What a shame, he will be missed.

SEASON 3! WOO WOO!

That is sad. I didn't know enough of his work, but from what I saw, he was entertaining. I saw his name on the Twitter's trend list, but when I searched for this on Google it didn't have anything on his death.
Green Lantern's Nightlight

Unfortunate news...

If you ask Greg if the Team attended college then clearly you didn't watch season 2 at all.
Green Lantern's Nightlight

Yeah, and let Greg said it didn't occur to Macbeth that Demona would even keep using the Dominique Destine alias after she was outed.

A lot of fanfiction just ignore or took for granted the fact that our heroes are just know. I wanted to try something a little bit different

Greg Bishansky

I think it's all a case of distinguishing between what the characters know and what the audience knows.

Hufflepuffs are really good finders

Ed> Even so, why on earth would Elisa investigate Nightstone's CEO? There's literally never been any mention of the company in the presence of the clan. For what possible reason would she turn her attention to the company? It's literally never come up in any conversation ever. Heck, I see no reason that she would even know Demona's human alias is "Dominique Destine" given that she's never heard it spoken in any episode. Even "Sanctuary" she never heard Mac and D's conversation, she just recognized them because she'd seen them both before. She was never close enough to eavesdrop.

If you've ever taken a road trip through the Pacific northwest, you've probably seen a bumper sticker for a place called Gravity Falls. It's not on any maps, and most people have never heard of it. Some people think it's a myth. But if you're curious, don't wait. Find it. It's out there somewhere in the woods. Waiting.

ED> I think that's the sort of info they would discover on screen, and maybe soon after Clan Building, but I'm sure they'd find out.
Greg Bishansky - [Sorrows to the Stones]

Chip: Sure, but if my spouse's at-large serial killer ex was CEO of Starbucks, I figure that fact might come to my attention during my occasional police-enhanced Yahoo searches. I get the logic for why they don't know but even so I think we can assume the clan do discover information off-screen when it pertains to their interest (in the same way that Elisa found out more about Talon's whereabouts between "Metamorphosis" and "The Cage"). And this is something it strikes me as logical that they would discover very soon after "Clan-Building" if they don't already know through Xanatos.

Jurgan: Interesting article but I totally disagree with your example. The Doctor's a trickster, not a warrior. It was never in character for him to commit genocide and there were only two explanations: (a) he was driven to it by an impossible situation, or (b) it's a trick. (a) is an okay explanation but even in S1, RTD didn't commit to it (9 called himself "a coward every time" when he had a similar situation and in "End of Time", Tennant never pulled the trigger on his gun against a person despite all the posturing). When Moffat was revisiting it for the 50th (which I think was a huge mistake but I understand the pressure to centre it on this big mythology event), it would be wholly wrong to have the main character commit genocide -- he just wouldn't. He's not saying he couldn't write it because he didn't have the imagination -- he's saying he couldn't write it because it would be as wrong as having Goliath nuke Manhattan to stop Demona. He wouldn't. He just wouldn't. Even if everyone thinks he did. Even if he thinks he did. He never would have. And sure, Wyvern is the perfect backstory for Goliath -- a warrior. But it's not a good backstory for the Doctor -- a trickster. He tricked everyone and has found a way to save the day. That's who he is.

JON Winsil. Sorry.
Green Lantern's Nightlight

John Winsil's comment about putting emphasis on each of the Team's back story isn't true. We don't know a lot about Wonder Girl or Tim Drake. Coincidentally, they both got together at the end of "Endgame".

Jurgan, if you were trying to directly copy the text from that tumblr post, those are the "fancier" quotation marks/apostrophes. They're non-standard characters over here and blank everything when you either preview or post (another good reason to use the Preview Your Comment function just to be sure everything's functioning properly). I bet if you went through the post and replaced each quotation mark/apostrophe with the more standard style (" and '), the text would have posted just fine.

GLN, Algernon's response is pretty much dead-on...because it's personally enjoyable. I tend not to myself, but I certainly understand the enjoyment others get out of both the writing and the reading of fanfic. Arguably, it also scratches the itch for new stories that we're just not getting right now.

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

Read it and reblogged it. Good stuff
Greg Bishansky - [Sorrows to the Stones]

So I wrote a Gargoyles-related essay that I wanted to share, but for some reasons the comment room won't let me post long blocks of text. My posts keep coming up blank. I can't explain it. Well, I'll try posting a link instead.

Consequences of Time Travel: Why Greg Weisman is a Better Writer than Steven Moffat

GNL> Fanfic writing and reading is a hobby like any other. There is no real "point" to it other than the enjoyment one gets out of it.

Greg Weisman once famously said no one should become a professional writer if they can be happy doing absolutely anything else for a living. I'm personally quite content with making my daily bread by more conventional means, so I write recreationaly.

Big Hero 6.

What's to gain from reading fanfics? Especially between the time that Greg left the show then SLG resumed it for him to write again. What's the appeal to writing something continuing from what Greg has done other than doing your own reboot of it?

Green Lantern's Nightlight

All the mentions of Nightstne Unlimited in the series took place in scenes where Elisa and the gargoyles weren't present (such as the scene between Demona and Thailog in "Sanctuary" where they establish the organization). So they'd have no reason to look upon it as anything other than just another company.

Hufflepuffs are really good finders

ED> Right now, without Googling, name the CEO of Starbucks.

Can't do it? Did you even care before I asked it?

That's why Elisa doesn't know. She literally has no reason to even look up who owns the company.

Greg: Interesting. My thinking was that, CEOs being publicly identifiable figures, any cursory investigation by Elisa in the months since their return would have turned up the name. Thailog's alias is even less opaque than Demona's and I struggle to believe Xanatos, who has more business knowing major rival CEOs, doesn't know exactly who he's dealing with, though probably he has no reason to share this with the clan at this junction. Then again, it is '96. Not like they could put the names on Google Alert yet. Very interesting.

I seem to be unable to post more than a couple sentences right now. Does anyone know why?
