I fully enjoy each and every episode of YJ, "Agendas" having just aired yesterday.

It did prompt a question or two which I hope do not qualify as spoilers.

1. Given that Batman is "The World's Greatest Detective," and claims he knew about Captain Marvel's secret Identity the whole time (I have no reason to believe he didn't, he is that good after all), Are there other members of the league (or other superheros on the level of the league) who have not shared their secret identity, but Batman already knows their secret. (I am only hoping for a yes or no and would not ask you to provide a list.)

2. From what we saw for the JL's membership procedures, it seems to be almost completely democratic (I hope I did not misinterpret). Each member gets to vote on each issue, each potential member/member under review, etc, even those issues where a member is concerned (IE renewing Dr. Fate and Captain Marvel's membership status). My question is: when Batman was elected as head of the JL, did he vote for himself, or not?

Oh no! Not only was Superman dna stolen...but by Lex Luthor!!!!! And there is more than one clone! Poor Superman. It is awful when you think about it.People keep giving him a hard time but this was almost like rape.He is by far the victim in all this. I hope this is not used as a plot device for Superboy story but acknowledged and handled sensitively for Superman's sake and the sake on any person who has been violated. And it must be me, but Captain Marvel in the JL disturbs me. He IS a kid in a man's body. I cannot see how Batman can find no issues with it. Are they really going to have him sitting there while they could be discussing things that are not age appropriate? Interesting Batman can just wave his hand at everybody and tell them how right he is and how wrong they are to question him.

Not a question, but rather some praise. I seriously love "Young Justice". I think it's an absolutely brilliant show and I like how each episode gets better and better every time. Character development and interactions have been very enjoyable, the plots are engaging, I love all the voice talents chosen for each role, the animation is outstanding... All in all, it's amazing.

Right now, I'm waiting for "Insecurity" to air this Saturday and I'm positively anxious to watch "Performance" the Saturday that follows. I almost can't stand the wait, actually, but I'm being strong! (Fingers crossed for no more hiatuses from CN, too~ XP)

So I just wanted to say thanks to you, Brandon and everyone else involved for giving me a series to love and a good reason to enjoy weekends just a bit more. Cheers!

I have watched the first four installments since the series has returned,and have enjoyed them very much!!!That being said, my comments and questions are on the 17 March 2012 installment image. Miss Martian is my favorite character, i thought this installment was outstanding! Even those it was hard to see her in so much pain after seeing the vision of Superboy. So, today's episode; Wow... First off, great job with Match. The costume seemed inspired by his early appearances, but having him burn the S on his chest, at first reminding me of the affectioantely-named Emo-Prime, then reminded me of Match's later Bizarro-inspired appearances. Again, nicely done.
Other things I liked in this were the first mention of The Atom, very cool. Making Roy and Guardian family, also cool. And Hal & John's response to Guy joining the team of NO. Hillarious! On that note, nice voice casting with Maggie Q as Diana, she commanded such authority, nice job.

Please keep it up and pass my good tidings to the rest of the cast & crew.

Hi Greg, I want to know if you think Batman's response ( In Agendas) about why he trained Robin from age 9 really somehow justifies taking children into crime fighting. Because in my mind it does not. No matter how Batman ( or the writers) spin it. Taking in a teenager is very different to a child.

Agendas was awesome. A few questions, though.

I'm assuming that Guardian is Jim Harper and that he's the younger brother of Red Arrow's biological dad (He did say Roy was his nephew, after all, and if it really is Jim, the shared surname would indicate a paternal relation). Is my assumption correct?

You said in response to an earlier question that Guardian was only 24 years old. If the above assumption is correct, was there a big age gap between Guardian and Roy's dad? Because I can't imagine a mere six year gap between uncle and nephew otherwise.

Does Roy know that he has an uncle?

On a happier note, congratulations to the cast of "Young Justice" for being nominated for "Best Vocal Cast in a Television Series" and "Best Male Vocal Performance in a Television Series in a Supporting Role" (Crispin Freeman- Roy Harper/Speedy/Red Arrow) at the BTVA awards. You guys certainly have my votes- though I figure that by the time you read this the voting process and the announcement of the awardees would be long over.

Damn it, Greg! Please don't make me like Lex Luthor. You've already made me like Venom, stop doing this. Stop taking character that I consider to be lame and making them work for me! Okay, with that tangent out of the way, let's segue into my review.

It's been twenty episodes, and sixteen months since we last saw Project Cadmus. Ideally, we wouldn't have had the delays between episodes that we did, but that is hardly the fault of the show. Still, it was nice to see Superboy "return home" and face his past. This is the third episode in a row to focus on a specific member of The Team. Kid Flash got his episode, Miss Martian got her's. This week, it was Superboy's turn. As with the previous two episodes, this was one the character needed.

I know next to nothing about the DC Universe, but through pop cultural osmosis, I knew who Superboy's other dad was since shortly after the series got started. I thought Luthor was very effective in this episode, and I loved seeing him play the good dad. If I step back and pretend I don't know anything about Lex, his words near the end were frighteningly agreeable.

"Big Boy Blue lives in a world of black and white. You were created by the bad guys, so there must be something wrong with you. But we both know life isn't that clear cut, the real world is full of grays."

And he's right. Lex Luthor is right. I'm sure some Superfans are going to be disgusted with this, but it's true. Now, granted we all know Luthor is a very dark shade of gray, and he is using the truth for his own ends, but that doesn't make him wrong.

I also enjoyed Luthor's Xanatos Gambit. He used Superboy to discover the genomes, and bring them back under control. Smart. Practical. Smarter and practical than the DCAU version of Lex Luthor who threw a fit when something didn't go his way and always got his ass handed to him at the end. But what should I expect when you put Lex in the hands of the man who created David Xanatos. Luckily for all involved, I don't think Superboy is going to turn out to be like Thailog.

Loved finally seeing the Watchtower, and I loved this design. It was built into an asteroid, instead of just being an orbiting hunk of metal. Pretty cool. It was great seeing the Justice League get together and really seeing how they operate, and the disagreements among the team. Maggie Q is a great Wonder Woman, and I loved when she needled Batman for training Dick Grayson to be Robin at nine years old, and I loved it even more when Batman said he did it so Dick wouldn't end up like him.

Four home runs in a row, keep them coming.

With the remarks about the importance of the membership decisions and that the JLA doesn't want to encourage the creation of another Injustice League, does the JLA
have a maximum amount of members? If so, is part of the reasoning to keep League decisions from becoming too unwieldy?
Wonder Woman's suggestion of expelling Captain Marvel took me by surprise. Is a
unanimous decision required to expel a member?
You mentioned in a response to a past question that Zatanna was previously deemed an authorized guest. Does this status have to be voted on as well?
Finally, it was good to see a glimpse of the Atom. Is Ray Palmer well-known by the general public to be a renowned scientist? Does the League factor into their decision his scientific knowledge?

Just watched Agendas. Maggie Q was exceptional as Wonder Woman. For the first time I got a real feeling that she is a real respected member of the Trinity. In other JL cartoons she always feels outside the boysclub of Superman and Batman. Thank you for that. I loved seeing how close she and Superman appear to be and how she supports his choice of nominee when Green Arrow was kind of mocking him and how she lays into Batman too. The superboy and match encounter wow. And Lex reveal. Oooohhh boy. You amped up the drama even more. It's bad enough they took Superman's dna without his consent but they mixed it with Lex's??? How will Clark deal with that one I wonder? Anyway brilliant job on this one. 10 out of 10.

I saw your answers to my questions, or one of them anyway, but I also noticed that I left out the second question.

The companion comics have a date of say April '12 on them (issue 12) but that comic came out in January '12. Was this intentional or were the comics finished sooner than expected? I was waiting for the questions to open back up to ask this, and when asked, I messed up and left out my question.

I've noticed this trend when looking at the page on the comic website I order from. I may be wrong, I don't know.

One added thing, I noticed looking at the comic site, that Issue 14 has a different look than 1-13, any reason why the change in the way you display the issue number.

Ok so, light refracts when it enters water, many people know this. What I'm wondering is if Atlanteans notice this when they go on the surface world, do colours look different? Are small details (eg small writing) hard to see on the surface? Is everything a little blurry underwater? etc.

Hey Greg love your show, and the characters. There's only one thing that's really bothered me in this series. What is it that Artemis sees in Wally that would make her be interested in him?

I haven't seen her do anything that suggests she's interested romantically. Again, that isn't to say that I see no relationship between them - just I see it as more of a surrogate sibling relationship thus far.

In order for this to be a romantic relationship, Artemis would have to enjoy Wally's company, and she doesn't. They rarely interact between missions besides when she's being a bossy surrogate sister to him. She doesn't like his sense of humor and I don't think she thinks very highly of him, either. If most of this interaction has happened in that comic book then that's different. Unless Artemis is poking Wally about him saying something dumb or seeing a chance to deflate him a bit (for his own good, in the end), she doesn't talk to him at all.

People have noted that Artemis got jealous of Megan in "BEREFT" when Wally mentioned knowing her, but they forget one crucial detail - up until that point, Wally gave Artemis his undivided attention. Being attracted to someone, and being attracted to their attention are two very different things. Besides, the problem with "BEREFT" being the biggest anchor to their "romantic" relationship is it relies on an AMNESIA, and the benefit of that plot trope is to have characters act differently than they usually do due to ignorance
I KNOW that Wally & Artemis are supposed to be a couple. My issue is that I see it as a case of the show TELLING me something rather than being effective at showing me. After all, "TSSM" didn't need amnesia or Dr. FATE to get across the notion that Peter and Gwen were kismet. And that lessens my enjoyment and appreciation of that subplot, where I feel it doesn't work without blunt signposts directed by the plot itself.

For equal time, Wally did spend much of his time beyond "BEREFT" flirting with Megan incessantly, until "COLDHEARTED" obviously. It was mostly his fault that they started off on a wrong foot, since he was upset that Artemis was replacing Speedy. Yes, he stopped referring to Artemis as "beautiful" after the amnesia beam was undone, but we still see he cares because at least twice he's reacted very strongly when Artemis was either hurt or "killed" in subsequent episodes. Of course, this reaction is similar to that of Conner - screaming her name and going on a rampage - although unlike Conner, Wally can't back it up. I've seen Artemis show as much concern for Kaldur during a rough mission as she has for Wally, which doesn't quite equalize it. I can at least rationalize that Wally likes Artemis because he finds her hot. I can't think of a single thing Artemis likes about Wally, at least romantically (or even in general). Which is why I interpret their relationship as more of a surrogate sibling quality, even as the show hammers that into a different shaped peg.

I bought the trade paperback of "Young Justice" (issues #0 - #6) today and enjoyed it. A few specific comments.

1. The Terror Twins gave me a mild "Jackal and Hyena" feeling; I especially thought of the Diamond Exchange scene at the start of "Her Brother's Keeper" when I read the part about them on the loose in the mall.

2. Judging from the flashback to the Joker's invading the Justice League's old headquarters, the Flash must have once been just as much a wisecracker as Kid Flash now is, though he seems to have settled down in the present-day scenes.

3. The story in #3 and #4 ends with Selena apparently getting assassinated by the League of Shadows after all, even after the two assassins we met "on stage" were foiled, meaning that the team failed in its mission - something you don't see in super-hero stories too often. The last silent panel brought that home well, I thought.

4. I thought that #6 came up with an ingenious way of telling Robin's origin story without having him break the "don't reveal your civilian identity" stricture, by having him remember it to himself.

5. The end of #6 was another shocker - a vision of Superman gone rogue, destroying the Daily Planet building and killing Lois Lane and Perry White, before Superboy takes him down. It left me wondering: does whoever was behind Superboy's programming believe (and fear) that Superman may indeed run amok someday, or is that what he wants Superboy to believe? (A rhetorical question, I should add.)

I also enjoyed all the humor in it, from the scene in #0 where Wally's mother is correcting his grammar and Superboy misinterprets her statement to Miss Martian unwittingly demolishing Wally's plan for a private moment with her by the campfire and Wally's account of his origin (and, yes, having two super-speedsters from different eras called "Flash" *is* confusing, though at least they wear different costumes).

I'm definitely buying the next trade paperback when it comes out - and I'm also glad that it's easy to follow for someone like me who has only a general familiarity with DC Comics.

Hi Greg, i would like to ask how does martian shapeshifting work? How did they get the anatomy of any living lifeform correct by thing about it e.g shape and position of lungs, heart reproductive organs etc by just thinking about it.

Also, clayface's shapeshifting ability does the clothes he forms when he changes his form feel like real clothes or like clay and can he take those clothes off or they automatically reduce to clay?

Hey, might I first say how much I'm enjoying the work you've done on Young Justice. I grew up watching Gargoyles, and when I heard you were going to be the one behind my favorite super-hero team, I was beyond excited. You've also been able to create such rich mythologies and fantastic characters.

1. So, I know that you've got a large selection of DCU characters that are going to appear in the Young Justice series as both minor and major roles, but due to the fact that there are a lot of variation of certain identities (i.e. 5 different characters who were Robin, 5 different Batgirls, etc...), are there any particular characters that you would have greatly liked to use for the show, but found yourselves unable to due to the continuity and current time setting of the characters you've established?

2. Its been established in the YJ comics that it wasn't only Dick Grayson's parents who died, but also members of his extended family who were also in the act. In the archive I see you named his aunt who died Karla. Did you at any point consider naming her "Harriet Cooper", as in the aunt of Dick's who appeared in the Adam West Batman show?

3. Why was it decided by the creative crew that Dick's uncle would survive, but remained paralyze?

4. Why are white martians portrayed as more humanoid looking in the Young Justice comic, but Miss Martian's white martian form looks more bizarre? Was it part of Miss Martian's lie, or just a decision on the part of the artist of the comic?

When Garfield got injured, how did they fix his injuries? There wasn't alot of blood shown, so he must probably had internal bleeding which resulted in shock. Those injuries would have needed repairing so the transfusion would do some good. Telekinesis? Quick run to a hospital for surgery and back? Just wondering.
Also I've noticed people asking about the eye color change. Could that be a coloring error or was it intentional? Sorry if that questions's a spoiler request.

Hey Greg, I probably say it every time I post, but love your work. Been a fan since Gargoyles, miss Spectacular Spider-Man, and glad you were able to develop Young Justice (love all the nods to DC Comics, really shows you care about the material).

My first question is more of a general curiosity than anything else. With Earth-16's White, Red, and Green Martians, I was wondering why red over the Yellow Martians of the Pre-Crisis Earth-1? I know the Green Martians made red clones of themselves for Saturn for the retcon predating the company's latest reboot.

My second question is was the Wildstorm library of characters available for YJ? Just finished watching "Image" which has definitely become my favorite. It particularly resonated with me because I'm a young woman dealing with my own insecurities about my image and my place in society and I was so happy to see M'gann's character develop and deepen in a such a way. So, thank you very much!!! Anyway my questions are:

1.) This episode dealt with deep subject matter in some areas. For example, the fact that M'gann turned into Canary and kissed Conner. I think it was a good set up to dive into M'gann's insecurities better but I also wondered why Canary's discussion with M'gann and the general reaction from the league (i.e. Green Arrow's amusement) wasn't more serious. I think Canary handle it seriously but she didn't really touch on the fact that it was inappropriate not only because it assumed another's identity but also because it violated the teacher-student relationship. So, I was wondering if it was just time limit or inappropriate subject matter or something else? Also, why wasn't Conner included in the discussion (seeing as he is also new to rules of society)?

2.) I'm a little confused about M'gann's background. Did J'onn know she was a White Martian and disguised her or is she just so awesomely cool that she fooled everyone? Is that why he is shocked to find out she is more powerful than he is telepathically?

First things first, thank you so much for letting the spoiler-posts be deleted!! It's not just on here that spoilers are coming up and I've had to take a temporary step back from the fandom so the last few episodes aren't spoiled, and I know I'm not the only one. But luckily some sites have done what you've done and banned spoilers from episodes that haven't aired in the US yet. So thanks, again, for helping out us fans who like to wait to see what happens.

Anyway, I've been loving these last few episodes, it seems that all the little plot points from early episodes are finally coming together!! Images was brilliant, and you have no idea how excited I was to see a pre-green Beastboy! And from what I gathered at the end of the episode, your version of how Garfield gets his powers definitely makes more sense than being bitten by a green monkey. Robin's reluctance to lead tied in to what he revealed in Disordered, and I loved the realism of that! Wally hinting that he knows who Batman is and Rob's actions to shut him up were hilarious! And props to Phil for the white martian design, I was thoroughly freaked out.

And while I'm on about the awesomeness of this show, let me just say that your brother (I'm assuming Jon is your brother here) actually had me fooled with Perdita's second 'death' in Coldhearted, and I'm never fooled by TV these days!! So, major props to him.

Anyway, on to my questions. I do apologise if they've been asked before but I've had to avoid the queue lately for obvious reasons and I don't remember reading them in the archives.
1. We haven't heard Robin's cackle/laugh in a while, and I just LOVE that cackle, is there are reason why??

I did NOT expect the topic of Meg's appearance as Hello Megan to be broached in this way, nor did I expect Meg's, evidently crippling, fear of her appearance being known to be presented and exercised in this way. This show keeps breaking expectation. You've become very skilled at taking the less obvious path, even in the minutia. I love it, and wish you many, many years of renewal.

Also found the creator credits for the Hello Megan intro amusing. Was it fun scripting & storyboarding the show's intro & segments? You got to break genre for a bit there. I liked Superboy's reaction to finding out his namesake a lot. I'm curious to see the fallout, if any.

First, I just want to say that Gargoyles is one of my all-time favorite shows, and I often return to it when I'm lonely and I'm always pleased by how fresh episodes like "Vows" remain after many viewings many years later. I'm also a big fan of Young Justice--to be honest, it took a while for the show to win me over 100% (of course, very high expectations were in place, both because it's a DC animated property and because you were working on it), but, I'll admit I've watched the Brazilian "leaks" up through "Unusual Suspects" and those episodes are pitch perfect, so, great job, and many thanks. I'm VERY excited for what's next.

Now, on to my questions:

As several people have pointed out, Brazil and Turkey are ahead of the US in terms of airing schedule. I don't know if you're aware, but fans have undertaken to sub the broadcast episodes back into English. I know you have mixed feelings on the subject of fanfiction, but I wonder if you have feelings on the practice of fans sub titling your work, originally created in English, back into English with their own translations? (And if you do have feelings/ideas on the subject, would you care to share?)

And while we're on the subject of fanfiction--I know a lot of authors who engage their fans have a public policy of not reading fanfiction, and you're among these. IIRC, the reason is because you don't want to incur the risk of being sued by a fan who claims you stole their work. I'm a law student and something of a nerd/geek, so I'm intensely curious to know where you picked this idea up. I'm taking copyright right now, and two of the doctrines we've learned seem to be in contradiction with the viability of this fear: (A) The idea/expression distinction (ideas are not protected under copyright, only their expression, so the idea of having Prospero on Gargoyles, even if you got it from another source, would probably not be considered infringement since the idea of having Prospero on Gargoyles is probably too abstract, whereas if there were a specific fanfic which predated a Gargoyles comic by five years and the Gargoyles comic carefully followed the plot of the fanfic, that could be a case of copyright infringement). And, (B) Infringing works are deprived of copyright protection, so if a fanfic infringes on a copyright (which, presumably almost all fanfic does, unless fanfic is fair use), it would have no copyright protection. (Here a critical question is whether fanfiction is fair use, which is an odd little quirk of the law, in that it's a well-known black hole in the law of copyright that seems unlikely to be adjudicated, and therefore, unlikely to ever be resolved.)

Of course, I'm not a lawyer (yet) and this is by no means intended to be legal advice, and I'm also not suggesting that you read fanfiction (personally, I'd rather you produce your awesome original stuff than spend time reading fanfic). But as a law nerd, I'm intensely interested in the relationship between perceptions of the law and the law on the books, and to what extent the law (and perceptions thereof) impact professional practice.

Hey greg! First of all, I just wanna say that Young Justice is my favorite show, and whatever you're doing, keep doing it. :) I just had a few comments on the last couple of episodes...
IMAGE- loved it. I really liked how M'gann was forced to become her true self and I especially loved the ending with Queen Bee telling her to 'cooperate or everyone will know'. Nice touch, really enjoyed it.
1) Why did it seem like Robin didn't really want to be leader? Was it because of what happened in Failsafe?
2) Where was Zatanna? I thought she was a part of the team, but i didn't see her here.
3) Does Martian Manhunter know that M'gann is not really a green martian? Does anyone else know, or does everyone believe her?
COLDHEARTED- I liked this one, not my favorite necissarily, but I definatly enjoyed it, and I can't think of any question I have that wouldn't be classified as a spoiler.
MISPLACED- I had been waiting for this episode since the series stopped in 2011, and let me just say it was worth the wait. I loved it, I loved Zatanna's heart breaking cry to her father just before he put on the helmet, I loved how Captain Marvel seemed to make the terrible situation funny. And again, no questions without spoilers...

First of all, thanks for the great work on Young Justice. It is incredibly enthralling and engaging. I definitely feel the same investment to catch every episode week to week as I did with Spectacular Spider-Man. The great ingenuity in storytelling is quite apparent here as it was in SSM.

I've had the great pleasure to catch the latest episode, Image, and I had noticed something in the end during the scene between Queen B and Miss Martian. It seems that during some angles in the scene, there is someone in the corner, hiding in the shadows, watching the whole exchange. I couldn't tell if what I saw was genuine or a pixel issue due to my TV being quite outdated, and I tried confirming it by watching the rerun, but to no avail. I have a belief that it was Robin in the corner, but can you confirm this? If the figure was meant to be ambiguous, can you confirm that here was a figure in the corner at the very least? Or are my eyes just seeing things? Thanks for your time.

P.S. Huge kudos to the introduction of Gar. What a fantastic approach to such a fun character as well as the references in the Hello, Megan credits.

I'ed like to start off with a complaint, really guys? I understand you have questions about unaired episodes, but do you HAVE to word them like plot summeries? the probebly twist's of the FOUR episodes are now compromised. Sorry Greg, but i don't think ill be checking the unawnsered question section anymore, the next month of episodes have soured because of it. I'm sorry, but i just really enjoy that sense of surprise when you get deeply immense in a show and they hit you with that curve ball, it's no fun seeing it coming.

I just have more of a comment about spoilers.

My issue is we (being the general public audience) may not be clear of what constitutes in the area if spoiler request. Granted yes, certain questions clearly ruin a lot about story, however when it comes to character that's a little too ambiguous. If someone ask questions about love life for a character, it could end up becoming a story element and thus a spoiler.

Its the difference between asking some women their birthday and their age. One is considered a little rude while the the other isn't unless of course the woman takes it to that level out of context. I may not come out and ask her zodiac sign, but asking her b'day is simpler and should be received with the simplest answer, then if the answer is either May 4 and not May 4 1970 you perceive the the short answer is probably because she's being protective of her age.

I've noticed that sometimes a question got shot down and was never addressed (to my knowledge anyway) on the show (YJ).

I'm a big fan of continuity as I gather you are too based on your use of dates, your shows in general and an interview you did years ago critizing the X-Men for not evolving and moving forward. I think DC has some fantastic characters and concepts, which is one of the reasons I like Young Justice. However, I've found that without fail whenever I start reading their books and enjoying them, they erase characters and storylines I've become fond of from existence in a big reset or reboot in an effort to become “new reader friendly” e.g Linda Danvers, Helena Bertinelli, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, Team Titans, Infinity Inc etc.

In the end, this practice alienated me as a reader and I no longer buy DC books because as a reader I find this extremely irritating. So first of all, I'm glad that your not doing that with Young Justice. The characters in show have already greatly progressed through season 1 and I'm very optimistic about the Season 2 based on the first episode.

I'm curious though as a comic book reader what do you make of DC comics and their practice of the "reset"?

Wow I can't believe how negative some people are being about the time skip. I absolutelt LOVE the new team! I can't wait to see how the old team members have changed in 5 years. Also, I love that Zatanna is on the League now!! Kudos for taking such a big risk. So now my question: Do you have a plan for how the comic will run once the season 1 storylines are done in it? Would you prefer to set it up to show what happened in the 5 year gap, or show stories between episodes like you are currently doing? I'm more excited than ever to watch Young Justice!

I would like to ask you something about white martians and miss martian in particular.

Why do they or more specifically why does miss martian has our beauty standandards?

For instance probably a male pig would consider beautiful a female pig while we would consider both not to be atractive and even repulsive as we aren't of that species.

But Miss martian instead of having "white martians beauty standards" she gets atracted to a kryptonian that is considrerd atractive by human standards (judging my Artemis atraction to him) and takes the form of a caucasian beautiful woman (by our standards). If she had "white martians beauty standards" she wouldn't hate herself so much and she would consider herself as normal and the team's humans as the ugly ones

Not sure if this was intentional on your part or not, but I'd like to thank you for making "Image" a perfect metaphor for what it's like to be Trans. Obviously M'Gann is transspecies rather than transgender or transsexual, but I know a few transpeople and the attitudes are almost exactly the same, in that what she presents herself as is who she really feels she is inside, though obviously it's easier for a shapeshifter to make that a reality.

I like that M'Gann completely rejects Psimon's insinuation that her white martian form is her "true form," and insists that she really is Megan on the inside. I also enjoy how she made it a point to mention that she keeps herself in that form for *her*, because while she desperately craves acceptance from the others, she wants to be in control of her own identity rather than live in a predefined role based on how she looked like when she was born.

Whether you intended it or not, it sends a very powerful message that people can be free to present themselves as who they are inside instead of letting society dictate their "true form." It's one I certainly didn't expect to see on a show on Cartoon Network, and it's one of the many reasons I love this show.

The fourth episode in a row to completely knock it out of the park. I am speechless. I suppose I shouldn't be, as I never disliked the show, I just didn't love it. But the creative team behind it has long ago earned my trust, and that trust has been paying off. This episode was great.

Let me be honest, up until now, I didn't care for Miss Martian, or that catch phrase. I wasn't complaining about it like other people were, because I knew that there is no way this team would put something as annoying as M'Gann crying "hello, Megan!" into the show without a damn good reason. While I saw the twist coming, I wasn't quite prepared for just how dark and disturbing the revelation would really be. In one fell swoop, she's become one of the darker characters on the team... a role that, for the most part, was held by Artemis. They weren't kidding when they said the theme of the season was "secrets and lies" and M'Gann is a pathological liar. Frying the brains of her friends, and maybe mindwiping Psimon just to keep her secret.

I figured she modeled herself after a sitcom star, but I was unaware of just how much. She even named Connor after "Megan's" love interest in the sitcom. Cute theme song for that sitcom, by the way. Very 1980's. But Garfield was wrong, it can't be that rare a series, since it was on TV in Artemis' apartment several episodes back. Marie Logan was justified in being put off by her at first. Although it was touching when Marie finally came around after M'Gann saved her son's life.

And here's a quick note, Connor and M'Gann are kinky teens. I don't know how far they've actually gone together, but I tend to think they've done more than kiss by now. Who else has she transformed into when they've gotten busy? Okay, enough of my verbal voyeurism... but that was a pretty big entendre.

I enjoyed the return of Psimon, especially when he got into M'Gann's head and tore down all her defenses laying all of her secrets out in front of her. Her true form is... hideous. Monstrous even. I feel bad saying so about what we've been told in the past is an oppressed minority... but I am curious as to exactly how much Martian Manhunter knows about her. And what else has she lied about? Her entire life is, at this point, a lie... and now she is beginning to feel the consequences of those lies, and it's only going to get worse for her. But, suddenly, I like this character. I didn't like her before now, but... talk about a one-eighty.

The conflict between Bialya and Qurac was nice, and pretty topical considering current events in the Middle East. We've gone through Arab Spring and the toppling of tyrannical regimes. I know Bialya is an acronym for Libya, and sadly they haven't had a chance to put down their own dictator, but as a political junkie, this made it even more fun to watch.

I can't end this review without mentioning Queen Bee, and Marina Sirtis. I've been waiting to see, and hear, more of her and I was not disappointed. The way the episode ended, I know we'll be seeing and hearing even more from her and I cannot get enough of Marina's voice. But I've been a big fan of Marina Sirtis for longer than either of us would care to admit, which is funny considering I never much cared for the character of Deanna Troi. Marina may have been put on the map by playing the nicest character in the universe, but villainous roles like Demona and now, Queen Bee, are where she shines. I definitely cracked a smile at that line about how Queen Bee can enthrall "most men and some women" although, I tend to think that's a Marina Sirtis ability more than anything... fifty-six years old, and still gorgeous.

Loved it, can't wait to see what comes next.
