1-Will Dick get older on season 2? Given the case, how old?
2-If Starfire ever shows up (even as a cameo) how old would she be?

'Revelation' was an awesome episode!! My favorite so far, thanks for this great Joker. The guy who voices him is not Mark Hamill but is sure a good Joker too, I'mm very pleased with him.

1-Will ever the Joker appear again? Fine if you can't answer that but I really hope you can.
2-Why is Klarion a member of the Light? He seemed like to be one of the villains that works for the Light not a memeber of it. That really got my curiosity.
3-Now that the team has random heroes to play as their 'den mother' We saw Captain Marvel. What other heroes are as a possibility for the task?
4-Which of the next episodes of season one will be center on Robin?

That's all I guess. Hope my questions are ok. I love the show thanks for it!

Greg responds...

2. Watch and see.

3. In theory, any member of the League. Watch and see.

1-How old is Barbara Gordon? And what grade is she at Gotham Academy?
2- I don't care who but, will we ever see any of the Teen Titans on the show, even as a cameo? And I mean Cyborg, Raven or Starfire?
3-Will Hynden Walch ever voice a character, any character in Young Justice?
4-Will Artemis always be on the team?

I hope those questions can be answered. Thanks for your time and thank you for one of the best shows ever! Congratulations, Young Justice is so far the best show airing on tv! Actually I watching on internet.

Greg responds...

Etacol retnecipe fo yrecros! = Locate epicenter of sorcery!

Erif, kees tuo siht larutannu erutaerc! = Fire, seek out this unnatural creature!

Niatnoc eht erutaerc! = Contain the creature!

Solvo quod reverto! = [Sorry, I just can't remember what this one means. But it's Latin, if that helps. Google Translate says it means "Free return that!" But that can't be exactly what we had in mind.]

Fulmina venite! = "Summon the lightning!" or "Lightning come!"

Ekirts Natow nwod! = Strike Wotan down!

YJ feedback on Revelation:

Greg, I would like to say it was great to see Milestone characters and more Batman: The Brave and the Bold characters especially Guy Gardner. My most favourite part of that episode was the mudfight between The Team and the Injustice League.

I love how badass Aqualad and all the other Atlantians are on YJ! Usually, Aquaman is considered kind of a joke by a lot of people, but you made them so cool and powerful on the show, which is great. I was wondering, was some of the water controlling powers Aqualad use inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender?

Greg responds...

Well, not really, because I've seen that stuff for years before I was exposed to A:TLAb. For example, W.I.T.C.H. But you know, it's all in there, I guess.

Hi, first of all - I love Young Justice! Tonight's episode (Revelations) was awesome!

I've noticed a lot of fan buzz (very positive, might I add) over the idea of a Kid Flash and Robin romantic pairing. I know there are certain parameters in which you have to operate in - does that preclude the possibility of a KF and Robin relationship?

Thanks.

Greg responds...

Well, what really precludes it, I suppose, is that I don't think either of them are gay. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Hi Greg. I was wondering how the Joker's design in YJ came to be. This version struck me as a crazed Beatle, with the sideburns, the slender build, the fitted suit, and the more youthful face. Don't misinterpret that as a complaint, it makes him very distinct from the DCAU version and the Red Hood version (which is all I'm familiar with). But it's still a curious design choice I wouldn't have expected, and I'd like to know how it came about. Did you have something in mind, and Mr. Bourassa brought it to life, or did you and Brandon take a shining to a concept he brought to you?

If you were toying with other concepts, would you describe them? Concept art always fascinates me, I like seeing other possible directions a character might have taken.

I think your Joker's look made him seem more disturbed than a menacing look would have. Especially with all the knife flailing. He's the only Joker I've seen that would look pretty normal after a re-color. I hope to see him again!

Greg responds...

As always, our lead character designer is Phil Bourassa, who works with input from myself and Brandon Vietti. I don't know exactly how it came about; I just know that I love it.

I've been up since early in the morning, I'm still recovering from the flu, I spent all day running around New York Comic Con, and I will be doing the same tomorrow. I need a lot of sleep. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to miss out on watching and reviewing "Young Justice."

This was, to use a term coined by J. Michael Straczynski, a wham episode. So much happened, and fast. A lot of action, a lot of suspense and, yes, a big revelation. Although one that, I think, was guessed by many people before the episode aired. I will elaborate on that momentarily.

Giant plant creatures are terrorizing the world, and are being organized, seemingly, by the Injustice League. Count Vertigo, Wotan, Poison Ivy, Black Adam, Ultra Humanite, and the Joker. The Justice League faces the plant creatures while The Team are sent in to take down the villains' means to control the plants, ergo facing the villains.

The biggest surprise of this episode was Aqualad using the helmet of Dr. Fate to defeat the Injustice League, particularly Wotan. The battle was very suspenseful, and I was actually glad that in addition to Dr. Fate, The Team was bailed out by the Justice League. I think it would have strained credibility if The Team was able to defeat the Injustice League on their own.

The episode ends with both the League and The Team thinking they've defeated the secret society of villains that have been conspiring against them before we finally cut to Vandal Savage, and the revelation of the identities of The Light. The only real surprise in this line-up was Klarion, as action figure photos from ToyFair and those playing cards that were given away at San Diego Comic Con pretty much gave away everybody else, except for Ra's al Ghul and Lex Luthor who were revealed as members back in "Targets."

I like this line-up. A lot. I am especially excited that Vandal Savage is clearly the head honcho in this organization instead of Lex Luthor. I remember being rather disappointed when "Justice League" and "Justice League Unlimited" were airing and after introducing Vandal Savage, who had all the makings of a great Big Bad that would have helped the series better achieve their own identity, they defaulted (constantly) to Lex Luthor which helped make these series look more like direct sequels to "Superman the Animated Series."

I'm also very interested to learn more about what drives him. The way he uses the word "light" makes me think that, to him, this is more than just a cool name for his little secret society. This is a word that sums up something he deeply believes in. I also like his design, he looks like a savage and a neanderthal. I am curious to learn where those three scars across his face came from. Hmm... did he have a run in with a certain demon in Scotland back in the Dark Ages?

The voice cast in this episode was quite interesting. First, I rather enjoyed Brent Spiner as the Joker. His performance has been getting some mixed reviews across the internet. I personally thought it was terrific, but there were times when it felt wrong to me too. And I know exactly why it did, because we've imbibed Mark Hamill as the Joker for nineteen years now. Hamill owns that role, at least as far as voice work goes. That's a lot to live up to, but I think Spiner will rise to the challenge and while he will never own the Joker the way Hamill does, he is already a worthy one.

Alyssa Milano sounded great as Poison Ivy, but I can tell she's new at voice acting. This is not a knock, with more time to play this character, and especially with a genius like Jamie Thomason directing her, I'm sure she will grow into it. I am reminded of Emma Samms in "City of Stone Part One," and how she grew as a voice actor by the time part four aired.

And I loved hearing Steve Blum again. He's been a favorite of mine for a long time.

The only things that felt a little bit odd to me was Wotan being a part of a group that was trying to ransom $10 billion. I'll admit, before tonight, I had never heard of Wotan. After the episode aired, I looked him up on wikipedia, and based on what I read, a ransom scheme doesn't seem like his style. He seems like someone who plays at higher stakes. Likewise, Klarion, seems too petty and impatient to be a part of an organization like The Light. But time, and more episodes will tell. This production team chose these characters for these positions for a reason, and Greg Weisman has not erred on his previous shows.

The other thing, I felt Aqualad was able to remove the helmet a little too easily. Yeah, he mentioned that Kent Nelson helped, but I hope the next time someone puts that helmet on, taking it off does not come so easily.

This episode was a real game changer, and it leaves me pumped to see what comes next. So far, this show has taken time to grow on me. I liked it, a lot. It's an A+ show, easily. But "Gargoyles" and "Spectacular Spider-Man" were A+ shows with a lot of extra credit. But now, for the first time, I am pumped on this show. I think the extra credit is about to be turned in.

Oh, and if you didn't love Artemis's line about feeling naked and not in the fun way, you have no soul.

Greg responds...

Cave Bear.

And Alyssa Milano is not particularly new to voice acting.

Dear Greg,
Wow, Revelations was great!! I loved the Injustice League, all the members got good screen time, and were accurate to their characters. Of course Joker steals all the scenes he's in, perfect. And thank you for the reserve League members. It was nice to see Plastic Man, Guy, even Blue Devil! But Icon and Rocket really threw me off, I mean wha?? They didn't even survive the reboot (as far as I know). And The Light, it was nice to see a lot of my guesses were right, I knew Brain was in there! Though Klarion was a surprise. Only one thing would have made me happier about this episode, and that would've been an appearance by a certain muck-encrusted denizen of the bayou formerly known as Alec Holland. Now onto some questions I have;

1-Did I hear Wotan use one or more of the spells The Archmage used? If so, awesome, thank you.
2-Is one of the Light emebers Ocean Master?
3-Will Wolf get named? Or the sphere?
4-Are Icon and Rocket League reservists? Or were they just other heroes helping out?
4b-How many reservists does the League have?

Please send my praise to the cast and crew. Can't wait for next week!

Greg responds...

First off, those weren't "reserve League members".

1. Yes.

2. Yes.

3. They've already been named Wolf and Sphere.

Hi Greg. I had a question concerning the YJ comic and it's availability on Amazon. So far, no listing for your companion book issues seems to exist, save the following, entitled "Young Justice Vol. 1", scheduled to be released in 2012.

http://www.amazon.com/Young-Justice-Vol-Art-Baltazar/dp/1401233570/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1318612414&sr=1-1

What exactly is this? There's not a lot of information. Will this be a bundled collection of a few of the issues? 160 pages suggests it's a collection, but that number doesn't seem high enough to include every issue out by that point. Thanks.

I think your direct tie-in marketing for the comic is handled really well, as I don't ever buy them, but plan to get this. That said, I wouldn't have had a clue of its existence without this site, and I still wouldn't have had an incentive if I hadn't read here that the content was relevant (other heroes' backstories, lead-in to the Clayface fight). You guys REALLY needs some advertising. I hope you at least include an insert or something with the eventual DVD season.

Greg responds...

I'm only guessing, but it looks like a trade paperback collecting some amount (probably the first six or so) of issues of the comic.

To be clear, I have NO involvement with (let alone control over) the marketing of the show, comic, trades or dvds.

I've been watching Young Justice since last Thanksgiving, and I'm really enjoying it and am glad we're finally getting new episodes again. No questions right now, just sending you compliments on a generally well-crafted show.

I love Kaldur, M'gann, Superboy, and Artemis, and also Black Canary. I'm really looking forward to getting more about The Light and everyone's evil daddies. I also like the less emotional portrayal of Red Tornado and how you are dealing with Superman being a bad father. Though, I would appreciate it if maybe Wally finally realized not to be a jerk to his female teammates. Also, the internet keeps having persistent rumors that you're going to kill off Kaldur, and I realize it's probably too late as it sounds like season 1 is pretty much in the can, but I beg you not to.

I apologize if this is a double- it doesn't seem to have posted:
Wow... took me forever just catching up on the unanswered questions. Certainly gives me added appreciation to the time you take to actually answer them. Apologies if I've muddled where some things occurred in the time between watching/reading and typing.

Targets:
1- So Artemas & Cheshire are sisters... it's what I suspected, but I still really like the dynamics it sets up. (It seems odd to read someone feels females are under represented in YJ considering it feels to me like the three characters getting the most play (episodes and comic books combined) are Artemas, M'gann and Superboy. By nature of the time period of the series the girls are among the newest side kicks and it shows, but it's how the pieces fit. I'd love to see more of the wildly effective Black Canary, but the kids are the focus of the series.)

2-Politics....
a-Is it just my imagination, or were the stand in for S. Korea body gaurds not Asian? If so, why?
b-Why talk of reunification and not just relations? The latter seems far more realistic.

3- Was Ras aGhul's line about how "Peaceful countries rarely call upon the League of Shadows" purely for Roy's benefit, or was there some truth behind it?

4- High school... there are sure a lot of superpowered, or eventually to be powered teens in that school.... I think you already said that Conner didn't recognize Snapper Carr.

5- Still loving the way the credits refer to characters as they appeared in the episode- If in uniform, that name. If not, not.

6-The Sphere is a cutie. Still reminding me of the Forever People's car that adopted the previous team name YJ.

Terrors-
Liked it very much, but don't have much to say. Always love seeing The Wall. (Well, excepting the image someone posted of how she looks in the New52 Suicide Squad. Any Amanda Waller I outweigh is just plain wrong.) The nature of the operations was a perfect illustration of what was meant by the team's purpose being covert. The relationship between M'gann and Conner continues to charm. And for once on TV someone notices a face out of place!

One very strange compliment: I don't like Icicle Jr's look. This struck me as a good thing. I hadn't really noticed till I was comparing his human look (which was more pleasing) and his iced up one. It makes sense that the combination of how his condition effects him and his own esthetic sense creates his 'costume' may result in something I personally don't like. There is no reason my tastes and that of a 17 yr old hoodlum with daddy issues should aline.

[I don't remember if it was in reference to this ep, or another in which M'Gann and Conner kiss, but I heard a very amusing anecdote in a podcast interview of Danica McKeller about being asked to actually kiss to get the proper sound in the voice recording. She was ok with it, but Nolan North was distinctly uncomfortable considering how very pregnant she was at the time. http://www.jimmyaquino.typepad.com/comicnewsinsider/2011/08/episode-351-cni-one-shot-animation-special-green-lantern-and-young-justice.html]

Homefront- Also enjoyed a lot but don't have much important to say.
1-The Sphere is still really cute.
2-Artemas shined- being inexperienced and overwhelmed makes sense. How she handled it spoke volumes about her.
3-Robin's 'get trought' line was another instance of a verbal tic I don't love used very well and believably. (I don't love "Hello M'gann!" but I very much like it when she uses it in an offhand almost to herself way. It's how real people use annoying speech habits. ...well it's how I use mine;)
4-I got Barbara's cameo {resisting asking the obvious spoiler questions about whether she's Batgirl yet, sanctioned yet, part of the earlier 'croweded batcave' remark Robin made, or going to show up much at all since she's a Gotham and not YJ character... with great difficulty resisting asking if she knows Dick is Robin, and if so, does Dick know she does.}. I see others have asked if Dick skipped a grade to be a freshman. I think it's been asked how old Bab's is. I'll ask if she's skipped any grades? I'm used to the college at 16 Bab's from the comics.
5- Missed the Bette cameo. oops
6- Red Tornado has 'family'...not complaining, but it makes me miss the version with a wife and daughter. Different universe, different stage of life- I just liked them.
7- My guess: Reddy was not the mole, but the mole is as unaware as Reddy would have been. (Not expecting confirmation.)

Alpha Male- Also really happy with the episode.
1-Liking how M'gann resorts to multiple limbs (your animators must have your faces on dart boards).
2-Capt Marvel is fun.
3-One episode of Conner being ridiculously over protective of one of the most physically imposing members of the group is enough- ending with an actual resolution to the issue was very smart. Whether it ends up being perfect or not, I assume it won't be that over the top going fwd. And I do like it when teenagers are allowed to actually talk about what is making them act stupid instead of being forced to continue that way in some mistaken idea that the brain shorts out completely at puberty.
4-Khory's leadership was nicely showcased. The team's annoyance and eventual understanding was also played out nicely. (Again, allowed to act as kids and keep brain function.)
5-Like how they all figured out the collars.

Latest comic-
Is Artemas at all embarrassed by her mother or just totally focused on her father when she made the comment that so obviously hurt her mother?

Greedy request-
I either forgot to scribble notes or lost them, so I don't have many individual comments on the past few comics. Would it be possible to open Ask Greg for at least a few days after issues hit the stands like you do after episodes air?

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. Your description of the kennel/shelter for basset hounds you got him from is pretty much my husband's description of heaven. (AC and unlimited back rubs.) It conjured up an image for me of a much loved and happy pet.

TARGETS QUESTIONS

2a. I think there was a mix. Professionally hired and all.

2b. Both were discussed.

3. All things are true.

HOMEFRONT

4. Barbara is 13. I'll admit to being surprised by all the hoohaw about Dick and Barbara being 13 in 9th grade. I was 13 when I started 9th grade and 14 by the time I finished. It doesn't seem that unusual to me. If it makes folks happier to think Barbara skipped one grade, I'm okay with that.

COMIC
"Embarrassed" isn't the word I'd use. But she generally is ASHAMED of her background and relations, dad, mom and sis included.

As for opening Ask Greg, I'd love to but I'm just so overwhelmed with posts (nearly 500 to get through).

Hey Greg,
quick question about the timestamps for Alpha Male. I may be looking at this wrong, but shouldn't the timestamp for Fawcett City read September 23 instead of September 24? Because it's either that or the team's mission took a lot longer than I thought.

Greg responds...

I stand by that one.

1.) Why doesn't Superman have super breath in this series?
2.) How strong is Captain Marvel? Is his strength in the same league as Superman's?
3.) How durable is Captain Marvel? I ask because it was hinted in "Alpha Male" that a laser that could cut through steel could cut through him.

Greg responds...

1. It's a power that has NEVER made any sense to me. The VOLUME of Superman's lungs is no larger than a human's. I don't care how powerful he is, he just can't take in enough air to make his breath worthwhile. And the notion that he can super-freeze that air makes even less sense to me.

2. He's strong. He's in the ballpark of Superman, but neither are probably as strong on YJ as they've grown to become in the comics.

3. Brain never got the chance to test that theory.

Dear Mr. Weisman:

Hope all is well. I enjoyed Gargoyles when I was growing up, and I felt compelled to write you after reading through all 647 comments on the Young Justice archive.

I LOVE Young Justiceâ€"not like but LOVEâ€"and when I read a comment that this show is the one with most negative comments, I wanted to tip the scales. I liked JLU and B:BATB, but YJ is the first show I truly believe took the mythos of the DCU and not only created a show that was true to these roots but still made a unique premise. It’s familiar and new at the same time, true to everything that makes the DCU great. I’ve downloaded all the episodes from iTunes onto my phone, and I listen to them as I load contracts. XD!

I really love how the show focuses on the teenagers but doesn’t ignore the adults (like TT). Characters on the show have never been ignored. When you focus on Wally or Dick or Artemis, you still have the others play significant roles in the episode, and the cameos are AMAZING! From Barabara Gordon to Jay Garrick, you’ve forgotten no one, and you’ve used almost everyone! I try to keep a tally, always adding new ones. I know it’s been said 135 people through the first sixteen episodes, so I’m trying to find all the characters.

A few random thoughts:

1. Love Dick’s word play. I actually have started looking up words and their meanings, like “traught.” It’s really cool to see the root words! (My mom’s an English teacher, so it works well with her classes, too.)
2. Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see in the show/comic where Wally knows Dick’s real name, so I liked being able to read that in the archives.
3. Kaldur and Garth were awesome! I loved how the show gave us an in-depth look at Atlantis and how it is the same and different in the mainstream DCU. (I love Kaldur, too, and I like his role as a leader. It makes sense that he would be in charge rather than the young Robin, and Kaldur leads the Team awesomely!) I know you’ve said that Garth is Kaldur’s best friend, so I hope we see more of him on the show eventually. (Not a back door spoiler request. XD! Just hope he comes back.)
4. I originally thought the Light was Lex Luthor, but I like that it’s seven people. It makes us wonder who they are. Same with the traitor plot that’s now coming out. I don’t think it’s Red Tornado since he didn’t turn until after the other robots came back online, but I like that there isn’t someone we really know is the traitor. I’ve spoken with watchers in my LCS, and all of us have different people we think it is. XD!
Thanks for putting out such a great show, and I appreciate these archives and your willingness to answer questions. I actually won’t ask anything because I’m sure anything I would, would either receive a “no comment” or “spoiler request,” so I’ll just end with this:

Good luck to the show. I hope it runs for many seasons and I get a higher paying job, so I can continue to buy the episodes off of iTunes for my phone.

Thanks!

Devin Leigh Michaels

Greg responds...

As I've mentioned before, most of the negativity has toned way down this round. But POSITIVITY is always nice! ;)

In "Bereft" (which is quite possibly my favorite episode thus far), the Biyalan troops immediately open fire on Wally and Artemis with what seems to be lethal force. But when they ambush Robin, the orders are to take him alive. Is this just a case of different troops operating under different orders? Or is there some significance to the fact that they wanted Robin alive?

If I didn't know for a fact that Greg Weisman wasn't on drugs, I'd ask him to share whatever he's smoking. It should be impossible. How do you take something as corny and frankly stupid as a French brain in a jar whose' best friend is a gorilla in a French beret and make that intimidating. "Young Justice" managed to succeed at that.

The teaser is great, and the inciting incident is brilliant. Mayor Hill of Gotham City is in the jungle when a gorilla steps out of the trees with a mini-gun and shoots them all up. I'll admit to being amazed Mayor Hill is even still alive after that. But I did enjoy his cameo. I have no idea if he was in the comics, but I know he was in "Batman the Animated Series."

This episode is about the fallout between The Team and Aqualad after the latter keeps to himself that there is a mole on the team. I thought Superboy's reaction was well handled, and while I have seen a lot of complaints about how The Team reacted to this, I think they all ring true. What many people seem to forget is that these are teenagers. They are not the professionals that Batman and the Justice League are. Not yet anyway. This entire team was founded upon these teenagers being pissed off that the League was keeping secrets and not trusting them. Of course they'd be pissed off at Aqualad. But, by the end of the episode, after speaking to Captain Marvel, Aqualad takes charge and the team seems to get over it. But I am sure this will continue to have long term consequences.

This brings me to something else. A while back, I saw someone say and I'm paraphrasing from memory "Teen Titans reminded me of what was fun about being a teenager, Young Justice reminds me of what sucked about being a teenager." What? Why should the less fun parts about being a teenager not get depicted in a show about teenagers. My memories of being a teenager are not exactly happy ones. God forbid fictional teenagers get written like real ones, instead of a fantasy version of teenagers. Yes, I know this is a fantasy world, but that doesn't mean everything should be run through and sanitized to a point where the less fun stuff is glossed over and ignored. These aren't adults waiting for a growth spurt, and yet a lot of the complaints I see are from people who think they should be written that way. I think the problem here is that many fans are looking to their favorite shows or books for wish fulfillment rather then drama. People want to escape to a fictional world where they can vicariously live out there fantasies via their favourite hero. But there is no drama, and that's not real. This actually ties back to what I said two weeks ago about Superboy and Miss Martian's romance... of course it's not real. These are two hormonal teenagers who have a lot of growing up to do.

Finally, Captain Marvel was easily the highlight of the episode. I loved his child-like enthusiasm, and even though I knew about his secret identity, I still thought the epilogue of the episode was played perfectly. Fun stuff. I hope to see more of him as The Team's new den mother.

You know for a "fact" that I'm not on drugs?

I don't want you to give it away, just to clue us in as to whether or not we will learn it in due course.

Hi Greg,

First, I love Young Justice, Spectacular Spider-Man, and Gargoyles. But I do have one criticism of Young Justice that you may or may not wish to respond to.

I love Young Justice, but if I have one criticism it's that you have turned the Justice League in to a bunch of wimps. In one episode, you have Superman struggling to lift a bus over his head. Dude, Spider-man can lift a bus over his head! Then, in "Alpha Male," you have Captain Marvel who is generally regarded to have powers on par with Superman, walk in to a trap like some chump. It was really undignified for someone considered to be the world's mightiest mortal.

I understand that you are trying to create a sense of jeopardy - that these characters are actually in danger, so you are deliberately limiting their capabilities. And I'm not suggesting you return to the era of the Superman who could push planets around, but I feel that you have gone to far in the other direction.

Like I said, I love the show, and I appreciate you taking the time to answer our questions, but this really bugs me.

Greg responds...

If what we're talking about is power-levels, than I'll freely admit that we've dragged many of the characters back to the power levels that they started with (or closer to that). I think over the years, a lot of characters, including Spider-Man (and I got complaints about this issue on that series too), have grown over-powered as various writers, artists and editors kept piling on to solve temporary story problems. As I've stated in the past, I'm adamantly opposed to POWER INFLATION, and so we dial back.

As for Captain Marvel, I don't think he was a chump, but if you want characters that can anticipate every possible outcome, you've picked the wrong series.

You've said that 179 DC characters will appear by the end of season one of Young Justice, and I have some questions regarding the character count.

1) Is Doctor Fate counted separately from Kent Nelson and Nabu since he's a merger of the two characters.

2) Were two of the reporters seen outside the Hall of Justice in "Independence Day" Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen?

3) There's a character countdown list on the toonzone forums http://www.toonzone.net/forums/showthread.php?276163-quot-Young-Justice-quot-Character-Countdown-%28Spoilers%29. Would you mind revealing if anyone is missing from the countdown, or if someone's real name is misidentified?

Greg responds...

1. I've got Fate, Nabu and Kent listed as three separate characters, because for legal reasons relative to DC Comics, they are separate. On the other hand, Batman and Bruce Wayne are considered one character, so the Fate thing is a special case, and not indicative of how secret identities were quantified.

2. I don't think so.

7. Who is Superboy closest to among the males on the team? he seems to enjoy Wallys company as he was the one who opened his home to him. They also seemed to have a good time mocking the tornado twins together. But then again Aqualad seems to understand his emotions more then other.
8. Do the other members of team ever look down at Robin for being so young or has he well since proved his ability to hold his own to them?
9. Is Aquaman from atlantis or was he originally from the surface world like some of his origins dictate?
10. Is superman married is this universe or even in a relationship with Lois lane?

Hey Greg, I really like the show and had a couple of questions.

Question 1: How does Commissioner Gordon afford to send his daughter to a private school on a cop’s salary.

Question 2: I debated asking this because I have a feeling it might be a spoiler request but I wasn’t entirely sure. If it is, feel free to ignore it. Edward Nygma never struck me as having superpowers so why was he being held in Belle Reeve?
Thanks for your time and really I adore the show.

Greg responds...

1a. He's not living on a cop's salary, but a Police Commissioner's salary.

1b. There are scholarships.

1c. None of your business how he chooses to budget his money.

2. <sigh> As stated MANY TIMES ALREADY, Belle Reve isn't just for individuals with super-powers. It's for individuals, who qualify as super-criminals. Sometimes the brain is mightier than the brawn, and a traditional prison is not capable of holding these criminals.

Me again Greg just a quick question,

If Lucas "Snapper" Carr appears in another DC cartoon, would you want to voice him again?

I'll take all the work I can get. ;)

YJ feedback and things I would like to say about Barbara Gordon:

Greg, I would like to say I am very very happy that you've casted Jesse McCartney and Alyson Stoner as Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon and that they are now some of my favourite YJ characters. If Dick and Barbara weren't voiced by any "good talented" Disney stars, they would have been boring characters.

I don't know about you Greg. But since she's voiced by a "good talented" Disney star I really felt Barbara's personality is leaning towards "Christy Carlson Romano" territory after watching her appearance and attitude on your show. It's a good thing BTW. Oh and I would love to see more appearances of Barbara.

Greg responds...

I'm thrilled with Jesse and Alyson too - though I wasn't aware that either were "Disney stars" and whatever roles they may or may not have played in the past had no influence on us here.

Twelve episodes into "Young Justice," and my question is essentially the same one I asked after the premiere: why is this show so predominantly focused on the male characters at the expense of the female?

The show still features only two girls on the team. The women of the Justice League have hardly been seen at all - your interviews when the show began certainly led me to believe Black Canary would play a far stronger role. But most frustrating of all, even this far into the season, Miss Martian and Artemis are consistently portrayed as the least experienced heroes struggling to keep up with the boys.

Last week in "Terrors," we got to see Superboy and Miss Martian undercover together - with M'Gann quickly discovered and captured, and eventually rescued by Superboy. This week, Artemis got to follow Robin around, panicking and asking, "What do we do?!" Yes, she was the one to save her teammates in the end, but she did so following Robin's plan, and the momentum of the episode was built around her fear, not her strength. It would have been a powerful emotional journey - if your show also allowed women to be the strong and independent heroes as often as the boys. When most of the stories are about the guys taking the lead, an episode like this about Artemis just serves to underline the disparity between the tough guy heroes and the emotional rookie girls.

(And a more minor note: I was also pretty disappointed by the cameo from Barbara Gordon, one of my favorite comic characters in all her incarnations - reducing such a brilliant and independent person to a moment of glaring jealousy.)

I'm sincerely baffled how such a dude-heavy show can come from the writer behind the many wonderful women of Spectacular Spider-Man - not to mention the same writer who gave the world Elisa Maza!

Greg responds...

I don't think it is "predominantly focused on male characters at the expense of the female". And I don't agree with most of your characterizations of our characterizations.

I think you have a very black-and-white view of what qualifies as "strength" - let alone what constitutes an "independent" character - male or female.

I'm very proud of Elisa and "the many wonderful women of Spectacular Spider-Man" but I don't think that any of those characters DEFINE how other female characters should be presented. Female strength and independence should be as diverse and multi-faceted as those qualities are in males. I try to write what is RIGHT for an individual character instead of putting her OR him in a pre-assigned slot for strong or independent.

If you don't see Artemis as strong, coming out of "Homefront" than I feel like we've little common ground for discussion. To me, it's not lack of fear that makes one strong, but how one triumphs over that fear.

By now, you've probably seen that next to Batman and Red Tornado, Black Canary has the largest role of anyone in the League. I'm personally quite happy with Miss Martian and Artemis and how they've been presented. We've added Zatanna, and we're not done.

Maybe by now you've changed your mind. Maybe not. And you're certainly entitled to your opinion. But you haven't come close to convincing me that you're correct.

I'm curious how Icicle Senior managed to get Killer Frost, Mr. Freeze, and Captain Cold to cooperate with him in his plan to bust the other cons out of Belle Reve. I mean, these guys are villains, not heroes. I understand why heroes would want to help out other heroes, but I think villains by their very nature wouldn't really care much about the well-being of other villains unless it's somehow in their own best interest or if the villain that they are helping is someone that they are personally close to. Why would these guys be so altruistic as to help anybody else?

Greg responds...

Altruism had little to do with it. The phrase "in their own best interest" from your post stands out.

Hey, Young Justice is awesome man! Your doing great on that series.
1. How come while Artemis, Robin, Wally, M'gann, and Superboy have to go to school, Aqualad doesn't?
2. Are you planning to reveal more about Green Lanterns in Young Justice or at least making them a main focus in an episode?
3. What grades are the Team all in?

Greg responds...

1. He graduated from his basic Atlantean required schooling and completed his mandatory military service. And he dropped out of the Conservatory of Sorcery.

2. Eventually, the television series and/or the comic will reveal more.

3. Conner & Megan are in 11th grade. Wally & Artemis are in 10th. Dick is in 9th.

Great job on Young Justice so far. I got a few questions:

1.What are the names of Red Tornado's "sibling" androids from episode 12?

2.Will Kid Flash and Artemis become friendlier to each other?

3.Will more characters join The Team later on in this season or next season?

Thank you.

1. Red Torpedo, Red Inferno and Red Volcano.

Hello Again Mr Weisman! Thanks so much for the answers earlier, and now I have a couple more.
1 In Young Justice issue #6, Superboy says that he wants to take Superman "out", will this be touched on in the series?
2 I read in the YJ archives that Jor-El and Lara came to Earth with Superman, will we meet them or are they deceased?
Thanks for taking the time!

Greg responds...

1. Yes.

2. You read that where? I'm sure I never confirmed that.

Just wanted to say I love Young Justice. My daughter and I watch it religously, and when I can get her to the comic book store, she can never make it past the Young Justice comic without grabbing a copy.
The new episodes are fantastic. I love the pacing of the series. Please don't stop the occasional focus on characters like Red Arrow, or fantastic moments like the dessert scene with Bruce and Clark. Also, as someone who watched the original Super Friends way back in the day, I was absolutely cracking up at Marvin's "M" shirt when he crashed into Connor. Priceless.

My only question is: Since the big DC reboot, I haven't seen anything about Young Justice being in the New 52. Is the Young Justice comic going to continue, or are there any plans for any upcoming comics in the Young Justice continuity/Earth 16?

Thanks for all of your efforts on the show! As I watch each episode, it really shines through that this is "special", and that the creators really care about it.

Greg responds...

The comic is indeed continuing. At the moment, it and the show are the only things in the Earth-16 continuity.

in "homefront" (awesome episode btw), why did Artemis choose her arrow out of the different memorabilia instead of the helmet of Fate? it just seems rather short-sighted to me to hang the fate of the entire team on a single shot with an arrow instead of an all powerful magical artifact. funny though, now she's saved the team with that arrow twice.
