You're assuming Wally's in the loop. He's not. Obviously, the destruction of an entire mountain in Rhode Island made the news, so Wally showed up to find out what the hell was going on! But he's not receiving a daily briefing. His job in this is to go about his life, as if he's mourning his dead girlfriend. Not, literally, running around, fighting crime.

Nightwing did not invite Kid Flash to participate until the briefing that took place just before "Summit". Obviously, as soon as Nightwing called, Wally was there.

Besides, I don't see Wally moping around on the show, saying some equivalent of "Sympathize with me! Why aren't any of you sympathizing with me?!" So I'm not sure where all this attitude towards him is coming from.

Can I just say, you sound really judgmental. I'm not sure you mean to, and I'll grant that the internet both encourages this and makes tone hard to truly decipher. But that's definitely how you come across to me. I would hope our series generates a more nuanced response.

Response from a fan:

… except that it doesn't?

His hometown was nuked.

The Earth got a second moon. Blue Beetle was on the news fraternizing with the enemy. Even if it was an under-cover operation, Wally has pretty darn strong opinions how effective those are!

He "wasn't happy" with this from the beginning. "He shouldn't need you."

Dick blew up a mountain. He had the opportunity to ask to be let into the mission, and he didn't take it.

How does "you delivered my girlfriend into the hands of someone I suddenly assume is a traitor" count as not complaining?

He is leaving her in the hands of someone he doesn't trust and doesn't even OFFER to help, even at a tactical level.

I should "kill you for putting us through this"? Of course he's not actually going to kill her, but how is that not complaining??

All of those sentences are talking about the world as something that HAPPENS to him, that other people are DOING to him, like he has no ability to contribute himself.

Before this all happened, all he wanted was to go to school and keep his girlfriend safe. This, of course, doesn't make him a monster.

After an alien invasion and again, I reiterate, the nuking of his hometown, he wants exactly - exactly - the same thing. He didn't even change in the middle of that and then go back.

If he was so eager to be there "as soon as Nightwing called" then why did he put up a fuss when Artemis was called?

I'm sorry but that smacks of a double standard.

What kind of real person doesn't change after that?

What kind of real person - particularly those who have the skills to do so - doesn't want to help?

Is he really that self-absorbed? Does he really only care about one thing worth mentioning in the show?

Real people care about more than one thing.

Real people are changed by global scale events in the world around him.

With all due respect - and I mean that I have an enormous amount of respect for Greg, Grandon, and this show - I'll be more nuanced in my reaction when Wally is more nuanced in his characterization.

Greg responds...

You don't know whether he offered to help or not.

And you're reading a ton into a little bit of grousing here and there.

And he didn't "put up a fuss" when Artemis was called. But he's allowed to be unhappy about it, isn't he? And to express that?

I think you're not being at all nuanced in your interpretation, and I believe Wally's responses are way more nuanced than you're acknowledging.

And if you had waited one more week you would have seen what Wally's commitment to heroism was.

But I'm tired of arguing this point. I don't think either of us are changing the other's mind. So we'll just have to agree to disagree.

I've got a question about Plastic Man after the Players arc.

After Metropolis was returned to its normal size, he grew with it, to 120% (or 125%, math has never been my strong suit). He claims he doesn't mind because he's adjustable. But did the process have any effects on him in the long term? I'm asking, because in the few shots we've had of him in season two, he's always strecthed in some way, and never in his "normal" form and size.

Greg responds...

That's just Plas. He's fine.

Were Dick Grayson, Wally West, Garth and Donna Troy ever all on the Team at the same time? (I'd imagine so since Wally and Garth didn't leave until Team Year Five, but for all we know, Dick went off travelling for a while, so I just wanted to be sure.)

Greg responds...

Yes.

Does Zatanna perform as a stage magician? I ask because, like in the original comics where she has been a stage magician, her Earth-16 costume makes her look like one.

Occasionally.

In Bart's original timeline where Barry dies, does Wally assume the role of the Flash? Or does he decide to stay in retirement? Not sure how detailed this storyline is, but it would be great to know more about Wally from this time.

Hello greg,

Two words to say about young justice episode summit:Intense & Incredible!! However, words cannot do justice on how good that episode really is!! Summit was full of surprises!!

Although, i have a few questions as well:

How did the light know about the reach and the scarab?

When did the light became aware of the meta-gene? Cause that's what their goal is about; evolving.

Why did the reach abduct young people?

Plus, i loved how you brought diversity to spectacular spiderman! :).

Also, i hope you, brandon and team can comeback to young justice!! I fully support the 5 year gap, its about growing up, its so realistic. Dc comics should do a comic based on the earth-16 you created!! You successfully reinvented the superheroes by combing old elements from the comics along with new elements and original ideas!! I salute you for that!!

Greg responds...

In the future, please number your questions.

1. They have various alliances.

2. Some time ago.

3. To experiment on them. (This was STATED in the series.)

4. Um, thanks.

5. And thanks again!

Hi Greg :)
Hey, now that you let out that Donna Troy was once part of the team, my brother was excited to know that she was part of the team by the way XD I hope you can answer this cuestions :/

1. How old is Donna Troy in the year 2016? Or when she died? (if she is dead that is)
2. You may not know how to answer this or maybe it can be a spoiler request but: What happened to her that she was never mentioned in the show?
3. I doubt this but: Is Donna part of the League now?
4. Theres the leaguers 27 and 28 that are anknown yet. Were they suppose to be introduced in season 3?

I hope this aren't spoilers (though I think some definitelly can be) or questions to hard for you to answer!!

Greg responds...

1. SPOILER REQUEST.

1a. HUGE SPOILER REQUEST.

2. SPOILER REQUEST in universe. Out of universe: ASKED AND ANSWERED.

3. No.

Hey Greg I,m a big fan, this is the first time asking you a questions, I try asking you before but I think for some reason my questions did,nt post, or at least I think it did,nt post, I did,nt find the question or a answer, well here are my questions,
1. You once said that the team does not know that Miss Martian abuses her powers, well in episode Cornered were Bumblebee pleads with M'gann to try a mental attack on Despero, did she know she would brain blasted Despero?
2. I was wondering does Martian Manhunter know Miss Martian abuses her powers?
3. In episode Alienated Batman and Martian Manhunter saw Miss Martian Miss Martian forcibly extracted the Kroloteans' evacuation point from his mind, did they approve or disapprove?

Greg responds...

1. It depends on how you define "brain blast".

2. Not definitively, no.

3. They 'saw' no such thing. You saw it because you had context.

Greg, thanks so much for revealing the unknown Team designations in the World's Finest interview! A lot of us were going nuts over who was who, lol. I have a few questions about those designations, if that's ok:

1) Is it correct that Guardian is B-24 and Arsenal is B-25? Some of us figured that Arsenal joined first since he took up that codename three episodes before Mal became Guardian, so I just wanted to be sure.

2a) Is Lieutenant Marvel's true identity Mary Bromfield?

2b) Is Sergeant Marvel's true identity Freddy Freeman?

3) Did Donna Troy wear the black costume from the comics when she was on the Team as Troia?

4) Did Phil Bourassa design YJ versions of Troia, Lieutenant Marvel or Sergeant Marvel?

5) Were Donna Troy and Mary Bromfield originally meant to be at the bridal shower in "Satisfaction"?

Thanks for your time. I've enjoyed YJ a lot and I'm hoping that you'll get the chance to continue the story somehow.

Greg responds...

1. There was nothing incorrect in the interview.

2a. No.

2b. No.

3. Costume was never designed, so I don't know. It would have been a discussion between myself, Brandon Vietti and Phil Bourassa.

4. No. We ran out of available man-hours.

5. Yes.

1) Did you have any unused story arcs for the tie-in comic that involved the Justice Society of America or the All-Star Squadron?

2) On May 5th, 2012, you revealed there was at least 7 major characters that the staff wanted to add to Season 2 but there just wasn't any room for them and they were saved for the comic book and/or a potential Season 3. Did any of these 7 appear between Issue #16 Common Denominators and Issue #25 Players Part 6?

3) If the answer to 2) is yes, who were they?

4) On July 18, 2012, you hinted a Wildstorm character was included in a 'stealth way.' Was this in Young Justice season one or in season two?

5) Young Justice had 179 name characters in season one and 145 in season two. Could you please post this list of name characters in a series of Ask Greg rambles (for example 1-50 in one post, 51-100 in a second post and so on)?

Greg responds...

1. I have unused stories for just about everything.

2. Can you link me to that 'reveal'? Was I saying seven total or seven in addition to what you saw? Do you have candidates from those issues of the comic or are you just trying to get answers without having to read them? Three of the characters we had wanted to include but could not - and which I've already revealed - were Troia, Lieutenant Marvel and Sergeant Marvel.

3. I don't think the answer is yes. But my memory isn't what it used to be.

4. One.

5. Maybe, if the mood strikes. It doesn't at this moment.

Hey Greg, congratulations on an excellent two seasons. Hopefully there's more to come. Here are a few questions I've been pondering:

1) Can Black Manta breathe underwater without his armor and helmet? Is he Atlantean?
2) During season one it seemed Artemis relied heavily on her bow even though she was good hand to hand; in season two it seems she is extremely adept hand to hand. Does most of her skills as Tigress come from training with her father? Or training with Black Canary? Or both? Maybe she was training during her time retired? I guess what I'm really asking is if she always this skilled at fighting even in season one and we just didn't really see it?
3) Will we ever find out what happened to poor disgraced Ocean Master/Aquaman's child/Tula? Is there a connection?

Thanks for the time!

Greg responds...

1. No.

1a. No.

2. Her father's training acts as her base, but back in the day when he was training her, her size made his hand-to-hand training less effective. Canary's training enhanced Crusher's and leaned more toward what she could do in hand-to-hand DESPITE her size. I think she was a skilled fighter when we met her. I think in Season Two, she's MORE skilled.

3. Ever? I hope so.

1. When Black Lightning generates electricity why is it that the lightning is sometimes black when other times it is blue?
2. Does Sportsmaster have superhuman attributes or is he just incredibly fit for someone his age?
3. How many Lords/Ladies of Order and Chaos are there on Earth 16?
4. What are the different functions of Robin's circular Birdarangs and the ones that are similar in appearance to Batarangs?
5. Do Black Manta's missile launchers have different functions when they are on different shoulders?

Greg responds...

1. It's blue-black in color - with a yellow rimlight - so it depends on the ambient lighting of the scene.

2. The latter.

3. SPOILER REQUEST. NO COMMENT.

4. They have much in common, actually. But obviously batarangs are larger and have more mass, so are capable of a greater impact. In addition, some birdarangs have explosive and other capabilities.

5. Um... I'm gonna say no. For now, at least.

Hey Greg. Adore your shows to an insane degrees! Got questions regarding my man Superboy
1. Since he doesn't age physically but internally, mentally is superboy still 16 as originally programmed or does he consider himself 22?
2. Since wondergirl was introduced late, and it would be kind of creepy for him to date her like in the comic books, what's their relationship like?3. Did superman finding out about connors other father, Lex, present a setback to their growing relationship? Or make it even more awkward?
4. Do the gloves have enhancing qualities( tech, comunication output, forged from something harder than kryptonian skin) or just look cool?
Much thanks. Pretty sure a good chunk of these fall under spoilers but thanks for just presenting the opportunity to ask. If Invasion is our last hurrah than can't wait for the next universe you take us to. Thankyou

Greg responds...

1. I don't think he's very clear in his own head how old he is or is supposed to be. He thinks of himself as six, most of the time, because, well, he is. But he also thinks of himself as an adult. And he thinks of himself, still, as not fully... "realized".

2. What you see is what you get - at least until we have the chance to make more.

3. I think it was a momentary speedbump, but I also think that once Clark made the decision to be Conner's brother, it was fairly smooth sailing.

4. Probably just the latter.

Next universe seems to be STAR WARS REBELS. But Invasion's not YJ's last hurrah. Check out Young Justice Legacy this November.
