Mr. Weisman,

I know you've implied Traci is still LGBT+ in the show, but it's a bit disheartening to see a character who has canonically been a lesbian in the comics for years dating a guy with no mention of her sexuality. I still appreciate your dedication to portraying LGBT+ and particularly bi characters, though, and was very glad to see Harper and Violet get together. Are there any characters in the show that are lesbians or otherwise LGBT+ (besides Ed and [redacted character you haven't been allowed to make canon] that you can discuss? I think I may be getting ahead of myself, but I suspect that when Kara sees Kal-El and Jonny Kent, I think that she will assume that the former is her uncle, Jor-El, and that the latter is her cousin, Kal-El; assuming she has already seen Kal-El as an infant prior to Krypton's destuction. I don't know what she'll think about Kon-El if she sees him, but I hope that she does not have a hatred for clones like her New 52 counterpart...

A lot of the bad things ppl say about YJ is so strange. I wouldn't be surprise if one person say they don't like the show because, idk, dick walks strangely (Just an example).

2) LOVED the fact that the ice guy went to the wedding and that you voiced that guy who marries them.

3) did dick grayson became nightwing as a teenager(since jason is robin in Team Year 3) or he had a normal life for a time and then he became nightwing?

4) in the reach apocalypse, how did bart know who the heroes were? (Their names). They formed a rebellion? If u could tell more about that timeline, pleaseeee say it. Probably i'll get a no spoilers, but still.

5) are there lgbt ppl in spectacular spider-man?

6) do u plan more than one big big story? - the darkseid one and another i mean.

Sorry for any mistake. And if you could skip at least 1000 years in the next season, it'd be nice :)

Mr. Weisman,

1. It was stated that Kara Zor-El was sent into Phantom Zone alone decades ago. Based on this statement, it sounds like that event took place prior to Kyrpton's destruction, and I strongly suspect that it was her parents' idea in order to save her. However, the one thing that confuses me is that if Zor-El and Alura-EL intended to sent Kara away, why put her in the Phantom Zone; as opposed putting her on her own ship and have it follow Kal-El's ship like in the comics (even though we would know she would have been delayed by decades due to unfortunate circumstances)?

2. It was stated that Kara Zor-El, like Mary Bromfield, was betrayed, but how is that possible? With Mary, I can understand because that's how she felt when Zatanna excluded her from the Doctor Fate rotation plan. With Kara, however, we've seen no evidence to suggest she suffered some kind of betrayal. Unless, perhaps, she met General Dru-Zod at some point and he told her lies about what her family, or maybe she suffered from Phantom Zone sickness during her time there...?

I have to ask about Nightwing surviving the season 4 finale of Young Justice , because frankly I just find it all so hard to believe?

It just felt so unrealistic; first by willingly cutting himself to fake his death injury (as if anyone wouldn’t at least bleed after being thrown into a statue and then have the thing fall on top of you), and then slowing down his own heartbeat to a stop. No one can slow their heartbeat down to a full-stop, and it’s not as if someone with super-hearing couldn’t tell whether someone was really dead.

I'm sorry, but even now I'm still expecting Nightwing to turn around and suddenly reveal that he's either a ghost, an imposter or some other big shocker.

I was surprised at the ending, too. When they introduced Darkseid’s new furies, I was expecting them to be the Legionaires, as I thought Brainiac was an imposter who was sent to get them. Personally, I thought they should be killed, as it makes the future more interesting when you don’t know what’s coming. Granted, we were told the future was only about 99.84% corrected, so we don’t know what’s changed, but we know it must be good because of Brainiac’s presence…etc.

Mr. Weisman,

I have to be honest with you here; you gave me quite a scare in regards to Nightwing's head injury. The reason I say this is because I was afraid that Nightwing was going to end up becoming amnesiac and become Ric Grayson; which happened in the comics. Let me say now that I am one of (presumably) many people who hated the whole Ric Grayson storyline in the comics because he went through all kinds of hell before he finally got his memory back. When it was revealed that he faked his own head injury and still retained his memory in the Season 4 finale, I was relieved and happy that he was all right. As such, I wanted to thank you so much for NOT turning Dick Grayson into Ric Grayson.

Mr. Weisman,

Here is my second set of interview-style questions centering around Mary Bromfield after seeing the Season 4 post-credits scene. Just like with the previous set of questions for Kara Zor-El, please answer them as detailed as possible.

#1. Let’s start off with the opening question: What was the idea of having Mary Bromfield have a power addiction problem in Season 4? I clearly don’t remember this ever happening in the comics; unless I overlooked some specific reading material?

#2. Anyone who has read “Final Crisis” would have likely/easily figured out Mary’s turn to villainy based on what happened in the post-credits scene in the mid-season 4 finale. Her costume while as a member of the Female Furies is based somewhat on her Black Mary appearance from the comics. What was the decision behind these changes; in comparison to what we know from the comics (in which her attire was more Apokoliptian and also having pink hair during the events of “Final Crisis”)?

#3. In a post-credits scene for one of the Season 4 episodes (“Beyond the Grip of the Gods!”), Mary was being considered as a potential candidate for the Justice League Reserves. However, the problem here is that none of the heroes at this point in time knows that she is now a villain. As such, do you believe that she might just play along and join the Justice League Reserves and then surprise everyone with a massive heart-breaking betrayal later, or do you believe that Mary will likely NOT be the type of person who would willingly play a game of deception and would instead prefer getting straight to the point and go full-on villain right from the start? Which scenario, in your honest opinion, seems more plausible?

#4. As we both know, Mary’s turn to villainy is essentially Zatanna’s fault. As such, in your honest opinion, what can we potentially expect from everyone’s reactions once the truth eventually comes out; especially in regards to the lengths that Zatanna went through in order to get her father back (since, considering what I’ve read on the internet, this makes Zatanna more manipulative than Batman)? Furthermore, Mary’s turn to villainy will undoubtedly affect Billy Baston, who considers Mary to be one of his best friends and she is also his sister. As such, once Billy eventually learns the truth about Mary, how badly do you think this will damage their relationship; even if he somehow gets personally involved and manages to save her at some point in Season 5 (since Freddy Freeman DID save Mary during “Final Crisis” in the comics)?

#5. Going into Season 5, is it safe to correctly assume that part of Mary’s story arc may likely/potentially involve her attempting to get revenge on Zatanna for being excluded from the Doctor Fate rotation plan? Would Mary even potentially dare to go as far as willing to kill Zatanna; assuming her hatred towards her former mentor really goes deep? Or perhaps, would Mary even be willing to go as far as to potentially kill Zatanna’s father; just to get back at Zatanna for her “betrayal” towards her and to make Zatanna suffer both emotionally and psychologically?

#6. By making Kara and Mary become the members of the Female Furies, this is how I interpret the possible situation concerning both of them going into Season 5: Mary started off as a hero, but has now become a villain, and the possibility of her redemption will seem low (depending on her actions in Season 5). Kara starts off as a villain, but she will probably find redemption, and will ultimately become a hero. Is my interpretation of the situation concerning Kara and Mary correct? Did you set Up Kara and Mary in such a position so that these two will ultimately go down polar opposite paths over the course of Season 5?

Mr. Weisman,

In light of the post-credits scene in the Season 4 finale, I am giving you a set of interview-style questions centering around Kara Zor-El. Please answer them as detailed as possible.

#1. Let’s start off with the opening question: How does it feel to FINALLY be able to introduce Kara Zor-El into the Earth-16 universe?

#2. You’ve introduced Kara Zor-El in a unique twist; her being a member of the Female Furies alongside Mary Bromfield. Granted, anyone who’ve read the “Supergirl” story arc from the “Superman/Batman”comics (issues #8-13) or have watched the “Superman/Batman: Apocalypse” animated movie would obviously expect that this move was going to happen one way or another. Nevertheless, what ultimately made you decide that this would be the best way to introduce Kara Zor-El; as opposed to what we’ve already seen at least twice in the comics (in which her pod arrives and crash-lands on Earth)?

#3. I going to make a MASSIVE assumption on my part here and will guess that Kara’s presence will have a MAJOR impact on her fellow surviving House of El members on Earth; this being Kal-El (her first cousin), Kon-El (her “half-cousin”), and Jonny Kent (her first cousin once removed). What kind of interactions should we expect her to have with all three members of her family? And by interactions, I mean when she initially meets them (presumably while still a member of the Female Furies), AND later spending time with them to get to know them better (presumably after she switches sides and joins the heroes)?

#4. Aside from her family members, are there any specific interactions you are looking forward to see happen between Kara Zor-El and members of the Team and the Outsiders; considering these are people who would be around her age?

#5. In terms of the direction Kara’s potential story arc will likely go for Season 5; is it safe to correctly assume that Kara Zor-El is NOT meant to be a villain for the entirety of that season? Also, considering what we know from the “Supergirl” story arc from the “Superman/Batman” comics and the “Superman/Batman: Apocalypse” animated movie, can we expect that either Kal-El or Kon-El will likely have to risk their own lives in order to save Kara?

#6. A major concern I have going into Season 5 is that Kara would be the third person in the House of El who “breaks bad”; this previously being Kal-El (during the end of Season 1; due to being brainwashed by Starro-tech) and Kon-El (during the second half of Season 4; due to Phantom Zone Sickness). At this point in time, given what Kon-El nearly did in the final two episodes of Season 4 (almost killing Kal-El before he changed his mind, and briefly fighting his friends before his mind was fixed), we still don’t know if there will be any major consequences coming out from his actions; considering they were publicly broadcasted (and that begs the question as to whether there will be people who will be afraid of Superboy?). As such, how worried should we be that Kara Zor-El might end up publicly disgracing the name/reputation of the House of El due to her being a member of the Female Furies?

#7. There is also the matter of Kara’s Supergirl costume; as you are aware, there are many versions of them (like the one from the comics, the Smallville Season 11 costume, the two Arrowverse Supergirl costumes, the DCEU Supergirl costume, etc.). As such, do you already have a specific version in mind for when Kara finally becomes Supergirl in the Earth-16 universe, or are you still deciding at this point in time?

Mr. Wiesman,

I would like to first preface my question with saying that I truly admire both you and Brandon Vietti. What you and Brandon have created in Earth 16 has been truly fantastic and the first 2 seasons of Young Justice are the best two seasons of any DC show in my book. And as an aspiring writer, your work on both YJ and Spectacular Spider-Man have been very influential to me.

Now, my question has to do with the Nightwing arc of season 4. To me, this arc didn't feel very focused on Nightwing at all. I was hoping for something akin to the Artemis' arc, where we got to really get inside her character and her trauma. I personally couldn't find any attempt to get inside Dick's character with the last five episodes.

Now instead of throwing a bunch of criticisms or anything like that, I just want to ask what your intentions for him in that arc were? Is it just much more subtle and I wasn't able to pick it up or did you not attempt to do any character development with him in the arc?
I very much appreciate you taking the time to answer my question and I hope you have a good day! Hope to see the show renewed for season 5!

Mr Fan and Mr Disappointed Repost writes...

-Just adding one paragraph in response to the last Greg's post-

Hi Greg ! REALLY hope you'll see this post or somebody will bring it to your attention, because it wouldn't make much sense that you read it in one year. Maybe Marvelman (which discussed about it with me at the time) can signal it to you on twitter, since I don't have it. (Thank you if you do it).

First, I want to apologize about being so vindictive in my criticism, I reacted directly after seeing the episode, and I was really mad. Not mad at you, just sooo frustrated that Zatanna (one of my favs characters ever) got less screentime and focus than prayers and religious talking.
I guess I wasn't expecting that. Hard to believe, though, that Artemis got complains about her little screentime, since you developed her family story and character, with her sister, father, flash-backs and so on... Artemis'arc was really about Artemis, but I guess you'll always have complains anyway.
And to be very clear, even if I could, I will still not try to prevent you from saying this or talking about that or that. That's YOUR show, and I understand very well that a writer's first duty is to follow his own mind without listening to other people around him. Or else, you're doing marketing.
So, even if, say, you've chosen to talk about religion all season 5 long (providing there will be one), I'll be sad and mad and disappointed and so on, but I prefer this than deciding for you.
Just to be clear. I'll never tell you you've done wrong. You do what you wanna do, and I like it or not. Period.

As for using the ''Jehovah's Witnesses as some kind of ultimate example of cultish religious extremism '' I would answer you that when you refuse (and I have witnessed that) a blood transfusion for your kid when he/her is about to die, and in case the doctors still want to save him and do the transfusion you ABANDON your own child... I mean, just an example, all right, and I could find many more, What do you call extremism then ? But I didn't say they were the worst out there, that was just an example of atrocious religious brain-washing. And again, I don't target religious people, only religion. Religious people are mainly victims. Objectively, that's the number one source of atrocities in the world today.

If you wanna talk about faith, you can do that outside of religion. It's not only religious faith out there ! I'm an agnostic, and I have some kind of faith about the universe. Don't know how to describe it, but I'm feeling something. Everybody has faith, in his own way. Being agnostic or even atheist doesn't mean you don't think there's an afterlife or a higher power. There are other possibilities than the VERY silly ones proposed by religion. Because, yes, religion is silly. I'm not saying they're wrong, but they're silly. Because, if they're not silly, nothing is. The word ''silly'' exists to designate something. And what could be more silly than saying God has a kid, or judaism (you must be aware of that) spreads through the blood of the mother ?

In fact, when you say it would be difficult to include atheists in the show, I think nothing is more wrong than that. All an atheist must do to be right is to prove the religions are wrong. And you, have definitely proved religious claims to be wrong in earth16.
Huh ?
Yes, because let's take Vandal Savage, for instance. He's 50000 years old, and religions are saying the world is 6000 years old. So Vandal is a living proof that contradicts religions (the main ones at least). And it's not because the soul exists in your world that this proves religions to be right. Anyway, that would be too long to discuss, I've already made a more detailed post about it under my other name ''Paladin''.
Religions are inconsistent anyway, given that every religious textbook is contradicting itself at some point. Which religious people will never admit, but anyway...
An atheist is perfectly ready to accept anything that comes his way, as long as there is proof. He doesn't make unfounded claims like religious people do. So he can very well accept demons and new gods and stuff. And an agnostic is even more tolerant, because he's just saying he doesn't know. So that the humblest position you could have.

When you say this is a story about people and not superheros, well, it isn't. You choose to use DC characters and you have a responsibility with them. If you want to make a character LGBT or else, you can create your own and there will be no problem. But when you use characters that people loved for decades, you can't do whatever you want with them. If somebody was making Mickey Mouse gay or muslim, that would ruin my childhood and it's not because I hate gays or muslims.

As for Khalid, I don't think you can compare his presence to Zatara's because he's been introduced especially for this episode, and Zatara is a long time season 1 character. But anyway, not important.

I would have much more to say, and I'm sure you would too, but I guess this is already taking too long.
SO, at last, I'm sorry if I sounded obnoxious or anything else, I didn't mean to, I acted on impulse because I DO LOVE that show so much, and I thank you and Brandon for bringing those wonderful stories to us. Hope you'll do great, and good luck for everything !

Sorry to re-post this, it feels like I'm spamming the queue, but this is not intended to be answered in one year so moderators can delete that post and the old one when you come to it.
