Hope you had a good b-day!

I’m just writing to let you know how much I’ve been enjoying the Demona mini-series. As someone who was already a fan of Clark Ashton Smith, I particularly enjoyed #3’s story “For not Everything with Wings…” I think it’s one of the best reimaginings of Smith’s work I’ve ever seen.

1) Were you previously familiar with Smith’s work or was this something Frank and/or Nate brought to your attention while working on the mini?

2) If the former, was naming Nokkar’s species the N’kai intended as a nod to the dwelling place of Smith’s Hyperborean toad-god Tsathoggua?
