How strong are Superman and Superboy compared to their comicbook counterparts? Obviously their comic versions are depicted as much stronger, but what % of their power does the showâs versions retain?
True or False?
Superboy's time in the Phantom Zone and how it affected his mind acted as a foreshadowing that would introduce Supergirl as a villain in the "Young Justice" Season 4 finale post-credits scene; because Supergirl herself has been in the Phantom zone for over 40 years and her mind wasn't strong enough to deal with the effects due to her young age (since she is 14 years old).
In the Earth-16 universe...
#1. What year was the Legion of Super-Heroes founded?
#2. Who were the founding members of the Legion of Super-Heroes?
#3. Aside from the founding members, what exact dates did the other members of the Legion of Super-Heroes joined?
Hi, Greg!
You've previously said that when writing Young Justice Seasons 1&2, you broke their stories down into the following sections:
101-102 - Pilot.
103-108 - Intentionally designed to feature one character per episode (without losing complete track of the rest of the Team in the process).
109-113 - Finishing out the first half of the season.
114-126 - The second half of the season.
201-210 - The first half of the season.
211-220 - The second half of the season.
Season 4's arcs are evident, and since it's been about a decade since Season 3, I was wondering if it was intentionally broken down sections/arcs/something different?
If I had to guess:
301-303 - Prep & execution of the Markovia mission.
304-306 - Deciding what to do with Brion, Violet, and Forager, culminating in a new team.
307-309 - New team's training and first mission, culminating in the Light confirming its existence.
310-313 - Integrates Victor Stone into the story. Continues and concludes the search for Tara.
314-316 - Brion, Violet, Forager, and Tara join the Team. Beast Boy rejoins. Culminates in Beast Boy wanting a public team.
317-319 - Early missions of the Outsiders. Culminates in gaining the approval of their guardians and public to Luthor's chagrin.
320-322 - Features New Gods (Metron/Gretchen Goode). Culminates in Granny Goodness acquiring Halo.
323-326 - Ending: Defeat of Granny Goodness / Closure for Artemis / Markovs switch sides.
Thanks for taking the time to read and answer my question!
Mr. Weisman,
If "Young Justice" somehow does NOT get renewed for future seasons, then what are the chances that you will be to properly continue the story through animated films? I mean, would that be the next best option?
Hello Greg!
I remember Artemis mentioning way back in Season One that she wasn't a big cat fan (cue her firing an arrow at Teekl), which was obviously a fun dig at her sister. Then we move to Season Two and find out her and Wally have adopted a dog named Brucely, adding some level of truth to her previous comment.
This implies that Wally is also more of a dog-person (which tracks with his personality). And we know that Conner and Wolf are a package-deal at this point as well, pretty firmly solidifying his stance on the matter. Garfield, too, now that he has Wingman. But here's my question: why are all of the heroes dog-people? Where are my fellow cat-people hiding?
Klarion and Teekl (who I believe counts despite what Dr. Fate says) are the only ones, and they're villains! I feel that this is a grave injustice for both cat-people and cats in general. And from the man who wrote Catwoman: Hunted, too. For shame!
Sure, you could count Cheshire, but her schtick seems more Alice in Wonderland and less cat-lover. And Catwoman, while existing somewhere on Earth-16, has yet to make an appearance in all her feline fatale goodness. You have plenty of characters and plenty of pets, so why no cats?
(Side note: could you count Tawny the Tiger? Possibly. But Billy was seen playing fetch with Wolf, so he's clearly a traitor.)
I mean, are any of the characters cat-people? A few of them just scream cat-person to me (M'gann, J'onn, Original Roy, Tim, Bruce honestly but the comics seem to disagree, maybe Barbara but Dick seems more of a dog-person so...) but still appear cat-less. Such a shame.
(Hopefully this came across more jokey and less snarky, it just occurred to me during a rewatch in the pet-pile up during the wedding credits, its a bunch of canines and a lizard, haha!)
Hope you're having a cat-tastic day!
Outsider Questions
1. How are missions decided b/w league and Outsider? Both get the day missions, the flashy ones, but what factors decide whether or not they go to the League or the Outsiders?
2. What other animals do they use for squad names?
3. Do the outsiders have a Trophy Room that they collect souvenirs from missions like in seasons 1 and 2? One of the questions say that The Team didnât do it for each mission during season 2 and beyond, (Because that was mostly a Wally West thing. God bless him) but maybe every once in a while The outsiders would pick up something. Itâd make a cool social media subject for the in-universe fans.
Hi, Greg. You may have heard that DC reintroduced the infinite multiverse in the comic Dark Crisis: Big Bang #1. If not, here's a link to a page from that comic listing the universes:
https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/nFZ7tRNr8k8SHiDYyhWABA.jpg
Given this (since Earth-16 is already assigned to The Just comic), it would be good to know what number the Young Justice universe has in the current DC multiverse. Thanks.
Cure tech questions.
I rememberer reading somewhere (the wiki, here, or maybe a youtube comment) that The control Chips we see in later seasons were derived from the Techno sorcery Starro Chips in season 1. This was then countered by âCure-techâ derived
Could cure tech neutralize the new Control chips the Light uses? If not, can they be modified to do so? Say into an âAnditode chipâ like in Episode 3.22?
Did the Justice League ever do anything with their cure tech After everyone was innoculated? Or was it simply too specific to get any further use out of?
Mr. Weisman,
Just to confirm in the Earth-16 universe...
#1. Before her marriage, the full name of Superman's mother was Lara Lor-Van; after her marriage, it became Lara El?
#2. Before her marriage, the full name of Supergirl's mother was Alura In-Ze; after her marriage, it became Alura El?
#3. In regards to Jonny Kent, all members of the Kent family are considered to be his adoptive paternal relatives and all members of the House of El are considered to be his biological paternal relatives?
Hey Greg IF Sony does buy WB & DC and they would lose the rights to everything Spider-Man that they own would Marvel be able to revive the Spectacular Spider-Man if they wanted to?
Lobo questions.
1. What are the Main Manâs regular rates?
2. How was he paid for his services in the two jobs he did onscreen screen
2a. I assume he was paid in some sorr of universal currency?
3. Do some jobs cost more than others when hiring him?
Something that I've always been interested in asking you with Spectacular Spider Man, but never asked before because I was positive it would be considered spoiler. But what have I got to lose. How would Peter react to actual magical characters in the marvel universe like Thor or Doctor Strange?
Hi Greg! I just had some questions about gargoyles (as a species).
1. Gargoyles are a single color outside of their hair (if any). Is it possible for them as a species to have naturally occurring markings such as stripes, spots, a different colored underbelly, etc.?
I know Claw has stripes but since he's a mutate, I don't think he counts.
2. Are there gargoyles with tattoos? Could they even get tattoos or would they disappear after awakening from stone sleep?
3. How popular are body modifications among gargoyles? Aside from ear piercings, would they be able to have other piercings such as facial or nasal ones?
4. Can gargoyles dye their hair (if they have any) or would it also disappear after awakening from stone sleep?
Hey Greg is it true that youâre trying to get Young Justice Renewed on a Different streaming service?
Hi Greg
1. Do Bart Allen(Kid Flash), Eduardo Dorado Jr.(El Dorado), Virgil Hawkins(Static), Tye Longshadow, and Asami Koizumi attend school?
2. Miss Martian is a powerful psychic, but I do have questions. How far is her telepathic range, and how strong is her telekinesis?
3. Can Miss Martian generate telekinetic force-fields?
I know you may or may not have answered this, but did Anton Sevarius have any hand in Wolf's transformation into a werewolf-like appearance while the rest of the Pack underwent cybernetic enhancements?
Is there a possibility to make more YJ tie-in comics? Maybe post Season 4?
Have you ever played Hades and/or Hades II?
Hi Greg weisman
Iâm a huge fan hope youâre doing well with your family and friends I understand the situation involving the issues with Sony and Disney why spectacular Spider-Man didnât continue so hear is my question have you ever contacted Bob Iger and let him reach out to Sony to license the show for itâs renewal?
