2.a) If so, did you draw any inspiration from it, seeing as it's in the same "super-hero ensemble" genre you write (so well) for?

2.b) What modern works (be they film, television, literature, art, or not at all) do you draw inspiration from? Or just like?

3.) Over your career, you're written generally high-concept stories. Now more than ever, it seems like high-concept stuff has entered the mainstream (aliens, super-heroes and giant transforming robots running around everywhere). Since everyone's playing in the same sandbox artistically, does that make it more difficult to come up with original ideas? Without subverting or straight-up parodying the genre you're writing in?

4.) How do u rite so gudd? What would you recommend to new, ambitious writers, to help us learn to write with confidence and voice and stuff?

5.) Your decision to skip ahead 5 years (in YJ) shocked me, upset me and piqued my interest. I've never seen a show jump so much time, so I'm very excited to see how you all bridge the two season together. How did you let the studio powers-that-be let you take such a big narrative risk? Was it a big struggle?

Here is my question.
I'm guessing that the reason why you guys put WW's age into the 80s was to emphasize
the fact that she's immortal, which was a great move.
I know that Superman is in his 30s on your show, but i've read and seen in multiple portrayals of Superman (like Kingdom Come, DCAU), that while he's not immortal, he has a much, much longer lifespan than normal humans.
Was the reason why you chose not to give him a advanced age, was to emphasize the fact
that inside, he's more human than alien?

1.Is it fun having Beast Boy in the show with having his abilities of animal shape shifting?
2. Can Beast boy only turn into animals he's seen? Or if he concentrates on the form can he turn into them?
3. I noticed that when Beast Boy was looking at the alien bird it was only his head that changed. Can I safely assume that Beast can also change certain parts of his body?
4. Can Beast Boy stay in a sort of in between stage when turning into animals?

So I've been keeping up with Young Justice: Invasion again, and I've noticed Beast Boy mainly only turns into animals. Now I remember Megan didn't have this limitation, and seeing as Garfield's powers came from Megan, it's a bit confusing as to why he would have the limitation when the source didn't.

So I guess my question is: Why is Beast Boy only limited to animals when Megan isn't?

I was curious if this universe has a system for dealing with the property damage that comes with the existence super powered heroes and villains, it's always something I end up thinking about watching animated series.

In terms of..
a. Is the league expected to help the general public repair neighborhoods and cities?
b. Is money privately and publically budgeted for expected damages in high risk cities? (The typical home areas of all the different heroes.)
c. Has it ever become an image/PR problem for the league? Or does the status quo put lives before property and accept it as an inconvenience/blame the bad guys?

Very excited to see where Invasion is going. :) Unexpected but interesting twist.

Based on Beast Boy's flashback in "Earthlings," I suspect that Queen Bee killed Marie Logan (and presumably tried to kill Garfield as well) as revenge for Miss Martian's deceptive actions in "Usual Suspects." Why wasn't Marie Logan and her son put into protective custody in order to avoid further danger from Queen Bee?

Hello Greg Weisman, thank you for this interesting opportunity. I'm a big fan of Young Justice and it's great to see another great DC show around. I'm sorry to say this is the first show by you that I've watched (I should fix that). Snappy writing, fun undercurrent of mystery, and from what I understand is a staple of your shows, not assuming your fans are incapable of following an ongoing plot line.

I love the fight scenes in the show. Very fluid animation; and I enjoy in particular when the "normals" get to cut loose and drop some martial arts on each other. I also find it fun when Superboy gets to utterly wail on people.

Anyways, I have a question that has been plaguing me in recent years. I'm not sure if the answer varies from show to show but here it is. How much say do the writers get in the crafting of the action scenes? Do you guys lay down some guidelines for what must happen in a fight or do you ultimately leave it up to the animators and/or artists?

Well, there's my question that quickly devolved into a multi-question, I'm sorry. But, please, keep the awesome coming man! I hope this show keeps on keepin' on! Six seasons and a movie!

First let me say i really enjoyed the first season of young justice and couldn't wait to see the second season of young Justice!!But i wouldn't be honest if i didn't say that i was surprised and shocked at the changes that were made, the time jump of five years, the focus changing from the seven members from the first season and the big shock, Miss Martian and Superboy breaking up!!

Even those i could see that coming not because they weren't a good couple. A lot of things have turned out to be the same as the first young justice comic book series,you changed the way they get there, plus it seems everybody wants superboy to be with wondergirl like in the comics. As for me, i like Miss Martian and Superboy as a couple and hope they get back together in the future but that just me!! That being said, i did enjoy the first two episodes from season two! My Questions,

1.How tall is Miss Martian in her true form?
2.Did Miss Martian have anything do with Superman finally accepting Superboy?? She seemed to know he was coming!!I guess what i'm asking is did she talking to him.

In the comics, Bumblebee could not use her suit to shrink, nor did she have a relationship with the Atom, but in Young Justice she can shrink and is the Atom's sidekick/lab partner/student something (as of my asking this, only Earthlings has aired). These two traits wouldn't happened to be derived from another bee-themed superheroine owned by a certain other comic company, would they?

I was quite suprised with the implication that Delilah might take Malibu on as her mate, as his mental development would in line with a child right?

Could there be somewhat sinister Demona-eque reason for Delilah remaining with Malibu and the other clones? You've mentioned, or at the very least it's on the wiki that she's the natural leader of the clones given her education. Does Delilah has Demona's urge for power and leadership? It would seem that Malibu would be a far more passive mate than Thailog and no threat to her attaining leadership of their clan. Or am I perhaps judging her too harshly?

I was looking up the Marvel Gargoyles comic. If you wanted to use to use any of those characters are they considered marvel characters or Gargoyle characters? It's probably a non issue but I am curious. Venus seems like such an obvious character to deserve a parody, although Delilah probably already fills that role.

Hey Greg,

I know a lot of people consider Gargoyles to be an anti-Disney show due to its dark tone, but I think it actually has a lot of similarities. Both Gargoyles and other Disney films adapt mythology and famous stories in their own ways, while featuring strong emotions and conflicts(okay, those might be a bit general).

My question is, did Disney storytelling have an influence on the making of Gargoyles, and the eventual integration of different mythologies?

Did you ever, upon learning about a character, think "Wow, what a stinker! This guy is crud. Yeah, we're not using him/her." Wow! I was watching Young Justice: Invasion episode two and I must say, that was awesome!!!! But what caught me off guard, was when Adom Strange was talking about Alice and wonderland characters, such as the jaberwock and the bandersnatch. (sorry if I misspelled the names) I find it funny how he used that as a distraction. :) Why is it that many DC Universe characters are affiliated with Alice and Wonderland? Hi Greg, so far the second season is looking good. for this week's episode, I especially loved that part where Adam was acting like a bit of a nutcase to distract the guards. Special thanks to whoever's idea it was to make that Jabberwok reference and I look forward to seeing how the rest of the season turns out. A while ago, I remember finding a question in which you said the Flying Graysons "accident" happened on April 1st, also known as April fools day. Was there any particular reason for this? I have to say/ask:

1. Some of you love Season 2. Awesome. Good for you. Some of us hate it. Loving the new season doesn't give you the right to tell everyone else to "get over" anything, keep their opinions "to themselves" or to not post their feelings here. It's not your board. It's Greg's. Some negative reactions have been "approved". That tell you anything? It should. Yours is not the only acceptable opinion in the world or in YJ fandom (former or otherwise).

2. Liking/missing the relationship aspect of season 1 (and asking what happened?) does not make someone a "shipper". Stereotypes are just that. I moved out of my parents' house when I was 16. Got tattooed. Got into fights. Lived on the streets. Pulled myself up by my bootstraps, so to speak. I now have a good life. Have always had an active "intimate" life and have decent social skills. But? I LIKE COMIC BOOK MYTHOLOGY. See? Not a "geek" or "fanboy", etc. So much for being able to pigeonhole people based on what they like. Relationships are part of the story. Like costumes, to a degree. If Robin started wearing clown shoes, a ball-gag and a pirate hat, somebody might express their displeasure. Does that make them a "'stumer"? No. This isn't the "Big Bang Theory", so let's not entertain these insipid stereotypes.

3. WHY DO YOU PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW HOW OLD CHARACTERS ARE!?!? Every other question is "how old is Alfred?" "how old is Sphere?" "what is Batgirl's hat size?" Does this really matter... to anyone, on any level? Does not knowing Blue Beetle's exact age, Teekl's high school locker combination or Hawkgirl's bra size really keep you awake at night? If you enjoy season 2, just watch it, enjoy the ride and stop sweating the small stuff! Some of us are backside hurt over the time skip and quit watching after season 1! You're lucky if you're not one of us! Just be happy and enjoy the show.

Hiya,Greg, man I am even more psyched for this show now. The writing has really stepped it up. One thing bugs me though. Miss Martian. Under that sweet, cutesy exterior I really feel we have someone who is and should not be taking liberties and doing what she does. It's creepy and insidious what she does and I am thinking, Conner's instincts are leading him the right direction because she feels dangerous to me. This ability to invade minds...it bugs me.

I don't think as well, her being a shape shifter justifies her being with Conner as said by Alana. Dude needs to move on...no, cross that. He needs to allow himself to grow and experience the world. He is 5 year old kid. Kudos on Conner's emotional/psychological growth too. He seems less angry too and more in control.

And as for Lagoon Boy, why is he already slated as the "jerk"? He looks like a fish and acts no different to any boisterous teenager. This was the same thing said about Wally. I like underdogs. I feel sorry for him in a way. Anyway, I can't wait to see what the JL got up to in the 16 hours they were off world!!! Great, suspenseful, intelligent writing!!! And gorgeous crisp animation!

I have a question about Gargoyle genetics and cloning. Apologies if this makes your head hurt, it's made mine hurt.
In Marvel comics, when they cloned X-23 they used just Wolverine's X chromosomes as the Y sample was damaged and a male clone wasn't viable.

I was looking up reptiles, as Gargoyles as I understand it are closer to reptiles than mammals. In reptile genetics it's the females(ZW) that have two different chromosomes not males(ZZ). So if Sevarius had a sample of say Angela, but only the Z was viable would he'd still be able to create a male clone of her, right? Females clones for Gargoyles would be the trickier of the two?

i have absolutly fallen in love with Young Justice. Lex Luthor has always been my favorite DC Character and I love the way he is portrayed on your show. So I have a couple of Lex centric questions.
1) In the Young Justice universe is LexCorp one of the world's leading scientific organizations/companies? Similar to Wayne Enterprises and Star Labs
2) In Agendas Lex states "I'm the new chairman of the board for Project Cadmus, was that just to gain Superboy's trust or does the Light consider him the head of that particular project?
3) Again one more Lex type question, was Lex and the Light involved with the founding of Cadmus or did they just take over an existing organization?

I posted questions up here before that you answered, so thanks for answering them. Loving season 2 so far, the new characters seem fun and I hope the older charaters get some of the spotlight.
I only really have 2 questions so far, both relating to Miss martian.
1.) so, I didn't really get the design change until ep 2. is the reason for her change of appearance because she looked like Beast boys mom, and she changed her appearance so he wouldn't feel like she was trying to replace her. btw, love their relationship.
2.) She acted really dark. was that darkness the reason superboy broke up with her, a result of the break up, or just a new attitude she developed after 5 years as a superhero and seeing what most villans will do.
Really liking her character. I never disliked meg, but she was probably my least favorite in season 1, she didn't grow on me till failsafe. Keep up the good work greg, and thanks for giving us this series....MY LIFE NOW HAS MEANING.

Greg, I really admire what you've done with Superboy in the episode Earthlings. You've made him more calm and levelheaded as he is no longer an angsty teen. Its also good to see him step up as a leader, like Superman. Thank you for making this character more likeable.
