Hey, Adora

Thanks, Chip.

Todd>>In response to your review on Cycles(I always feel awkward responding here, but I’ve no other way to reply): Echo Nothing, Bridget IS using the actual Hand of Nuada. See Dr. Algae’s fics for details.

As for who Mandy is; she’s a human employee of Into The Mystic who is aware of who her employers are. She was hired sometime after MIA, but I haven’t gotten into much detail on the circumstances yet, because of the bigger fish to fry.

Yeah X-Men Origins, that didn't work out too well.
Anyway while the character swap of character styles was interesting the narrative itself kinda bent itself backward to justify Wolverine being the leader even with other characters like Storm and Emma Frost being present.

Matthew. I get that about Wolverine. The show just happened to come out the same year as X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I like Wolverine and the X-Men because of the swap of Wolverine and Cyclops. Wolverine becomes the "responsible" leader and Cyclops is cast as the loner with attitude problems.

But, whenever the MCU gets around to brining in the X-Men, I hope they focus on characters we haven't seen before. The X-Men franchise is rich in characters and the movies only scratched the surface of those characters.

All Lucky Sevens!

(appropriate given the official announcement of Tifa for Dissidia NT yesterday)

I'm also all for Greg writing for the X-folks.

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

I would love for Greg to tackle the X-Men, not just because I'd love for him to have another crack at Marvel but because I think he'd do a good job with that branch of the Marvel Universe.
One thing I love about Young Justice is his willingness to take lesser-known, obscure or characters that rarely got the chance to shine to the forefront and write compelling stories around them. And not just have everything revolve around the "holy trinity."

With the X-Men I'd like to think Greg wouldn't just focus on a select few, or solely on Wolverine. Because as much as I may like these characters I personally can't stand the Wolverine Publicity trope. Which is why I wasn't a fan of Wolverine and the X-Men (I just called it the Wolverine Show).

BISHANSKY - Wow. that definitely sounds worth seeing - especially the bit about his becoming Marduk (in other words, one of his past identities was an actual god, rather than just a historical figure).
Todd Jensen

TODD> I hope you get a chance to see season three should that ever get a DVD release... there's one episode focusing on Vandal Savage that I know you'll really appreciate. It incorporates history, myth, legend... Vandal was Genghis Khan, he was Sun Tzu, and before that he was Marduk. Yes, that Marduk.

One good thing if Greg gets put in charge of a Marvel-based series like the X-Men (or any comic-based series); based on his past work, I'd say he's good at giving you a sense of what's going on and who the characters are even if you're not familiar with the property.

Take "Young Justice", for example. I'm not that familiar with DC Comics, and a lot of the cast was entirely new to me, but I quickly got a sense, when I watched the first two seasons on DVD, of who they were, their nature, their goals, etc. It's been the same with any other projects of his I've seen that were based on such a pre-existing property. (His "Magic: the Gathering" novel is possibly the one exception, and that seems due to it being a continuation of a pre-existing story which had already taken many dramatic turns before the first page.)

So if Greg does get put in charge of an "X-Men" series, I'm certain that it would be easy to follow, even if you're new to the X-Men.

Yes! Wolverine and the X-Men is great too!
I don't know what plans Disney has install for X-Men (as well as Fantastic Four) but I hope the team does not depend too much on the Avengers.

Ophelia

My brother and I saw Dark Phoenix on last Friday. Not great, but better than I thought it would be. Got me in an X-Men mode, so I watched Wolverine and the X-Men. Can't believe it has been 10 years since an X-Men series was on. I grew up with the X-Men cartoon in the 90's and watched X-Men Evolution (next on my list to watch). I thought all three series (X-Men, Evolution, and Wolverine) were good, but each had a different flavor to them, which made them unique.

Would love for Marvel to give Greg a shot at an X-Men series.

Adam

I'm guessing we won't see another X-toon until Disney needs something to tie into the inevitable MCU movie.

Well now that the X-Men is owned by Disney there could be a new animated series in the works.
Though considering the state of Marvel's animation, I'm not really hopeful it will be good.

Been rewatching X-Men Evolution (can't believe how I forgot how much I love X-Men) and I couldn't help but think Greg doing something similar to that show with an "Young Justice" inspired take.
I can only wish and hope.

Ophelia

And now the binge watch in preparation of season 3 of both Young Justice and Stranger Things.
