" being revived on the Disney channel soon, though it's probably fake.) But they will be releasing new set of pin's in December, they release new DA tee shirts "regularly", and add to that the previous Boom! comics, the repackaging of the DVD sets this year, and the vinylmations...

Could all this lead to something even bigger?? I hope so!!!

(Unrelated but if some of you are TaleSpin fans, here is a brand new and very cool tee shirt for sale, that I've found today! http://www.animationsource.org/talespin/en/comments/New_Baloo_s_Air_Service_tee_shirt/3324.html)

I've thought about doing it, but I should probably just admit I'm never going to get around to it.

Arlo
Gargoyles need not apply.

But again, he was silhouetted there.

I think the thing is they're both tall, muscular creatures with wings, so they tend to get mistaken for each other when the other one might be in mind and the lighting isn't very good.

But since most people aren't 7 feet tall, you may have a point there. I'd have to look at "Her Brother's Keeper" again to see if there are any shots of them standing together before the transformation.

Arlo
Gargoyles need not apply.

>>Um... when was this established? No one confused them except when Elisa saw a big, winged silhouette on a roof... which is not the same as seeing him from ten feet away.

Broadway also mistook Talon for Goliath from about ten feet away in "Kingdom."

"It's Golia--! Oh, hi Talon."

Paul - [nampahcfluap@yahoo.com]

I tend to think the current theme is just right for this site. But if you guys are getting tired of it, you can change it. I won't be able to play anymore, though. I haven't followed any of Greg's other shows, and I know only the basics about the planned spin-offs.
Arlo
Gargoyles need not apply.

Arlo> Not forbidden, but we've been doing quotes for, what, 5 weeks or so now? Might be time to pick a new theme for the countdown before they are all repeats.
Supermorff

Yes I think that in general Goliath looks like Talon, In the way they both are nearly 7 feet tall with claws and wings. But this could be said about the other male Mutates. Confusion about their identities was always based on assumptions. For example, Elisa assumed Goliath was watching her when it was actually Talon. Everyone assumed Talon kidnapped Sevarious when Goliath really did it.
As evidenced with the steel clan, Xanatos obviously has a massive Garg-crush on Goliath. He may see him as the ultimate warrior or weapon.

Brack

Supermoff> I wasn't aware repeats were forbidden. There's no way I would have been able to participate in this if I'd known that.

I have a question about Talon's physical appearance.

In "The Cage" and "Kingdom," it's established that he resembles Goliath closely enough that one can be mistaken for the other.

Did Xanatos and Sevarius deliberately mutate him to look like Goliath, or was it just a coincidence?
