1) Did La'gaan know Jason Todd?
2) Did La'gaan date anyone before M'gann?
3) How did he come up with the name Lagoon Boy?
4) In the comic, YJ#14, Aqualad said that La'gaan, Blubber, etc. were former classmates. But they were a wide range of ages. La'gaan was 12 at the time, was he at the same learning level as Kaldur? Basically what I'm wondering here is if they were actually in the same class or Kaldur just meant they were fellow pupils at the Conservatory.

Greg responds...

1. SPOILER REQUEST. NO COMMENT.

2. Ever?

3. His own real first name inspired it. Plus he saw Creature from the Black Lagoon.

4. Fellow pupils, though they may have had a class or two in common.

Hi there! Greg I have a little request more than a question for you...and since you could easily answer me that you could but won't do it, I would like you to see it as a challenge;
Could you describe how would it be the last scene of the last episode of Hello, Megan? Please??? And thank you :)

Greg responds...

No, I'm sorry. But I don't know it off the top of my head. So I'd have to figure it out, and I don't figure out that kind of stuff lightly. So it would take time. And I don't have that time. And, as I've said here before, I'm not looking for Ask Greg posters to come up with CHALLENGES for me. It's incredibly presumptuous, for starters, and it puts me in the awkward position of having to write up something like THIS, which makes me look like a jerk for not rising to your challenge. Thanks.

Hey Greg, I was wondering, since Earth-16 is (apparently) still in the DC Multiverse, and Grant Morrison is doing Multiversity, which will include a full map and profile of all the Universes, have you or anyone on the YJ team been in talks with Grant about the details of Earth-16?

Greg responds...

Nope. I'd love to be included, but it hasn't come up.

Were Barbara and Dick each others' first kisses?

Greg responds...

For Barbara, yes.

For Dick, well, I guess it depends on how you're defining "first kiss". But Dick and Barbara's kiss in issue #25 of the comic takes place before Dick and Zatanna's kiss in episode 126 of the series. But Zatanna kissed Dick earlier then either of those two kisses in issue #20 of the comic. But it was basically just a peck, so I don't know if you'd count that.

i do not understand the ending of the young justice comic issue 10.
1.is Captain Adams evil?

Greg responds...

No. I'm not even sure where you'd get that idea. Are you confusing Captain Adams with Wade Eiling?

I am kinda confused with this entire plan that Nightwing,Aqualad,Wally, and Artemis has to find out the light's new partner.
1.When did they find out the light had a new partner?
2.Who started the whole plan?
3.how did each person come to be in on the plan?
4. what is the difference with venom and cobra venom?

Greg responds...

You've got the whole thing backwards.

They started out to infiltrate and bring down the LIGHT. Finding the new partner was something that came up along the way.

1. Watch the episodes. Sorry, but I'm tired of reiterating stuff that was 100% clear on the series itself.

2. Aqualad and Nightwing.

3. Watch the episodes.

4. Watch the episodes.

1.Do Zatarra and Zatanna have magic? 2.like are they magical beings or do their magic come from the spells they read?
3.and if so does that mean anyone can read their spells aloud and do what they do?

Greg responds...

1. Is this a trick question?

2. The latter.

3. No. It takes training and focus and a certain natural inclination. The spells themselves are the icing on the cake.

1.Did aqualad know Kid Flash,Red arrow, and Robin before they became a team?
2.were they friends?

Greg responds...

1. That's stated in the show. Yes.

2. Yes. Again, if you watch the show, you'd KNOW that Kid Flash and Robin were best friends, and that Aqualad's best surface friend was Speedy/Red Arrow. And they all knew each other and got along.

Why didn't Martian Manhunter bring Megan when the team went to the hall of justice?
I assume she was who they were talking about when they told martian manhunter that is was good that they didn't bring her and he agreed

Greg responds...

I don't think he had quite decided what to do with her yet. He had more or less decided not to send her back to Mars, but he wasn't sure about the sidekick thing. Or if he wanted her revealed to the public.

in the comics Megan tells the team that she won a competition to be Martian Manhunter's sidekick but we later find out that that was false and really Martian Manhunter found that she had snuck into his ship.
1. How exactly did Megan convince Martian Manhunter that she was his niece?, 2.wouldn't he be suspicious of a girl in his ship?
3.is it true that he wasn't really certain that she really was his niece

Greg responds...

1. He's psychic. Lying isn't too effective.

2. Initially, but he understood what she had gone through on Mars as a White Martian. And he was sympathetic.

3. No. What's true was that he didn't really know her at all. He has a LOT of nieces and nephews, and considering he's spent DECADES away from Mars, he does not have a personal relationship with very many of them.

How can Sportsmaster look so young for his age? Are the Lazarus pits involved?

Greg responds...

Crusher credits his youthful appearance to good genes and an extensive exercise regimen. Plus he eats right. No pits involved at all. Not even olive.

This might be cliche, but what was your favourite thing about working on Young Justice.

Surely as we're all telling you how much this show means to us and has had an effect on us, no one's been asking you about your experience on the show. Since obviously the writer goes through a different experience than the fans.

And thank you so much for creating this amazing show!

Greg responds...

You're welcome.

Um... there was a lot to love. I had a great partner, Brandon. I had great collaborators, including Phil and the other artists, Kevin and the other writers, Jamie and the ENTIRE cast (but particularly our regulars), Jho and everyone else in post, Lolita, Kris and Michael. David and so many other great people. They were all a dream to work with. The fan response was frustrating at times, but mostly and ultimately very gratifying. Voice recordings were always fun, but there's nothing like a sound mix when it all comes together. Plus, think of the characters I had the privilege to work on! And I'm proud as hell of the final product.

O I forgot about another question I had: What is Martian Manhunter's new human biological age equivalent in 2016? We know Miss Martian's was 16 in 2010 and 18 in 2016, but for Martian Manhunter we do not know. (I am one of the frequent editors on the YJ wiki).

Greg responds...

For all Martians, I take chronological age and divide by three and then I round up or down to the nearest whole number. I figure you can do the same.

So, about Complications (which was an AWESOME episode, by the way)...
1)How did Crusher and Jade manage to find the Manta-Flyer?
2)Sportsmaster calls Deathstroke by his first name: does this mean that they are old friends/old partners/old something?
3)Speaking of Deathstroke, can you confirm that his full name is Slade Wilson?
4)How old is Deathstroke?
5)(This isn't directly tied in with the episode, but hey, since I'm here) How many years ago Aquaman and Manta fought for the first time?

Greg responds...

1. Sportsmaster had contingencies in place before he risked any split with the Light.

2. "Friends" might be pushing it, but they've clearly worked together before. Just ask Ted Kord. (Ooh, sorry.)

3. Yes.

4. By the end of Season ONE, Deathstroke was 47.

5. I have not nailed down a specific year for that yet, but it was LONGER ago than the conception of Kaldur'ahm.

Hello Mr. Greg Weisman,

I just read your ramble posting about John Wells, which was quite interesting. You said he was the one who provided research on the DC universe for you and all the other people who worked on the Young Justice TV series and comic books.

Research-wise, is the source material that he uses only comes from pre-"Flashpoint" DC Comics continuity, or does he also uses source material from The New 52 as well?

Thanks for taking the time to read this posting.
CGYJ

Greg responds...

As I've stated AD NAUSEUM, we were all DONE before New 52 started. So his research came from before that. But that wasn't a policy decision or any kind of value judgement. New 52 simply didn't exist yet. It's a function of schedules. (HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I SAID THIS?)

I really gotta know, in Season 1, The Joker tried to kill every one present with Joker Venom when the Injustice League surrendered. While it would seem like he didn't care if he died as long as he killed everyone, Joker is immune to the deadly gas in the comics. Was he really trying to pull a genuine "Taking you with me"? Or is he immune in the YJ canon, and planned to make a getaway once the venom killed everyone?

Greg responds...

I like it ambiguous.

When one of the Green Lanterns uses the Zeta tubes and the system announces their arrival/departure, how does it name them? Does it just say, "Recognized, Green Lantern, [number]" for all of them, or does it call John and Guy by their real names since their identities are public anyway?

Greg responds...

It just gives their nom-de-guerre (i.e. Green Lantern) and designation.

Youve said before that Captian Atom has metal alloy skin, not a shell. So is he as anatomically correct as a Ken doll or something?
And shouldnt he be wearing some pants? If all the silver is his skin, it lloks like all he is wearing are boots, gloves, and a symbol on his chest, which leave NOTHING to the imagionation...exept what happened to his genitalia.
Can he even have any more kids if he wanted to?

Greg responds...

The metal covers his private parts and his toes by subconscious choice. The not-a-shell statement was in response to being asked if he was a Wildfire-style energy being beneath a metal shell. He's not. He's a fully organic human being beneath an alien metal coating.

Did Zatanna when she first met Robin in the episode Humanitylike him at first sight? Or did her likeness develope over a certain period of time?
I noticed how awkward she looked when he rambled asking her if she was joining the team, but never really expressed any discomfort when he flirted with her throughout the rest of the season.
Thank you for your time. :)

Greg responds...

I'm gonna say both.

When the world was split and the helmet was split, Nabu was also split. Why was Klarion not split? Does it have to do with the age of Teekl? If so what age is Teekl?

I thought I'd also try answer why there doesn't need to be an archery force as opposed to a speed force. Within the laws of physics archery can be performed at an expert level and the subject is not destroyed while performing such impressive feats. Running at speeds like speedsters are capable of are impossible to survive while doing. As such the speed force is not the thing that makes them run at that speed but the thing that allows them to survive running at that speed. At least that's my understanding of it though you have said we can imagine it which is satisfactory enough. I just thought you might like to understand the difference between the force being necessary and an archery force not being.

Greg responds...

1. It has more to do with the age that Klarion perceives himself as.

2. And how is Speed-Force different from Strength-Force? Or Heat-Vision-Force? Or Flight-Force? Or Shrink-Down-Force? Or Any-Actual-Super-Power-Force?

Look, you picked my most hyperbolic example, the one I was using to make a comedic point, and so didn't address my ACTUAL point. To some degree, you either buy into super-powers or you don't. At least, that's my opinion. The Speed-Force seems an unnecessary complication. Harder to get my head around than the original power its trying to explain. I mean, why should speed even HAVE a force?

Having said that, I'll simply repeat what I've stated before: if you love the Speed-Force and want to believe it exists on Earth-16, then may the speed-force be with you. All I've stated categorically is that no one on Earth-16 has ever heard of the Speed-Force. But the fact that no one's heard of it, doesn't in and of itself mean it doesn't exist. (See my recent answer regarding Meta-Genes.)
