Young Justice:
Got to love how the Reach never let a crisis go to waste. Very Obama doctrine. Final a foe with a BRAIN.
COMET> I doubt it was intentional since no one on this side of the pond worked on the German translation, as far as I know anyway.
Greg Bishansky - [<--- Greg's Blog of Clue-by-Fours]
"For every two dozen Phantom Menaces, there is a Return of the King. For every two-bit Shyamalan, a Stanley Kubrick is born. For every poor soul who groans during an Adam Sandler-funded Rob Schneider vehicle, there is a child crying life-affirming tears when Bambi's mom is shot. Somewhere out there, a film student is finding out what Rosebud means for the first time. A man is pausing as Fredo prays the Hail Mary on a boat over Lake Tahoe. A woman grasps her heart as Bogie's love flies off into the foggy night. All it takes is one moment to change a person. And that one moment... no matter how fleeting... is worth a thousand Transformers."

Sorry for double posting. I found something interesting since the "random page" button finally decided to lead me to a page I never saw before.
http://gargwiki.net/Prospero is not only a wizard, but also the name for the RECAP robot in the German version.
I don't know if this was intentional.

I can think about lots of things that could be discussed, but I don't know how to post them proberly, and I'm also too lazy to translate some, at least at the moment. :/

I think we've simply run out of things to discuss. Either that, or we keep on posting comments that don't encourage further discussion - comments with a close-ended tone like "Angels in the Night" rather than open-ended like "Hunter's Moon".

If any of you forgot what finally had its TV broadcast last Saturday...shame on you! I was at a festival that weekend and I remembered to check my DVR before I left just to be sure (and it's good I did, because Before the Dawn was listed with its originally-planned air date, thus making the system think it was a repeat).

But if you need a reminder for this coming Saturday - and a few DC Nation tidbits to tide you over - enjoy!

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

I have a feeling that William H. was in fact Oberon in a human form.
Brack

History trivia for today: on January 10, 1787, the English astronomer William Herschel discovered two of Uranus' moons and named them after Oberon and Titania. What Oberon and Titania thought of that in the Gargoyles Universe (since they were in the outside world at the time, they'd have probably learned about it before long) is not recorded.

I think that Gargoyles need to eat much more calcium than humans. What do you think?

When King Arthur was first introduced in the "Avalon" episodes, secret societies didn't seem to be of much concern. Of course the Illuminati had been introduced in prior episodes and were a major plot point in at least one of them, but the connection between King Arthur and the Illuminati wouldn't be established until the comics were published more than a decade later.

King Arthur was awakened when the Avalon Clan, Goliath, and Elisa were fighting the Archmage, Demona, Macbeth, and the Weird Sisters, and I'm not sure how any of them related to social issues in the mid 90s. Perhaps the Archmage being armed with three magical talismans could be likened to the nuclear bomb, and the Archmage does say that science is as deadly as sorcery.

SUPERMORFF - And a lot of major works of Arthurian fiction have drawn inspiration from what were current events at the time they were being written. "Le Morte d'Arthur" shows some general parallels with England at the time of the Wars of the Roses (including disgusted remarks on fickle loyalties as people desert Arthur for Mordred, presumably echoing people switching sides from Lancaster to York or vice versa), "The Idylls of the King" reflects the concerns about morality and correct behavior in Victorian England, "The Once and Future King" about the horrors of war and dictatorship as World War II begins (with Mordred even having some Hitler-like moments), "The Mists of Avalon" makes use of modern-day feminism and neo-paganism, etc. Greg Weisman's own take on King Arthur's return in "Gargoyles" draws on the fear of secret societies - and if we ever get to see the "Pendragon" spin-off, maybe other modern concerns.

Todd> It's a fair point. I suppose I make a reasonable test case since I'm not American, and don't know who some of these politicans are anyway (e.g. Karl Rove).

SUPERMORFF - Sorry for not responding to your post last night, but thanks for the information.

I do wonder how long a book like that will last, once the politicians used as the models for the cast in it recede into "yesterday's news".
