Lexington and Alex question.

1. What started the friendship between them?

2. Will Lex be helping Alex out with any other magic lessons?

THANKS

Greg responds...

1. Possession. Then Proximity & Temperament.
2. Probably already has.

Greg-
If you are in the mood to talk about Lex's mate, I have a few questions;
a. What is her name(or does she have one)?
b.What clan is she from?
c.How old is she(chronologically and biologically)?
d.Is she a gargoyle(this might sound stupid)?
Thank you for your time.

Greg responds...

a. "She" doesn't have a name.

b. "She" doesn't have a clan.

c. "She" is ageless.

d. "She" is speciesless.

That was fun.

LEX is cool writes...

first I would like to compliment you on a great job. you have created a truly phanominal show.(sorry can't spell)
I watch it all the time.

Well, I got a few question about Lex (with him being my favorite character and all).

1.) Is Lex's mate going to have the same type of wings as Lex? Somehow I cant imagine haveing Lex's mate have the typical type of wings most other Gargoyles have. They seem much taller and id really like to see another gargoyle with that unique type of wings

2. Id also like to know how you think Lex feels, being the smallest and supposedly the weakest of the others. does he feel less efficent as a fighter or something.

3.) does Lexs hatred limit his amility in battle or improve it in anyway(fighting with rage and such)

4.) last question(sorry if i ask to many questions im just curious)when and where will Lexs mate be introduced will you tell us eventully? or in a gargoyle series(if it starts back up again)? I know you probably dont want to answer this yet just seeing what info I can get on my favorite charactor.

BTW thanx for your time I appreciate it

PS: keep trying Lexy I want to know his mate as much as you do Hehe (i learned a lot from your posts.=)

Greg responds...

1. I'm not answering this.

2. He's a fairly effective fighter, using his size and speed to his advantage. I've never noticed any kind of complex.

3. I think that he's generally been less effective against the Pack, because he lets his rage get the better of him.

4. I can't intro Lex's mate without a professional story-telling medium to intro Lex's mate. I'm still working on finding that medium. I haven't given up.

Well, I am I guess. But I'm not. So who's to say?

*peeks in* Hope you had fun in Europe Greg:)

1)Do you already have a name picked out for Lexington's mate?

2) If so, what is the name, that you have picked out thus far, for Lexington's mate.

Greg responds...

I did have a great time in Scotland. (Although I'm guessing you're referring to my Denmark trip in 2002, which was also fun.)

1. Yes.
2. Not telling.

1. in Leader of the Pack when the clan learns from Elisa that the Pack escaped from prison Lex wants to head off to PMS cuz he thinks they'll return there like "snakes to a nest", Goliath and Elisa try to stop him and then Brooklyn says he'll go with Lex to PMS to check it out. what gives Brooklyn the authority to just run off with Lex like that, hes not yet Second and he never asks Goliath or anyone if they can go?

2. what does "snakes to a nest" mean anyway? from what i know of snakes, they all abandon their eggs completly or stay with their eggs until they hatch.

Greg responds...

1. Look, these guys have been working together for awhile. Brooklyn makes the offer (whether he phrases it that way or not), and Goliath tacitly accepts. What's going on here, primarily, is that everyone is aware that Lex is out of control. Elisa (and thus Goliath and Brooklyn and everyone) don't believe that the Studio is a likely place for the Pack to go to. So Brooklyn goes along to keep Lex out of trouble at a theoretically harmless location.

2. Ask the writer. I was just the producer.

in 1996, is Lex and his clone the only gargoyles in the world with their particular wing structure?

if not, what other clans have members with wings like that? Avalon?

Greg responds...

No.

Again, I'm not going to answer this so as not to some day limit the artists I work with.

KW Sapphire asked how much Demona could bench. Well, I already know how much Lex can bench:

(this is a few years old, but I believe Thom's character was complaining that the name "Jumbo Jack" was biased against short people. You may have to actually live in a state that has the "Jack in the Box" chain to understand this commercial).

Oh, and I only have Day 1 up now, but eventually I'll have my Gathering report up here: http://crossroads.dragonmists.org/fantasy/avalon/gathering/g2k1_1.html

At some point at the Gathering, I overheard you telling some lucky fan or fans when Brooklyn learned to read. I was dashing off somewhere, probably trying to chase down Kanthara again (whom I finally caught on Monday-- Hi Kanth!), and I didn't get to eavesdrop on the whole thing. It sounded fascinating, and like part of a larger question about which gargs learned to read when. I sure wish I knew the answer, and I'd bet money that your other faithful readers want to know too. So...

We know when Hudson and Braodway learned to read-- they started right after "Lighthouse on the Sea of Time." When did the other members of the Manhattan clan learn to read?

Thatnk you for your time and I hope everybody pre-registers for the Gathering 2002-- I did!

Greg responds...

Thank you, Mary. I believe Brooklyn learned to read shortly after awakening in the twentieth century. I believe Goliath learned from Demona in the tenth century. I believe Demona learned from the Archmage. I believe Lex learned in the tenth century too. Angela was taught by the Magus.

(Lots of fun tidbits always get revealed at the Gathering.)

Okay, this might sound dumb, but here we go. Is Lexington gay? I'm asking because out of the trio he seemed the least interested in Angela, he's always spending time with Alex, and he is thin, neat and single. And like the entire show (I feel, to some extend) is about tolerance. And are have a large showcase of ethnically diverse characters, so why not sexually diverse? Anyways it's just a thought. P.S. You have made like the GREATEST TV show EVER!!!!!

Greg responds...

I'm not answering this at this time.

But thanks.

Greg;
I was reading your MEMO about "The Silver Falcon." fro the archives...

I got to thinking... This type of epidode wouldn't have worked with Brooklyn or even Lexington... these type of characters almost need to have other gargoyles around. You couldn't ahve a hole epidose of only Brooklyn or only Lexington. Lexington and brooklyn don't have human connections like Broadway. He shot Elisa. This brought them a bit closer than the others.
Do you agree or dissagree?

Greg responds...

I agree that Broadway shooting Elisa brought the two of them closer together. (Though they were already close.)

But otherwise, I disagree. Either Brooklyn or Lex could carry an episode on their own. I think we more or less proved that with Temptation and Thrill of the Hunt.

I know other characters were involved. But Lex and Brooklyn each carried those shows.

Dear Greg,

Hi! I'm a long time fan of _Gargoyles_, but it's been a *looooong* time since I've asked a question here. But looking at some not-so-old answers I just have to ask a couple. I hope this has not been directly asked yet, as it seems to have been skirted.

1) You have mentioned on several occasions that Lexington would have a mate, but have been sketchy on the question of children. This on top of the fact that you answered questions about Brooklin's mate and biological children. This leads me to simply have to ask and I am prepared to take a smart-ass answer if I am *WAAAAAAAAY* in left field here...

Was Lexington going to have a girlfriend?

2) How was Lex going to meet his mate anyway? Just curious there! ^.^

Sincerely,

Greg responds...

There are some secrets I still want to keep or skirt or whatever.

does the Manhatten clan have internet access? if so, or if they use Elisa's computer or whatever, have they met and made any friends on the internet, you know, in chat rooms and stuff? obviously, Lex seems the most likely to have made friends, just curious...

Greg responds...

Yes, they do. And Lex has surfed the net. But his experience with the Pack makes him a bit hesitant to make friends. He lurks more often than not. Maybe he's lurking now.

Lex before. Brooklyn immediately after. At least in my mind.

warrioress's question reminded me of one i've been meaning to ask, i read somewhere that because of his smaller profile Lex and other gargoyles with similar wings can actually glide faster... any truth to this? i guess they should get an advantage cuz they can't really use their hands when gliding...

Greg responds...

Don't know.

another thing about Lex flying a helicopter... he'd only been in the modern world with modern technology for a couple months and even with the video game, he's flying a complex aircraft after one night! thats what i call a stretch... i've lived among modern technology most of my life and i've played plenty of flight simulator games and if you put me into an even simple plane or helicopter i wouldn't be able to fly it! and even if i was allowed to fiddle around with the controls for a couple days, i'd be lucky if i could fly it, my point is, was Lex's sudden skill with the helicopter another result of Kenner wanting to make a toy helicopter?

Greg responds...

Largely.

just watched "Possesions", one of my favirote eps by the way, anyway, i thought of a few questions...

1. ok, is it me, or does Lex hate Coldstone? the whole clan doesn't like Iago, but Lexington seems to hate Coldstone in general... in "Legion" he trys to convince Goliath not to invite Coldstone into the clan, or back to the clocktower and that was before they knew about the other souls in Coldstone, in "High Noon" he warns Goliath about freeing Coldstone, this time his concern was justified, but in "Possesions" Lex really seems to hate Coldstone, when Coldstone first arrives Lex screams his astonishment at Coldstone being brought to the clocktower by "Goliath" and "Hudson", then he seems to be the most skeptical about "Goliath's" plan, and then he is the only one not to volunteer for the soul transference. so, am i right? does Lex have a major problem with Coldstone? is it jealousy, i mean, does Lex wish he was as integrated with technology as Coldstone is? "Future Tense" comes to mind...

2. why does Puck keep trying to make Xanatos look evil to the gargs? in "Future Tense" his illusion of Xanatos is pretty nasty, and in "Possesions" Puck goes on about how Xanatos is about to unleash new robots and he is not sincere about oweing Goliath for helping to save his son, obviously Puck doesn't believe these things, but why try to make the gargs believe it?

3. any reason that Iago/Coldsteel didn't have a tail (either in cyberspace or as a robot) in "Possesions", but did have one in "Legion" and "High Noon"?

sorry for the lengthy questions...

Greg responds...

1. No. I don't think so. I just think he's very aware of Coldstone's potential danger to the clan.

2. He's simply playing to Goliath's weaknesses.

3. I never noticed that. Are you sure?
