Jonny Modlin said "gotham" twice by accident. But I still think it's unusual. Sue me.

An edit button sure would help.
Green Lantern's Nightlight

Todd, exactly. They're were worried about the similarities between Gargoyles and Batman: TAS, then Disney mention Gotham two or three times.
Green Lantern's Nightlight

"Metropolis" you can get away with. Gotham is way more identifiable with Batman. The only way you wouldn't pay attention to the connection is if you were some stuffy theatre-loving aristocrat who doesn't own a television or a computer or anything. (Although they did do a musical of Spider-Man, bridging the gap a little.)

Blizzard always comes up with an elaborate hoax or two in honor of April Fool's Day, but I see that that video came out a few days before.

I must say that as a fan of both Gargoyles and World of Warcraft, I'm pretty stoked for World of Warcraft: Traveler.

You really would have to be a fool to live in modern Gotham City considering how many serial killers, crime lords and other psychopaths dwell there.

Let's also never re-release Fritz Lang's "Metropolis". Or at least re-title it. Maybe Osamu Tezuka shouldn't have made a 2001 animated film titled "Metropolis" either. How many people are going to hear that word and not think Superman?
Greg Bishansky

Sorry for the double-post, but Gotham goes all the way back to medieval England, where it was the name of a medieval village with the reputation of having the most foolish inhabitants in the country. (Though some accounts claim that the people of Gotham weren't really that foolish; they just pretended to be in order to discourage King John from building a hunting lodge nearby.)

Hufflepuffs are really good finders

And Greg Weisman mentioned how concerned the production team was that people might see "Gargoyles" as a rip-off of "Batman: TAS".

I just think the use of "Gotham" should just be avoided now. How many people are going to hear that word and not think Batman?
Green Lantern's Nightlight

Hmmm, you don't say?
Green Lantern's Nightlight

New York City's been nicknamed Gotham at least one hundred and twenty years before Batman was created.
Greg Bishansky

I don't know if it's because of Greg's doing or it's just the way it's set up, but could his links be made actually accessible as it would be much easier this way than having to type it out and avoid a mistake or having to copy and paste.

It's a suggestion, and not a criticism on anyone.

Another Gargoyles connection, Clancy Brown will be appearing in the upcoming _Warcraft_ movie.

Count me as another who's almost completely ignorant on "World of Warcraft" - but, yes, the book would be worth reading if by Greg.

I checked the back cover of my own "Gargoyles Season Two Volume Two" DVD and couldn't find the "guardians of Gotham" part. Maybe I've a different edition.

Hmm... this didn't post before. Strange.

Greg's a great writer so I'll be interested to see what he does with it. I don't know anything about WoW and it doesn't intrinsically interest me but, then again, nor did Star Wars or the DC universe particularly. It sounds like it should make sense to a newcomer.

And, as Masterdramon says, hopefully it will raise the profile of "Rain".

Incidentally, I just started watching S2V2 on DVD. I've had the DVD for... goodness knows how long (well, since it was released) but never actually got round to looking at it. It's got a bizarre back cover blurb ("Gotham's guardians"?!) and a focus on monsters (perhaps because the first episode was called "Monsters"?).

Still, the DVDs themselves have nice cover menus. And it's ironic that the first one in the collection should be "Monsters". This was the only episode I was unable to tape when the show aired originally.

As a result, while I've watched the other canon episodes so often that I know them inside out, I've only watched "Monsters" twice before. Watching it now was a real delight because, while I knew the gist of the story, there were whole scenes I had completely forgotten. Joyful.

I may know almost nothing about the world/lore of World of Warcraft, but I'll definitely be picking this book up all the same.

Because the success of another young adult fantasy novel penned by Greg Weisman can only mean good things for the chances at more Rain books, and I want those very, very, very badly.

Congrats on the gig, Greg!

Today is the day.

Todd> It may be none of those given the listing from Previews' online catalog: http://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/JAN161535 However, it's fairly typical to have a release date for the direct market of comic shops followed by a later one for online retailers like Amazon. If you've got a local shop to buy from, give 'em a call and see what they've got or can get.

In other news, Chris Jones put up a blog post about getting Greg back to CONvergence for the push of the last few days. http://blog.christopherjonesart.com/why-i-want-greg-weisman-at-convergence-2016-and-you-should-too/

Which is the correct day for the release of the first Gargoyles Cinestory adaptation? The GargWiki entry says March 30 (today), but the Amazon page Anthony Tini linked to says May 16.

@Anna - Nothing official has been announced regarding Season 3 of YJ. The best thing to do is to stream the episodes off of Netflix over and over again. Or buy the Blu-rays. Both could potentially get the attention of the powers that be and the decision could be made to revive the series.

Speaking of reviving series, GARGOYLES fans, get your wallets ready:

I've recently been watching Young Justice on Netflix and I would like to know if there are any updates on a season 3? I love this show so much and wish to see it continued

Obviously we need to donate more to the CONvergence funding drive and watch more YJ on Netflix and buy more copies of the Rain books so we can get more to talk about.

Also, only going to five prevents me from making cracks about being perfect at six, so I'm sure that's a plus.

FIVE (the new TEN in the 2010s?)

Todd: Managing to only accomplish the countdown/up and then going silent might more be a side-effect of those not wanting to interrupt the whole count-thing before conversing and/or not seeing much time to discuss things when the week is about to wipe. So maybe a shortened-version would spruce things up?

If you've ever taken a road trip through the Pacific northwest, you've probably seen a bumper sticker for a place called Gravity Falls. It's not on any maps, and most people have never heard of it. Some people think it's a myth. But if you're curious, don't wait. Find it. It's out there somewhere in the woods. Waiting.

Three.

I wonder if we should just count up to five, given how long these countdowns take nowadays - though I fear the room would still be all but silent once we'd completed the countdown.
