Every episode on there is the correct version, uncut and with the fixed animation after the initial airings that Weisman and Paur called for, which all aired the second or third time at the latest.

Arlo: haven't watched all the eps yet, but the key one for me was Owen's transition to puck in "The Gathering p2". In the original edit he steps out of his spin early-stops for a second then zooms to the camera and announces who he is-but by then we already know-then the scene fades to black. In the later edit-the spin lasts longer and just as he announces himself-he zooms towards the camera-and the scene simply snaps to black(no fade out). They used the later one. Personally, I liked the early one-but I'd take copies of all the different edits(I think we all would if they'd give 'em to us.)

Given that there was that error on S2V1 with the wrong "Vows" ending on it, I would greatly appreciate it if someone would let me know if any of the episodes on S2V2 have errors. Not that it means I won't buy it, but I'd like to know everything before I do. I'm especially hoping they didn't use the first takes.

Both it and my initial Disney club order came as well-so I've got lots of watching to do. I agree with most of you on the cover art-they couldn't have skimped less on it without having a blank cover. Anyway, on the subject of mating practices, the point that I intended to make was that it was unlikely that everybody in the clan would be paired up. As Greg said, it is unsound to assume that everybody in any given clan is heterosexual, and when one takes homosexuality into account, it is even less likely that every gargoyle would have a mate within the clan.

Which makes me wonder how often gargoyles would look for, and find, mates outside of their own clan?

Another thought on mating competitions. Maybe during the events of M.I.A. Griff and Leo were in the process of competeing over Una. Not a typical competition due to the war, but one that Griff was winning before he vanished. Just think that part of the reason why he fought the Nazi's was to get a girl. And that Leo stayed behind thinking that protecting the shop would score him points. Only for him to win by default.

The Disney Movie Shop on eBay has a $2 markup that can be offset by buying a second DVD to get free shipping (which is about $4). It does not offer discounts for buying multiple items in a single order.

I bought 4 DVDs through the DMC in my first batch as someone in my group also wanted the Talespin release. The average price for each DVD in that order, between three items getting discounted and my own expenses reshipping everything, came out to just under $20 per DVD.

In fact, there are quite a few characters from Greek Mythology that do resemble Gargoyles. Harpies instantly spring to mind. Also some versions of Typhon. If the descendants of these creatures exist on New Olympus, would they be part of the Gargoyle Clan or would they be part of the general population?

Who says we haven't seen a gargoyle/third race hybrid? Some of the folks on New Olympus are strong contenders.

As for Iago, it always seemed to me that he had a sort of short circuit. Usually, gargoyles mate for life. I imagine that they bond at some point long before the female's first heat and that this bond is very strong. It goes beyond an emotional or romantic connection into a more primal, biological drive or need for each other. This makes the heats very intense as Lexington alluded to when he heard about the London Clan's enforced isolation.

For Iago, I think he bonded to Desdemona. Obviously, this bond was not returned and that is the problem. Because he has that bond to her, I tend to think that he did not have a mate. In his mind, his mate is Desdemona and gargoyles are monogamous. To take another mate would be breaking a deeply seated aspect of being a gargoyle.

So as interesting as an idea of Iago's mate would be, I suspect he didn't have a true one.

Yes I'm just making the assumption that if Iago was still carrying a torch for Desdemona in 993, when he pitted Goliath and Othello against each other, then he wouldn't have had a mate due to the fact that this was after the eggs were laid and if Iago had fathered an egg with someone he should have mated for life, but of coarse I could be completely wrong since Iago isn't the typical gargoyle anyway.
I also thought that at least one of the Avalon gargs would fall in love with a Child of Oberon. As of now there are two extra males, but it's not really fair to assume that every remaining female is mates with one of the males. Angela certain wasn't. Plus there is always the possibility of homosexual gargs on Avalon. Personally I would love to see a mixed Gargate/Third Race offspring at some point.

It finally arrived! I got my "hands off, this is mine!" copy as well as one to pass around between friends. Believe it or not, some of them have never seen it. Now all I need is the "Bad Guys" trade. I loved Gargoyles when it first aired, although I was too young to fully understand everything. My mom bought me the VHS with the board game, as well as a ton of the action figures. I bought the first dvd when it came out, but I never got around to picking up S2V1. I know, shame on me. When I heard that the rest of S2 would probably never be released, I just gave up. After the DMC news came out, though, I ordered S2V1 and both Clan-Building trades. I watched "City of Stone" for the first time a couple of weeks back, and you guys are right. Greatest thing to ever come out of Western tv animation. I can't wait until I get to "Hunter's Moon". Anway, it's just so awesome to finally have the full series the way it was meant to be seen, without any of the ridiculous edits.

Well, the Avalon Clan in 1996 had more males (17) than females (15 excluding Angela), so it's possible that the Wyvern Clan did too.

Assuming that all of them were heterosexual, at least a few of them would have been "odd man out."

I don't normally visit this community but I would like to buy the S2V2 DVD and cannot figure out HOW. I can't (and won't) pay $100 to buy 9 other movies I don't want just to get S2V2. I looked on ebay and did not see any seller named Disney Movie Shop, only other people selling it for $40 or more. $40 is way beyond what I can afford this year, but I get the impression this may not be available next year. (Also I have no ebay or paypal account.)

Is there any other way to get it? Where is this Disney Movie Shop? Does anyone still have extra copies they are selling and for how much?

Hunting would be my best guess as I'm not sure how they could quantify protecting the castle, unless it was attacked all the time. Maybe mock battles against the older gargs.
I'm also sure that Iago is an exception in that he didn't find a different mate after Desdemona chose Othello. If he did choose another he is an exception in that he continued to carry a torch for her.
However it would be interesting if Desdemona did choose Iago. Maybe with a little help from the Archmage. But his wicked nature showed through before they could mate and she did dumped him. Luckily for her Othello did not find another mate. Too bad "Dark Ages" was never made.

@Wolf - It's legit. There is no limit to the ordering, as the eBay store allowed me to order two copies (but I have yet to receive my 2nd copy which must be a mistake. I'm awaiting a response from the seller on this issue otherwise I'll get eBay involved to get my item or money back.) If you look at any of the other items in the store, they have multiple quantities so you can order as many as they have available.

@Battle Beast - I'd like a copy of the insert that you design. Do you plan on uploading it to the internet and providing a link to it? If so, then I can just print it at work.

Audra and Brainiac, we've been discussing this on Facebook as well... a number of us HAVE been able to order multiple copies from DMC. What we think is happening, is that there's a bot in place that keeps an eye on your purchases for a week or so, and if you try to reorder in that timeframe, it kicks your order out. We think it's a measure they've taken so people don't come in and buy them out and then scalp copies on eBay or Amazon. So now that it's been a week, try again.

I'll confirm this when my second set of three arrives.

I have one question regarding Young Justice Invasion that was never clearly answered throughout the series not from any YJ wiki website. Why would the Light bother keeping the original Roy Harper (aka Arsenal) on ice rather than destroy the source material as they did with other projects? It just seems like such a hassle and expense to do so. Plus, now that Arsenal is now empowered by a cybernetic arm, the Light has another enemy.

Hello, all! I'm just dropping by to share my excitement at the big anniversary news. My S2V2 dvd is already on the way (ordered it from eBay).

Every time I peek back in here it's always such a pleasure to see the same old faces still posting, still counting down every week. Goodness help me, even Jonny Modlin. This place hasn't changed a bit!

I haven't been quite as faithful myself, except maybe in spirit. This fandom will always hold a special place in my heart, and this comment room is the center of it all. It's a patient fandom, that's for sure, but it's great to get a little good news every decade or so to whet our appetites!

Of coarse I doubt the Manhattan Clan will have a typical courting season (at least not till after the 2198 generation.) Due to its small size, potential mates will probably come from other clans.

I'm a long time reader of Ask Greg, and a long time hardcore Gargoyles fan. I'm so excited to finally have S2V2, even though Disney was stupid enough to stack the DVDs on top of each other. I just read the super exciting news from Greg about the Gathering next year. I never attended a Gathering, but always wanted to. I'm going to really try to make it out to this Gathering next year.

By the way speaking of the stacked DVDs issue, does anyone have any leads on a good source to buy a proper DVD case to store these DVDs in?

I know Greg has said that Broadway and Angela were together as of "The Journey", but I am wondering if they were a couple during the events of "Hunters Moon"? I don't know if anyone else has asked this before, but there are a couple of things that happen in those episodes that leads me to believe they are together then. In "Hunter's Moon II", after Elisa saves Angela, Broadway is the first one by her side to help her up and when they go on patrol to look for the Hunters, Broadway and Angela patrol together. And in the third episode, after Elisa is believed dead, Broadway comforts Angela (although I could be wrong about that).

We don't really know much about Gargoyle "dating" practices. Do they date like Humans? Do they have boyfriend/girlfriend type relationships before being mated to someone else?

I too hope that Ebay offers more DVDs eventually. I have the link and will be checking it every now and then. I am planning to order Oliver and Company on blu-ray when it comes to the DMC, I think it is coming out August 6. I can try to order more copies of Gargoyles S2V2 with that order, despite what I was told on the phone. I guess I am just curious how they are going to handle that order. My last two orders that were erased had three copies Gargoyles S2V2, and nothing else. But I wonder what they will do if I have another movie in the same order. Will they delete that whole order, or just Gargoyles S2V2 and ship only Oliver and Company? Sorry to ask again, but with all the excitement with the news Greg posted, I think my post here got overlooked. :P (Don't get me wrong, it is exciting news about a Gargoyles Gathering at that con)

So, did anyone here who joined the DMC, were you able to order more then three copies of Gargoyles S2V2 in a separate order? I made my first order on June 25, got my three copies on a few days ago. I made another order of three copes on June 27, then another order of three copies on June 28. A few days later those orders were erased from my order list on my DMC account. I emailed them asking what happened to those orders and they said they couldn't assist me by email, that I would have to call them. So I finally was able to call today since today is a day off from work for me. They told me they canceled my orders because I am only allowed to order up to 3 copies ever of DMC exclusive DVD. :( I already sold off my two extra copies, but now I feel bad for the others I promised a copy to. I know it's not my fault, but I'm sorry it took me this long to find that out. Now I am going to have to email everyone who contacted me about a copy and tell them what happened. Sorry guys. :( I tried... I hope everyone can get a copy somehow.
